- An 80-year-old California liquor store owner is being hailed a hero after shooting at an armed robber. As the suspects pulled up to his store, owner Craig Cope was watching them on the monitor getting ready to defend his business. When the robber came into the store with an assault rifle, Cope quickly shot the person with a shotgun, hitting the suspect's arm. Cope reportedly suffered a heart attack from the ordeal. He was rushed to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

All 4 suspects were arrested after they were located at a nearby hospital. The vehicle in the video was also stolen and returned to the owner. Craig returned to work after his heart attack but died months later due to a stroke. He ran that store since 1976. Rest in Peace legend.

Always always always park in the blind spot of the cameras. Stolen car or not. Never ever ever exceed the speed limit unless there was a chase. Always have a secondary vehicle like a bicycle or scooter. Wear different colours, one dark, one bright. No job is too small in the way to be pros.

Yeah! I worked at a gas station that was next to a car wash that employed ex cons. I didn’t know that at the time so a regular came in and I asked about his limp. He said he was trying rob someone, broke into their house, and the owner shot him in the leg. When I tell you I laughed so hard at him in his face. Then I said, you got what you deserved. He agreed!

I went in to a very old man's barbershop during Covid with a mask on. He told me "If you walked in here wearing a mask 6 months ago, I would have shot you." He smiled and laughed but I could tell he was serious LOL.

I'm not defending the criminal or anything and I don't think his action is justfiable for sympathy. However, other people don't have to be supporting him either just because they're putting a valid assumption. It's quite possible he was only intending to scare the owner, otherwise, he could've riddled him with bullets if he was ready to kill, even if he got injured.

It looked to me like the thug actually made the decision to retreat when he saw the shotgun. His arms and rifle dip down, and then we hear the shot. I don't know if this is the light-sound speed lag, but it sure seemed like the robber was brave enough to take on an unarmed, elderly man. When he realized he was in danger, he ran like a coward.

Watch active self protection’s video on this. He’s sure that the shotgun was loaded with birdshot instead of buckshot because at that range with a good hit you don’t get up from buckshot. If you don’t know the difference between bird and buck shot then stop talking and educate yourself.
