    Your tutorials are always the best! Your’s was the first channel I watched when I learned how to operate my first drone, the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum. Since then I’ve gotten into flying drones for a living and now use the Phantom 4 Pro, Inspire 2, the FPV (strictly for fun of course) the Mini 2 and the Mavic 3. I like the Mavic 3 more than the Inspire 2. Definitely among DJI’s best so far!

    Great video! Always liked you presentation style.
    Do you know if a tablet can be used on the one that comes with the screen so I can get a larger screen? Did that with my Mavic Air, but that one didn't have a screen in the remote. Thanks!

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to say. If you're using the DJI RC Pro, you might be able to HDMI or USB out to a tablet, but I've never tried. You can definitely use the mini HDMI out to display it on an external monitor but that's a bit more bulky and different than just a tablet.

    Confused. At video timer 13:35. Green battery indicator says "53" power remaining & just to right says 21'24". The pop-up says 21'24" Until battery depleted. Which should I follow?

    • @canonshoooter
      @canonshoooter ปีที่แล้ว

      I get it. Green indicator is battery power & the indicator to the right is measure of time remaining in min/secs.

  • @juani1065
    @juani1065 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great stuff Ed. For the active track, do you need to change the settings for the gimbal (under control)? Would it follow a person on a windsurf? If so how is the altitude controlled? Thank you

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both the drone and the gimbal will work together to keep the subject in frame during follow. It will follow almost anything, and a mixture of barometer and GPS will help keep the altitude. But sometimes the drone acts odd over water since it uses downward positioning sensors which may be confused by water.
      A big thing to consider is that the drone will follow something, but it will not move out of the way of something else moving toward it. So if you're out there making it chase a windsurfer, another boat or windsurfer could possibly collide with the drone. Obstacle avoidance really only works on static objects.

    Outstanding pedagogy as usual! You are really taking your time to pick the right expression and features on the Mavic 3. To be honest, your video and the video by CaseyNeistat on the Mavic Pro Platinum made me buy that one in 2017. I purchased a Mavic 3 last week, and all though I pride myself by calling myself a professional drone pilot, I absolutely enjoy and learn from your videos. Great job!

    Hi Ed, nice job, can this mavic 3 fly under rain conditions? Thanks.

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the drone may fly ok in very light rain, but anything more than that should not be attempted. At that point, the camera will become wet and the image it captures will not look good, so rain probably isn't a good thing all around for the drone.

      @@EdRickerVlogs Is it possible to change the return to home location while the drone is in flight ? The idea is to get the drone to land closer to you if you moved far away from the take off position ( in case of low batt or emergency). I saw a video where a dji got swept away by the wind and eventually returned to home. But the home positiion was far away from where the pilot moved to. She had to go far back to fetch the drone...

    Does anyone know how to tell what orientation the drone is in compared tot he pilot? On the Mavic Air 2S there was an icon on the screen that showed what direction you were flying in relation to the pilot. I cannot find that with the Mavic 3 Classic (remote with built in screen). Thanks for any help. :)

    Hi Ed, you really do a great job. I just made my first flight with my Mavic 3 Classic yesterday, and even though I have had a Mini 3 Pro for four months, I am a newbie to drones and of course still learning, but I picked up some great things in this video that I just didn't know. I sure do appreciate your videos! You should turn on your "Super Thanks" on your videos here so people like me can send you a few bucks for helping me. Happy New Year too!

      Thanks John! I love the Mavic 3 for a lot of reasons, but I do think the Mavic 2 is slightly easier to control. It just flies a bit smoother in my opinion. But the Mavic 3 has new sensitivity settings to dial it in a bit. If you've taken care of your Mavic 2 and could sell it for a decent price, that would help pay for the Mavic 3.

    Time 06:43, panik. Just leave the controls...... The wind carries the drone away.... Ended up ditching a 50$ drone yesterday.....
    Landing is also effected by the wind. If not steering against the wind the drone often topples over and stop up side down.
