Jimmy is in touch with things no one should seek. Heroin. Truck with demons. Remove those things. There are really old musics from the Celts that are like this song. Then there is his raw talent and heritage. Then there is the time and place where it was written. All of these things come into play. A person living in modern day Syria could not make up a place like Rivendell. The flavor would be all wrong.
Dear Mr. Shanahan, I am 65 years old. I heard Jimmy Page play that version of it in Seattle in 1970. It has been in my mind almost every day of my life. That being the only live recording since Blueberry Hill, I never figured out the tuning, much less the actual fingerlings. After 45 years of thinking and listening to it, and it being my favorite guitar solo, Little Martha being second and easy to play, well, I broke down when I saw this, never thought I'd be able to ever play Bron yr aur. I have shared this with my still living guitar friends, and they are all knocked out, some never even hearing it at all on Physical Graffiti. I am now terribly disabled, unable to even walk for more than 5 minutes. So for a shut in this hit me hard, I am still learning it from you and am almost there. When I tried to explain the harmonics part, no-one really got me. Now they know I wasn't kidding. After 45 years of talking about it, here it is. THANK YOU, Sir. I have had a huge life, and now that I am unable to be involved with most of life, well, this puts a cap on it. SJ
This song touch the soul like nothing else Ive ever heard, just completely beautiful from the first note to the last. This will be played at my funeral. Jimmy Page is incredible and is my alltime favorite guitarist.
i cant believe... when you play that harmonics as Jimmy Page did in that beautiful live version of BRON YR AUR. Probably BEST COVER of this song. congratulations
Absolutely Beautiful!!! The Cliche' "Music to My Ears" is literally so true when hearing this Amazing Song written by the Great Jimmy Page! Perfect cover of The Most Beautiful Guitar Instrumental ever.

Really well done! One of very favorite pieces of music ever written. Will be played at my funeral. I hope Jimmy has seen this at some point. Quite certain he’d be impressed.
I am so glad this older version is coming to light once again. I've only heard it once or twice before and I absolutely love it. A beautiful cover version. Thank you!
Ok .. I have been so addicted to this guitar solo piece by JP that I am listening this in a loop for last one year. Yet more I listen to this the more beautiful it gets and very calming and a bit of tense feeling that keeps you loving this guitar artwork. And hands down Doug, you have played it so beautifully that You got a huge huge respect of mine. You're a legend.
An extraordinary cover - you make it look almost effortless. Perfect tone, timing, dynamics, the additional sections sound like they've always been there, in short, a masterful performance. It's enough to make you believe that given enough time and practice, an ordinary human being could play it! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Simply the best cover I’ve ever seen. Masterfully played. This is my favorite guitar solo of all time…and you nailed it. Simply awesome! I hope to one day learn to play this. I’m just getting started with guitar lessons, and this here is my ultimate goal. Thank you for sharing this.
