you always meet yourself where you're at and start from there. If I were you, I would start from sitting on a chair with my hands/forearms on my thighs and start to retraining hip hinging patterns, and notice a difference between movements you initiate from your lower back and from your hips.

How do you do this when your hips are stiff and you can't squat enough to do this correctly,? 🙏
