3M Corner bead adhesive. Home Depot has it right next to the corner bead. Lowes has it in the paint department next to the wood glue. It is in a pink spray can. Make sure you tape off anything you don't want it to get on. It is thick, sticky and will tattoo anything pink. Otherwise, great job. I Like how you adapt and overcome in tricky renovation situations. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
Very cool, Emily! I haven't watched in a while for minimizing my YT time, but I had never heard of this product. You always find the easy way to do things and you do a great job of showing us how to DIY it ourselves. Thanks and I hope you and yours are doing well.
@@YouCanDIYHome That would be a great place for that. We tear 5 of those out a day and not one of them looks good. caulk always wants to crawl up the surround. We install sheet acrylic and bend it into a bullnose that dies into the wall the caulk it. That product you used there would work great on a surround though. Im going to use it in my kitchen. I set the widow so that the counter will land against the window frame with hal inch reveal and wasnt sure how to bring sheetrock up to the window without casing. i think that will work great there.
This is a gas insert, this area is not and should not be very hot. But yes, if you had an actual fireplace you would want the appropriate surround material.

Great vid! Awesome finish look. Im going to use that on my next project for sure. Keep them coming!
@@mrpbright thank you! I think the next place I’ll likely try it is butting up to a stud mount shower surround.

Thank you!
Is it just me so sceptical to use plastic bead around hot fireplace? It will melt or probably smell when it heats.
