Dollightful has really helpful videos for rerooting tutorials, and even how to make a rerooting tool! You did really well here building up Ayaka's details in the face, and adding manga-like details to the dress was really clever.

while not technically horror, I’d love to see what you could do with some of the heavier moments from madoka magica. things like the scene with mami and charlotte, or sayaka and her soul gem, or the final battle with homura could take some very dark interpretations and I’d honestly be down to see it.

I love this series of dolls! If you want to give rerooting a try, you'll need to remove the hair plugs via the neck hole rather than via a cut in the head because otherwise the process won't work, the head would just bend inwards. I don't really reroot anymore myself because I always seem to split the plastic and break rerooting needles. Heating up the head seems to slightly help so if I reroot, I try and reroot before the faceup

You also may need to work around the initial painting step you do, I’ve never tried rerooting with any kind of paint coat over the head but based on how fickle the vinyl heads tend to be, it would probably be at risk of cracking the paint or making the head tougher/less flexible and harder to pierce with the reroot tool. Tbh wefting honestly works fine, but it’s always fun to explore new methods and luckily there’s tons of guides and pre-made kits out there to help you get started. Good luck :)

I know I am super late to the party but been loving your videos and have been binge watching them for three hours and when I saw that that you've done dolls based on Junji Ito's work I almost burst into tears and I truly hope that you'll do more dolls based on this work like Fuchi-san from Fashion Model, Kirie Goshima from Uzumaki (the version of her when the curse effects her tho), Yoshiko Togawa from The Human Chair, Chizumi from Dissolving Classroom and Kuriko from The Bully. You talent has shown me that you have the skills to put these characters into doll form and I will really enjoy watching you do it if you decide to.
I don't know if this is an odd thing to say, given the subject, but it's so soothing to watch you work. Here's me being a broken record, but the way you manage to emulate the style of the manga is incredible! Also, the use of pencils and paint together, using their respective textures, adds so much dimension! I love it. I've never read this series, but I definitely will if I can get my hands on it. Also, on a different note, I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who mixes paint on their hand!

very wonderful! i found you through your uzumaki doll and i think you are so incredibly talented, and it makes me so happy to see people that like horror enough to make such beautiful art out of it, as i'm a bit of a horror fanatic. i especially love junji ito as well. i'm not sure if you're a fan of making male dolls, but you could finish off the big three junji ito characters by making souichi tsujii as well? i would also recommend classic japanese horror films like ju-on: the grudge, or ringu! i think sadako from ringu and kayako from ju-on would both be really cool custom ideas! or if you're looking for more manga characters, i think the girl with the scissors coming out of her eyes in 'left hand of god, right hand of the devil' would be so interesting to see. just some ideas for you!!! i hope you have a wonderful day, etellan!

Maybe you could do an "anime-ify" series of American horror characters? Take popular horror characters like Pin Head and Myers and turn them into anime girls. That's be so cool!

very wonderful! i found you through your uzumaki doll and i think you are so incredibly talented, and it makes me so happy to see people that like horror enough to make such beautiful art out of it, as i'm a bit of a horror fanatic. i especially love junji ito as well. i'm not sure if you're a fan of making male dolls, but you could finish off the big three junji ito characters by making souichi tsujii as well? i would also recommend classic japanese horror films like ju-on: the grudge, or ringu! i think sadako from ringu and kayako from ju-on would both be really cool custom ideas! or if you're looking for more manga characters, i think the girl with the scissors coming out of her eyes in 'left hand of god, right hand of the devil' would be so interesting to see. just some ideas for you!!! i hope you have a wonderful day, etellan!
