Great vid and amazing looking bike. I think most people would have preferred the Bosch Gen 5 with the 800w, I find the race motor overrun almost unusable in most situations I ride.
I really like this bike, but the fact Pivot didn't put the updated rattle free motor, which is also going to get a software update raising torque to 100-110NM, is a bit bothersome...however, it is one of the best, if not the best all around long travel bikes out there
Serious question… Have you ridden a race motor/it’s totally different than a CX

It needs the gen 5 Bosch motor. I just sold my Trek Rail with the gen 4 motor because I couldn't take that incessant rattle on descents. It was making me crazy!! I'm in the market for a new long travel e-bike and will only look at bikes with the newest Bosch system.
Seriously mate, rattle?!?! … what flat track trails are you riding. I had a 2024 focus Sam2 with the gen4 race and at no point was I worried about a motor rattle, was too busy hanging off the back bombing trails with a massive smile on my face. If you want quiet, stick to your road toads or ride harder.
I am incredibly confused on what is going on in the industry here. This is a last generation motor, last generation battery and yet its a new bike? Why did Pivot and other manufacturers choose to use older tech? To save money on a new frame mold? I would like some information into Pivots decision here, anyone else curious?
I believe the Gen 5 has different mounting pattern vs Gen 4 so this bike is coming out already EOL. While it looks like a great bike I am not spending 11k on something that is immediately on life support from bosch.
@@EMTBReviewimpossible to not exist a communication between Pivot and Bosch at the start of development for the new model. Like I have said, it was an opportunity generated by the extremely good discount cost offered by Bosch for gen 4 items.
so sorry but, why on earth you would take the previous gen motors and batteries on a new, very expensive, bike? and why did they held it so long before realeasing it on the market?, what would have been worse..., to offer big discounts on shimano versions in stock or having now limited sales due to launching a bike with a technology that had just been replaced 1 month ago?, IMO, they should have gone with the big discounts on the shimano bikes...but hey, I'm no business planner at Pivot.

@@eugenux I was almost going to get a Santa Cruz Vala. Thankfully I was able to because of availability. I ended up getting a commencal TR power for half the price.
As always, very clear and well made videos. I ordered my Pivot, but it hasn't been delivered yet and I would like to order the Fox Neo coil shock absorber but I can't find the exact specifications mounted on the Pivot to order it. Could you kindly help me? thanks, see you soon
Is not a gen 5, the fixed battery is too hard to get it out to replace on the trips? The neo shock is useless on ebike even more useless on a race motor, it only locks for climbing not to catch the landings
Nice, that's a few pounds lighter than some e-mtbs. I'm interested in buying at some point. Maybe next year if they update their motors. The new battery's were also a little upgrade.
Every ebike this decade will be outdated by the time it launches. Just like iphones. :) But if it scratches the itch and gets one riding and smiling for the next few years, then it is money and technology well spent.

That's my prediction as well. The Fazua experience was full of problems initially and the promised range extender is not available. The universal Bosch Range Extender is the the slam-dunk
Really? That good? I can’t get my head around a bike with a fixed battery and an old Gen motor and battery system for THAT much money. I understand premium brands and products etc but what does this do better than the Wild or StriveON? (Both of which, spec for spec are massively cheaper… especially the Strive)
I am about to get the latest Orbea Wild very soon. Should be very good. That is a fine bike indeed and a worthy contender. Canyon Strive, haven't heard much about it aside from being a great value and lot of travel. I've tested several Canyon bikes and they ride ok. Not very active or agile. Always a great value though since consumer direct. Getting service for ebikes with them is very difficult.
@@EMTBReview You haven’t heard much about the Strive?! It has the same travel as the LT and recently won awards from Loam Wolf and Enduro MTB Magazine and was rated very highly by MBR and Rob Rides amongst others. You can’t judge all Canyon bikes because you have “tried several Canyons” 😂: the Strive, Spectral and Torque ride very differently. Like dealers, it depends where your nearest Bosch service centre is regarding how difficult warranty issues are. The Wild has basically been the consensus best EMTB around since its launch… you can’t say anything is the best without having ridden that. I like what you do btw, but sometimes I feel you’re very quick to declare “best” bikes having not ridden several of the top competitors.
@@EMTBReview Bummer in my case. Also, do you have an opinion on bike companies continuing to use 12 speed cassettes? I never use any of the large cogs on my Heckler and currently, I am going to pull my 11-42 9 speed cassette off a bike along with the shifters and chain to play with the tighter range. I already replaced the 34 tooth chain ring with a 36 and have been enjoying it. EMTBs should just run close road gearing IMO--but with fewer cogs.
Beautiful looking bike but last gen motor and battery plus that antiquated display means its a non starter for me. Bosch needs to get with the time and provide a proper build in display.
I don't think they offered really anything special here. Superboost has never caught on and makes wheel swaps and buying more trouble, Should have had the new motor with the 600 battery. The best thing going for this bike is the mullet/longer travel. I suspect when SC releases the bullit replacement, this bike is going to be forgotten. On the positive side, it looks good and the build quality should be one of the best out there.
Spec is unimpressive but it works really well for this bike. Fancy spec is often wasted on an ebike these days. DJI motor will not be available in the US for a year or two. Pinion will always be niche here.
Great for somebody your size, in XL the rear center is way too short, it's a shame because they finally got the stack almost right. As many have said it's also too bad they didn't get the gen 5 on this, it's clearly better, sound, sensor tech, things that really matter. Wait until you ride the Vala with the Shawble radials, you'll forget all about Conti's.

The funny thing with DJI is that the motor is so good that the bike itself is a generic non-factor. The thing that we DJI is it will not be available in the US for a while.
So many DJi fanboys are spamming all EMTB content… I’m convinced many are bots! Hardly any of these people will have actually ridden the AMflow and by all accounts the bike itself (not the motor) is fine, but nothing special… until that motor and battery system is used in some proper bikes it’s just a niche product for people who are only concerned about how fast they go up hills.
