100% ONLY motorcraft or OEM on these. Aftermarket does not last long or sometimes doesn't act right altogether on these. Just do it right & use quality parts the 1st time!!

You have the clearest instructions of any video I've ever seen. I appreciate you're honesty about the difficulty level ex. having to do things blind & the tools you've laid out before hand. You are the only one that has been actually been helpful by just sticking to the task at hand & not muddying it up with a bunch of unnecessary bullshit. P.S. be sure to video the next time you do a repair from start to finish so we can see the actual process in it's entirety. Thanks

I'm amazed at this video. I watched another video about the same thing and this other guy said he had to remove both fuel rails. You mentioned nothing about removing all the stuff he did. I have already dealt with the #4 coil and plug and really want to do the rest. I hope it's just as you described it without removing the fuel rails. I hope you will reply with the answer. Thanks for the heads up.

    • @ozzstars_cars

As I said in the video, pull up on the coil to release it from the sparkplug then bend slightly outward and up. No fuel rail removal is necessary in this case.

I just replaced all 8 plugs on my 2013 E350 and this video was a huge help! I was able to remove and replace all 8 plugs from inside the vehicle with little trouble. I will say that taking the extra 15 minutes to remove both front seats was a huge time saver as it made it much easier to reach all of the coils and plugs. I did remove the PCV valve hose as it was routed over plugs 2,3 & 4 as well as removing a bracket that held some other vacuum switch on the back of the intake plenum. I was careful to hand tighten all 8 plugs (about 8 turns) before putting a torque wrench on each one to get the torque set consistently at 11-14 ft.lbs. Overall it wasn't as difficult as I had suspected, about 3 hours of works at a leisurely pace.

    1 inch extension,
    Shorty 3/8th ratchet

Great video, thank you. Your camera work was good and left a clear field of view. I would add to make sure you blow out the area of the spark plugs after you pull the coil boot. Then blow it out again after you start turning the plugs out. You don't want anything falling down into the cylinder. I even go so far as to stick the compressor wand down into the spark plug hole and blow out the cylinder just before I install the new spark plug. You really don't want any junk going into the cylinders.

Thank you handsome. I have a miss so I'm gonna go replace them all since I don't have a scan tool. I bought the 2004 e250 about 3 months ago for $2,800 has way alot miles 273, 000. I know I should have waited but I was so tired of looking. It ran great. Air works, and i drive it everyday to work. I changed its oil & filter & air filter myself It doesn't like hills very much but apparently it's common with this year. But for some reason the battery was dead and I think it was the terminal hopefully. I cleaned it but it still messed up cause I haven't drove far enough to charge. The idle is rough big time., but it idles better when I turn on A/C. I work alittle on vehicles so Im gonna ck vacume hoses and replace sparkplugs. I plan on taking good care of this old van cause it's soon to be my home. I tore out all the metal shelving which was a pain for me I even had to cut some parts out with my grinder. I now have hardwood floor, frig/freezer, fake but looks real wood stove heater. My bed a fold down desk and some other things. Its cozy. I will do a video eventually. I just hope I can get to know my motor well so i can take care of her. I hope the plugs work and there's no more miss in the idle.I just decided I'm gonna put semi expensive sparkplug wires. Anyone have a van like mine?Which boots and wire set do you think is the best for this old van???

I'm not a vehicle mechanic and never done this type of job before but after getting a quote of $575 from our local repair shop on labor alone and I priced all 8 coils and spark plugs just shy of $300 it would have been a $875 repair plus anything else they may have found wrong ... TH-cam, your great video and about 3 hours of my labor job was completed and van was running so much better!!!
I may have another issue even though van seems to be running perfect at the moment. When I pulled 2 of the 8 spark plugs out some water came out with the spark plugs, do I have another more serious problem or is that normal?

I tried to swap the first plug today and applied as much force as seemed reasonable and does not budge. I don't think this is the notorious F-series breakage type engine I've read about but still.. Keep cranking? WD40? Thank you again.

The E Ford vans are 2 valve engines and not the dreaded 3 valve but the spark plugs can still strip out the threads or break off. They can be a bear to get out at times. Best to remove them with the engine hot, when you can because the heat helps expand the metal. If the threads do strip out or the plug snaps off you will need to repair the damaged cylinder head. Helicoils don't work well or last and it's best to use something like the Cal Van inserts amzn.to/321VnMH Good luck and hope for the best.

@@AdventuresofScoJen normally for the factory (oem) specified plugs (Motorcraft) at 43k miles would be half life including the coil. If the vehicle only has 43k miles on it I would be curious to know why the coil failed so early. It would not be unusual for an aftermarket non oem coil to fail early. I would make sure the plug is not damaged, such as carbon fouled or cracked porcelain causing a carbon trail.
