He had a great lean. It's based on when your torso crosses.
I think some of it was luck, too. Noah was in last place at 30 metres, but his unmatched top-end speed combined with the most precise of leans at the line miraculously secured him the win by five thousandths of a second. Admittedly, I (and Noah) thought Kishane Thompson (the silver medallist) had won, but many of us were surprised by the actual result!
