    Cool honest review 👌🏻 I'm a giant trinity & propel owner. But also a specialized fan boy tbh. But same I went with the Trinity and propel, vs. The venge and transition at the time... because of price; because the spec version of similar bikes were 2,500 to 3,000 $ more in price but the transition when observed had a faulty fork/headset design that rubbed itself to crumble on its proprietary edges when turning the fork all the way to left/right for car fitment. Which seemed like a design fail on specs part. So I got the Trinity and never looked back. Upgraded from a Kestrel Talon TT bike, been happy ever since. wba. I don't feel the NEED to upgrade it, since everything I ride it, people say "nice NEW bike". And they are surprised when I tell them it's like 5 or 6 years old, really. It is at the higher echelon of tt tech IMHO, so I'm staying w it for many a year. Done.

    Welcome to the team! What I would be careful building the bike are...
    Cable outer lengths - If it didn't come with the instruction manual, find one online. It tells you how long exactly you should.
    Cable outer quantity - Because of the routing around the stem, you need good quality ones. I used cheap ones first and had to replace all of them with Jagwire.
    Head tube protection stickers - you might want to stick them before you build the frame, so the metal parts are not gonna scratch the paint.
    Scree holes - I've got the TT version and the stem is quite thin in some spots. You might not have this problem because yours is the Tri version, but if it's like the TT, you can tape all holes. They prevent sweat and drink spills getting on the screws. Also a bit more aero too.
    I have some videos showing my Trinity too. The latest setup is in my video from Lahti. If you look at older videos, you get to see how I improved over the years.
    Good luck with Ironman next year! I'll be doing Hamburg and Frankfurt. I hope to see you on the course somewhere in the future. 💪🏻

      Thanks so much mate!! Especially for those pointers, I’ve been putting the bike together the last few days and glad I found these out now haha. I did luckily do a bit a research about the cable lengths so hopefully they’re all okay, but I didn’t about the others so thanks again dude! Really appreciate it. Good luck with your races also! 👊🏼

    Hey Lewis, Nice bike! I was wondering what size bike you got and your height. Im looking to get a trinity to but not sure about sizing. Cheers!

      Thanks mate! I went with a medium and I’m 5ft 10ish (little bit under). Reason being small was out of stock everywhere and also I was looking for a little bit more reach in my bike which the medium was in comparison so my old bike, plus all the other geometry of the bike fit me, i.e saddle range and how low I could get the tt bar etc., hope that helps!

    Hi Lewis, I just took the plunge as well, it seems to be a fact its the fastest bike also faster then any disc bike unless its a hilly course 🎉

      You’ll have to let me know how you get on with yours! Been putting my together the last few days, super excited to give it a test! Certainly looks the part, especially with the ezdisc! 👌🏼

    Hi, I am also interested in the same frame. Can you maybe tell me how much you end up paying for it? You make good content and just keep on doing good job.

    Looking forward to seeing it built up!!
    Also on another topic, on your run you mentioned your heart rate was a little high but still in zone 2. I know you said before about your heart being fairly high, interested to see what method you use to determine your zones?

    • @LewisFordham
      @LewisFordham  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! Yeah my heart rate is crazy high, my zone 2 is anything up to like 170bpm, which I know sounds really wrong as it’s so high but my max HR is like 212 or something ridiculous. I never really used any specific method, I kinda looked at all the methods and then averaged them. So for example, using a calculator with your max hr and resting hr to find your zones, also doing a threshold test to find your threshold hr and then find your zones using that (my threshold is 193bpm to give you some perspective). I don’t think any calculator/method is going to give your exact zones, plus your zones change on a daily basis for loads of reasons so I just almost averaged a few different methods out to give me a good idea, if that makes sense!

    • @Scottnikki88
      @Scottnikki88 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LewisFordham thanks for that, and interesting. My max heart rate is 200 (using a Garmin chest heart rate monitor) so whenever I see most people zone 2 it’s like 130-140! I have tried to run/jog at this HR but it doesn’t last for long lol

    I’m looking at the same bike frame would you recommend and did it come with a bottom bracket included before I buy one to go with it 😊

    • @LewisFordham
      @LewisFordham  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate! I don’t think it did if I remember correctly, I had to buy one :)

    Had one for about a year now and it does feel rapid. If you work out the plastic covering that protects the rear brake, let me know. Bit of a faff to get on. Look forward to hear how you get on with it.

      @LewisFordham  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hahaha I haven’t got that far into building it yet, still trying to work out how to stop just one side of the brake moving when I pull it 😂 but if I figure it out I’ll let you know haha
