  • A dynamic lighting test for our new balustrade lighting on the ship's glass railings. This can be used to create any alert status, or any other special lighting scenario such as an alien virus infecting the ship.

As someone constantly fiddling around with Blender, I can appreciate the value of this....

The engineer should be able to program ship lighting and sounds. Literally maybe using some sort of JavaScript or C++ prompt where the engineer can run custom scripts that plug into the game.

Any possibility of the lights being shadow casting?

Sadly no, the rendering cost would be huge. Even with just a few lights casting shadows, performance tanks horribly. The only light in the game casting realtime shadows is the directional light from the local star. The game makes heavy use of Ambient Occlusion to create the illusion of shadow depth.
