I can see Oscar nominations for the great Fernanda Torres (the daughter of Oscar-nominated Brazilian cinema and TV treasure Fernanda Montenegro) and the movie. Felicitationes!
Though the Oscar may be called the recognition to actors and filmmakers all over the world, it would certainly speak against it to repeat its mistake, denying to this great actress the same honor that was denied to her mother years ago. If she won't be awarded at the end of it all, let's let it go and remember that Art in itself is greater than any club's opinion, no matter how much reputation it has paid to have.
I loved this movie so much! I really hope he will be nominated for some Oscar categories! But the xenophobic barriers of the Oscar are very big! Hardly a non-American/European movie is indicated... let's hope...
The movie is good and well-produced, but its theme is outdated. Unfortunately, Brazilian cinema hasn’t evolved. What’s worse is that the actions of the left today aren’t much different from what the military did in the past. In the future, many films will explore the current regime, telling the stories of thousands of people harmed by a biased judiciary and supported by dishonest media. The hypocrisy of those who once demanded amnesty, now opposing it, will be revealed to future generations, exposing the truth about the Brazilian left wing which has been in power for more than 30 years and is responsible for the biggest corruption scandals, economic crises, deteriorating healthcare and education, crumbling infrastructure, high crime rates, and judicial instability.
@@fep_ptcp883 Lula, a corrupt politician, was freed by the Supreme Court, where nine out of eleven members were appointed by him, including his former lawyer, who overturned many convictions from the Car Wash trial. Now, the Supreme Court, backed by Lula’s government, is violating the constitution by arresting opposition figures, politicians, journalists, influencers, and even blocking platforms like X. Over the past two years, thousands of people have been arrested and sentenced to up to 17 years without a fair chance to defend themselves. Many didn’t even have access to lawyers, and those who did found their lawyers blocked from seeing the case files. The opposition is pushing for an amnesty to fix these injustices, but the Supreme Court, with Lula’s support and the silence of the traditional media, continues to ignore the issue.

I hope Fernanda gets recognition this awards season. She's so deserving!
Fernanda delivered probably the most beautiful performance I've seen in the last decade
"I'm Still Here" deserves all the praise and recognition in this forthcoming season 🏆
Walter Salles is a great movie maker!!! And Fernanda Torres has the genes of a great couple of actors!!
Fernanda é sempre tão humanizada em suas falas. Muito lindo vê-la falando sobre Eunice.
Coisa linda demais!!
Um filme imperdível!
Un retrato de um tempo. Lembrro dessa época😢
Congratulations!!! Parabéns!!!

Excuse me... amnesty for what?
