    Excellent video! Two out of three jobs on my to do list today. The potatoes being the first. My good lady is in hospital and at the back of the vegetable cupboard there is a half bag of potatoes gone to seed, I've got some potato sacks and am going to plant them out. Don't like putting them in the ground as they get eaten by little black slugs. I have a lot of compost and manure in bags so will mix this up and plant out using your method. Number two the washing machine, having watched you do it I will try the same method, To my knowledge its not been cleaned in five years and this will be a nice surprise for the wife when she gets home. Nothing needs concreting at present but that does not mean it won't come in handy in the future. I know you can't wait to get back out there fishing, but I have found a lot of your videos during lockdown easy to follow and useful on jobs around the house. Now they have relaxed the social distancing laws you will no doubt get back to fishing. I just want to thank you for the many useful and interesting videos you have released during lockdown that have taught me how to do certain jobs. You and your family keep well and I look forward to the fishing.

      Thanks for the comment .I have to do all types of different jobs anyway so it gave me something to do filming them .I was grateful for the distraction .Certainly seems people enjoyed them ,I have some more on file but as you say,fishing will be in the crosshairs now.

    I had an allotment for 8yrs, had to give it up when I went to M-F working wk! (Was on a 4on 4off) then a grandaughter appeared! We bought a bag of salad potatoes for £1 from Asda, a week later they had all chitted. My wife was going to throw them out, but took them to our plot and planted them!
    A couple of months later, filled a 56lb potato sack with them! For the next 4yrs, never bought seed potatoes, and always had great crops!

    potatoes are a great plant to grow and so easy just dunk them in the ground or in a pot and they will go! here in the Netherlands, we have a soft lockdown so there are still markets twice a week and I went to them to find slightly off potatoes aka the ones with shoots then ask if I could use it for planting and hey presto fee potato! I went for a different type each time.
    another great thing about potatoes is they will grow no matter what as long as it isn't too cold so you can keep on planting until later in the year and with the softer winters of the last decade the later in the year I planted the deeper I put them they might not come up but next year they will so for the last years I put my June harvest in the ground in late October I even tried growing them indoors in the winter but it only works if you have a roof window and a daylight lamp to prolong the growing hours and a November plant will be harvestable in April.
    a nice note is that red potatoes have purple flowers and the standard spud has white flowers and some varieties have male or female flowers.

We'll probably have to wait until after July 4th to be released to go fishing, 'cos that's when the Tackle and bait Shops might be allowed to open - AND it is Independence Day in the US - sardonic coincidence ?? OK guys get your kit ready 13th May 2020 fishing ban lifted for England but restrictions still in operation for Wales Scotland and Ireland. That makes me so angry. But it won't be long till we are allowed to get back to our beloved activity. Stay safe 2 meters from each other and good luck out there.

      @@TAFishing I do agree. But if we fish sensibly on our own or just ppl we live with it isn't an additional risk. We have to have some kind of fun and fishing is possibly 1 of the safest. Just be sensible guys as we all love fishing but it's not worth dying for either.

      BTW I have chronic lung disease and have to be VERY CAREFUL! So I research cutting edge medical research to help me stay alive. I was given 5yrs to live 12yrs ago so believe I'm doing something right lol.
      I've had serious research stating Coronovirus can be killed off with Schweppes tonic water and Zinc plus Vit D3. Also mega dose of Vit C as that is amazing in how it detox the body and kills bacteria and virus in the body. Bet ya thinking what a nut job Schweppes tonic water. Well it has Quinine in it and that has been used in fight against Malaria for many years. Well the combo of Zinc and Quinine is the medicine the scientists were on about at start of this pandemic. The big Pharma corps don't want us realising it's so cheap and would prefer the world to vaccinate against it at huge expense and serious risks as will be untested long term damage to humans.

    Hello Greame.. Fantastic video as always but I have a quick question for you.. Now, I'm no flower gardener by any means but was wondering as to the longevity of daffodil bulbs because.. With NO word of a lie.. We have a spectacular display of flowers every year from bulbs that have to be at least 30 years old and they just come up every year.. No attention.. No work... They seem to be everlasting... The BIG flowers too... No small ones. Anyway.. Brilliant video again sir.. 👍❤️

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know myself..I bought them new about 5 years ago .First 2 years great show,then gradual deterioration until they all come up blind,with no bloom .I leave them in each year,not lift them.Maybe I also hit them down too soon so they don't get nutrients from the decaying stems ? I should maybe have bent the stalks over and banded them with elastic like I have seen elsewhere.

    • @archiemurchie7581

      @@TAFishing thankyou for your reply.. I myself have never mown a daffodil stem until they are dry.. Never bent and tied.. Maybe older better stock I don't know but thankyou for the videos.. Always AWESOME 🙏👍👍

      @@TAFishing They need feeding grame when grown in pot's. Most flowering plants need potassium but really any kind of fertiliser should suffice, what happens is the nutrients in the soil they are in becomes stagnant shall we say when in pot's and needs to be refreshed.
