Just Purchased a 2025 M10. This is by far the best bike I have ever ridden or owned. Last Bike was a Levo. No comparison at all to the Levo. The Levo is a Trail bike that's good at everything but the Orbea is GREAT at everything.
I love my Orbea Wild 2023. I have the face motor on it. It is an amazing bike and has allowed me to make sections I would not have before. It is harsh at low speed because it needs to go fast
It’s an epic ride, totally sorted and planted. I’m no superstar but it gives great confidence climbing and descending. Prefer the 29er setup for all round use. Maybe a little picky about the access to the rear shock, do we really need to know if it’s at 1.11%. Keep up the great work. You’re one of the few TH-camrs that give a great overview.
Sounds like you've got a great setup going! Glad the 29er setup is working out for you. Orbea knows how to make purpose-built bikes and they are ahead in this ebike category.
822 miles on my '24 Wild and it's been flawless. I demo'ed a Shuttle LT and owned an Oso for a little while but the Wild is hands down the better bike. The way it rides is just so good, especially after I put an EXT e-Storia on it a few hundred miles ago. And I agree it's really good at flying down the chunky stuff. I do think that the front end is very quick to turn, it feels very light compared especially to the Oso which felt more like a tank that ONLY wanted to go straight.
True true. The ext storia is a great match for it for compliance. The Shuttle LT needs to be the new one with the Bosch motor since it’s miles ahead of the previous one
@@EMTBReview I'll have to disagree with you a little here - the new LT really isn't anything other than a frame tweak to allow the Bosch (Gen4 - Race) motor instead of the Shimano motor. All of the other specs are basically identical. The LT was fun, no doubt, but it didn't inspire me with confidence like the Wild does. If you're referring to climbing performance with the Bosch motor, then I don't have an argument there because I haven't been on the new one.
WHAT A GREAT REVIEW/VIDEO!!! Great focus on the feel of the bike and small details you cannot find out by just reading specs. (I do think the guys from Loam Wolf, did say that it is not great if you just want to cruise around).
@EMTBReview I don't have much experience ebike wise, but I do have one year and 250m of blue trails on my Aventon Ramblas' motor. It seems like most have a little catching up to do. Don't get me wrong the A100 is not the pinnacle of motor design (I'm brand agnostic like you), but my point is these others need to really get it right going forward. Especially what with all the vertical integration that will continue to occur. Love your videos and insight man.
I have to 2023 model. Great bike. Yes, it is stiff. Especially compared to my Turbo Levo. Took out all the spacers from the shock hoping to make it more linear - it helped. Looking to get a coil DHX2 one day.
Thank you for the review! I went for the pivot shuttle Lt this will be my first emtb I had ordered the Orbea initially I love the color ways,But I was dreading the wait! I started researching and I read that it might be hard to obtain certain parts from Orbea and that it would take a while. The Bosch race motor in the Pivot is no joke. I fell in love instantly 😍
I'm doing a battle review between the Orbea Wild and the Pivot Shuttle LT. You chose well I think. The power of the Race motor is not really more but it is very usable and easy to access when needed. Supple ride too on the Shuttle LT. And yes, Pivot dealer support is very good here in the US.
Nice presentation. Thank you! Really enjoyed it. I bought the cheapest version, but will upgrade it with XT breaks. Let's see, how good the fork is. :)
My bikes have removable batteries. I dont live where I can ride anything decent, so when I do go somewhere I ride morning til night on several rides. I usually swap 3 or 4 batteries through out the day.
I agree with you on both counts. They had to update this bike to use the new Bosch Gen 5 with new motor mounts. When I tested the new Santa Cruz Vala, the Gen 5 on that was a bit noisy on climbs. Probably an early release because on this Orbea Wild, soooo quiet on climbs. Yes the new Bullit will likely have Bosch and Horst Link. we need that big Bosch battery on a Santa Cruz since the Vala did not offer a 750 or 800wh.
@ good to know that about the Wild. I like this Wild for sure. I currently ride Canyon strive ON with Bosch gen 4 race motor and SC bullit with the ep800 motor. I love the race motor and the Bullit 😂 Yeah, so many folks I know are jumping the ship from the brose and shimano fanbase over to Bosch. With the Horst link it doesn’t look Santacruz anymore. Let’s see what they do with the Bullit. Im all set to buy the next Bullit if Santacruz can do the magic!
Love your videos! Had been waiting for this one for so long and immediately I have questions. Regarding the overstifness do you think having an alloy frame as opposed to carbon help with creating some flex ?
I think the alloy frame will not help because Orbea will match stiffness numbers of the alloy bike to the carbon bike. I suspect they're targeting the same front triangle stiffness for a Small frame all the way to Extra Large. Thus for Extra Large buyers, the stiffness will feel more forgiving since the riders are heavier and more powerful.
@ thank you. I guess I will have to find and ride a demo bike to feel the ride myself! I know you have review on the Vala too and I trying to decide between the Wild and the Vala
Vala is better for most (except for the 600wh battery only). The Bullit should be coming out soon and it will match up the the Wild exactly and be more fun. My favorite is the 2024 Pivot Shuttle LT.
Now if Orbea would incorporate an aluminum split spin block system and get rid of the crappy plastic spin block it'd be golden. Sucks having to redo the brake cable every time the spin block breaks or..... Also would love a chain guide and guard system just for this bike because I haven't had any success finding one that fits. Crappy plastic guard broke of course. Have any of you all tried a O-chain on a Wild yet?
Wild. The SC Heckler is no longer competitive and has replaced by the SC Vala with the Bosch motor. The Bullit should be replaced very soon and should be a good match for this Orbea Wild.
Thank you very much for this very good, precise and honest test. Precisely, speaking of the Santa Cruz Vala how do you compare it with the Wild (in mullet)? Thank's
Great question. Although different travel on both these bikes with the Vala at 150/160mm and the Wild at 170/170mm, some folks may be trying to choose between the two bikes since they are both the latest Horst Link bikes with the Bosch CX5 motor I think the Vala will work better for most folks since it is fast, agile and supple. It's so easy to manhandle and throw around. And when it gets steep and rough, it's stable with with its stout rear end. The radial Schwalbe tires on the Vala too are an unfair advantage since they're so supple with lots of traction. Downside is the 600wh internal battery with no option for 750wh unlike the Wild. The Wild is great for tall, big guys who have very rough terrain and want to be fastest down to the bottom of the hill. I tested it as a mullet and I think it's a lot better in that config because of all that travel, length and height. But it really wasn't designed as a 27.5 rear and was just made to work with a link so not quite optimized.
I would go with the Pivot Shuttle LT. The Vala is a good bike but not enough travel. Also, the 600wh battery ONLY option is a not a great idea for most.
This is going to be the wave of the future. I estimate less than 10% actually remove their batteries. And making them removable requires big compromises
@ I disagree because many more than 10% live in apartments where they do not have the opportunity to have their bicycles and less than 90% live in houses with garage. I know of many people including me who have not bought Orbea because of the battery. I myself remove the battery 2-3 times a week because I ride ( commuting and leasure) ~7.000 annually, but I have no doubt that this will be the new standard that will cause big problems for many, including myself because I have no possibility for power outlet where my bike is stored. Sometimes innovation sucks..
Why does the front fork hit the frame when it turns? What happens if a rock hits the valve stem and breaks off the new sensor? The EP801 with the updated is a faster motor buddy. It doesn’t turn well because it is a 29’er. You speak on a lot of bikes but have only reviewed a few in real life.
EP801... lipstick on a pig and it's not even in the same class now. Gotta pedal like crazy to get the watts and crude programming available. Doesn't turn as sharp as the quickest bikes because of many reasons. Break off the new sensor.... good one. Pedal home.

Exactly it's a rocket 🚀
I love my 23 Wild LTD. I've got over 6500 KMS on it traveling all over the west coast. Super fun ride.
It is an absolute blast, isn't it? What is your height. You like the 29er setup?
@@EMTBReview I'm 5' 11" and love the 29" setup. To be fair I've never ridden a mullet.
@@outlandishmtb thank you for the share! If trails can get very tight where you are, and if your dropper post is very long, mullet is a good choice.

Its stiff

My hard tail would eat that trail up at 5:27! Looks fun. I'm highly interested in making a Wild or Rise my next ebike purchase.
