Allegra Clark as Mitsuru is so funny to me, given Tara Platt was Edelgard to her Dorothea in Three Houses. It's like she got "promoted" in a sense and I'm all for it.
What sells it out is how Dorothea kept on teasing Edelgard about wanting to portray her in an opera in their Supports (Dorothea outright telling Edie to not worry because she will be fabulous as her, to which she was spot on about.) This got me thinking Edelgard finally gave in and was like "Alright, you can have your opera. I'll be in the elevator with a strange long-nosed man if you need me."
I wish Akihiko's voice actor also had the line of "Where have you been?" just because it's really funny to me lmaoooo but honestly yeah the voice actors for P3R did phenomenally

Yeah I am convinced of the new VAs except for 1 that they passed with flying colors and that is Yukari, Junpei, Mitsuru, Makoto, and Fuuka because all of those VAs nailed their lines perfectly. Especially Junpei and Yukari lines of the Junpei Ace Detective and Stupei Ace Defective those lines were nailed perfectly. God damnit I cannot unhear Dorthea's voice from Fire Emblem 3 houses in Allegra Clark's voicing of Mitsuru. However Akihiko's new VA was very weak at this point and the weakest one out of any of the members of SEES. However there is tons of room for improvement.
His sound is a lot more deeper and sounded more like 30s YO man, but after playing the game I'd say it's okay (other than his battle dialogue) mostly are fine
Unfortunately for me I just couldn't get into his new VA, almost about to finish P3R and the whole way I was missing the previously iconic "I've been waiting for this" and "Did you see that Shinji?"

I’ve actually heard deeper voices from boys younger than him, one I can even name from elementary school (but he was a rarity to be fair). Plus Akihiko is a third year, so he’s 17-18, so he would have at least ending near his deep voice. I think him having a smooth, serious voice contrasts nicely with his secretly awkward-around-girls character trait cause you wouldn’t expect that from someone with that voice. I was afraid that wouldn't translate. That's not to say I don't think she'll do a good job overall. I just liked Yukari's occasional abrasive tone, just felt like the line came off more like banter here, and less like a scolding. Whereas in the original it felt more like an "I'm annoyed with you" scolding, and less like banter.
I'm mixed on the VA, in some ways I like it better, but it just kind of hits different, you know? It's definitely not bad, though... The mocking tone is definitely still there, which is good, but the subtle harshness of the original line isn't really there (which indicated to me that she was particularly annoyed), and it makes Yukari come off different to me, less abrasive, maybe even a bit more playful in tone. Her tone in the original indicated to me that she doesn't have a terribly high opinion of Junpei. Felt more like a scolding, than banter. This feels more like banter than a scolding.

Its a remake from scratch after all, and if atlus really wanted a copy of akihikos voice I doubt they would've hired a VA with such a different voice.
