I test drove it for 200km, I am downsizing, kids all left home, big enough for one person, limited garage space for manoeuvres, 1300 kilos, so not dragging around 1600/1800 kilos just for one person. Super comfortable and quiet with top trim. Mine arrives in August.
How is all the beeping working? It sounds pretty annoying. Is there any way to turn off the beeping but keeping the function on, e.g. it reads the speed limits but doesn’t beep if you go over it? Thanks!
I've a yaris cross. Since you've also reviewed and tested yaris cross, how different does lbx feel in terms of ride quality and noise level (inside noise from cabin and engine noise/cvt) compare to yaris cross ?
If the Yaris Cross is an 85 on a scale from 0 to 100, the LBX is an 97 on the same scale, for cars in the small SUV-segment. It is a premium product all the way thru'. ;)
The revs from the engine are based on the most efficient use of the engine at that moment. This is video is probably the video number 500 where this same issue is talked over and over again. It's meant to do this to be efficient, it's not bad for the engine. People should just get over it or drive something less efficient, if it's any problem.
Good catch. Also, geared transmissions do exactly the same thing as eCVTs - they try to rev the engine efficiently. But since they are geared they can only reach maximum efficiency once per gear, while eCVTs are at their most efficient all the time. People hating on eCVTs don't realize that they are literally sacrificing 30mpgs just to "sound good" which is insane to me.
Recuperation is controlled by shifters :) You need to be in S mode. Also, if I remember well there is an extra setting for centring car in the lane ("normal" mode is prone to bouncing from left to right).
As always a great video Dan. My Yaris GR-Sport is going for a Takumi Design this summer with that same interior. The Ultrasuede is gorgeous and so nice to the touch. That LBX is just phenomenal for what it is 🙂
@@SDADanCars oh I will always champion the Yaris and Yaris Cross to folk who are interested or after a small Hybrid. I’ll be sad to see my Yaris go however the LBX I’m very much excited for 🙂

Do you have an advice for small SUV/CROSSOVER where price doesn't go above 30K euro. Danke! Saw few videos of new T-Cross, Jeep Avenger, new Hyundai Bayon, Opel Mokka, Peugeot 2008...etc..its very hard to make a decision...

used to drive a yaris cross, surprisingly nice car. the only thing i don't really like is the sound of the engine, but...i guess in this car is better insulated, so it's not an issue anymore. also, price is kinda high.
I bought a Lexus LBX after searching for a new car since 6 months. Sure, the price is high but not that high. All cars in my choice were between 32-42k€ (Germany). But the Lexus is way more luxury then all others and have in a high trim every feature you can imagine. Stop thinking 20 years back were new cars cost 10k€. That’s not the truth anymore. Perfect car for me as a solo driver without kids. Sure, you can go way cheaper but then you buy a used car or don’t have so many features.
A mid spec LBX I premium Plus trim is the same price as a mid spec Corolla and a Top Spec Excel and has more kit than both 🤷♂️ It’s pricey but not massively so
A good video, but you shouldn't compare cows and calves. Yaris Cross is the base, but otherwise you always try to compare a car that costs 22,000 Fr more, it has to be there somewhere. Greetings Peter
Had the same decission to make. Ordered the LBX. Price are nearly the same but im just solo without kids or partner and drive daily in the city. I dont need the 4,40m C-HR and the LBX is more luxury. On the design site i like the new C-HR more.
Depends what you want. The CHR is a little longer and has a little bit more interior space (but a smaller boot). LBX the better interior and refinement. Personal taste really.
Nope. EU Law. You can turn it off in the menu but have to do this on every start. If you disable it for ever via Software you wont check your yearly maintenance and maybe lose insurance.
Because of the law. Not a single car can drive by itself atm. This is an assist system not a self driving system. Just people try to use it in the way which it wasn't designed for.
Well, as the name suggests, it's only an *assist* to your *steering* and not a self-driving system. It's basically just a cruise control for your steering wheel, it definitely helps you relax on very long journeys. I like it, i trust it much more when i know i'll be able to take over in an instant
Too many of those quite intrusive 'safety features' will have rather advert effect on so called safe driving. It's like a bossy mother in law beside you telling you how to drive and criticize your every move despite she never driven in her life.

Probably Lexus' best product considering their target audience (50+ retirees).
Also mine should arrive in August. Super excited. And the design is also nice for younger persons not only 50+ retirees
Big enough for 4 persons.

Yes I would like to know that some of the sensors can be switched off, although some have to remain active to satisfy EU legislation or similar.

Does the lbx have autonomous (self) parking?
Does it have nice ambient lighting?
Does LBX has digital central mirror? Thanks for review .

Why does the interior on Lexus's affordable car look better than their ~100k dollar LX600 flagship
Does it allow you to drive on a highway in EV mode (if you Really wanted to do that)?
Obviously not
Late reply but it is only an ev in stop and go traffic and in parking lots at speeds below 30
Rear blinkers are almost invisible…
한국에도 출시되면 좋겠어요
no sportmode ?
I prefer the default yellow color, its so eye catching. Plus keeps the price lower
Better to drive than the Toyota Yaris cross?

The price in Switzerland is quite higher for some reason compared to other Lexus/Toyota models
People report that the Lexus drive at slow speed is not smooth, nervous and fidgety, can you confirm
I didn’t felt that … go to do a test drive if you are not sure

What is the point of assisted steering if you have to keep your hands on the wheel, surely that is pointless?
