trans gender is not a separate gender but an adjective and the fact that most of india treats trans gender as a separate gender is still backwards. And gender is not only three but a spectrum.
Gauri's gender is female not transgender although she is a trans woman.

Transgenders or the "third gender" has been an accepted part of Indian society all the way from Ancient India. Now thats not to say that they don't face discrimination - they absolutely do. But the stage where they're seen as "others" in society was over many many hundreds if not thousands of years ago. They have always been a fact of life, so we're not as weirded out by the idea as the West seems to be. From my perspective it seems like the West is still having a hard time accepting the existence of transgendered people at all.
Now, don't get me wrong I'm not saying we are a less discriminatory society, but I'm saying that the stages of acceptance are radically different due in part to just how old Indian culture is. Some of our Gods have third gender representations and they exist in the mythology as well.

They literally stooped to begging and extorting.

India was very progressive and tolerant of all people compared to the world a long time ago ( evidence is in he statues the sun temple in orissa)...but then after the moghul invasions and British rule...we learnt intolerance ( they even distroyed a lot of these statutes depicting homosexuality etc.)....and now India has really fallen back...but ads like this are slowing bringing my country back to its previous glory...
Really go back and read good books on Indian history. It all started way back in 1st century AD and stupid religious practices started way back in5 th century BC. Don't blame everything on foreign invasion, they were a fraction of people. Although British so much harm to India in terms of economy but Mughals were tolerant, they granted money for Hindu festival and a lot more things that you need to study, initially they destroyed few temples but that is a part of every war and invasion it was a different time, later on they cooperated with Hindus in their own interest and Indian economy was thriving at that time around 28% if global GDP and one third of global trade..... Sati, widow remarriage, caste system and Untouchabilty all became rigid from the times of Chandragupta maurya and Harshavardhan
And yes you are right, west had not a civilization back then, as great as India did

While few things like whether Tipu Sultan was tolerant or not is debated among two professors, so I have not mentioned him... "Our own history" What do you mean by that? The history of Hinuism?? This motherland that belongs to "Indians" today belongs to everyone. This debate of identity of India as Hindu is false. India was constructed by the feeling of people having came together to share a piece of land with common goals of progress on the eve of 1947. And that is our identity. Humans have travelled across the world in the past. Before Hinduism spread in the sub continent tribals had their own religion and the land belonged to them those were then scared away to live in jungles. At 2nd centuary BC almost all of today's India was Buddhist, then Brahmisnism was re establishes by Pushyamitra. How did a religion so prominent Buddhism at one time ended so much that today we have less than 0.7℅ Buddhist in the country? What happened in between? Well there is not much written about it in the history. But it thrived if you just step out of India's border, and no trace in India, how??? Do you think it happened without any persecution??
India's today has a Sanskrit, Urdu, Angelised culture. And if you see today a women in Kolkata or Bangaluru dressed like English women or talking in English.. She is not a wanna be Westerner. She is every bit an Indian because that's also part of our culture today that Britishers left us with.

This is is indeed an emotional one. To give a background, homosexuality was illegal in India by reason of an archaic law which was brought in during the British rule. The controversial article 377 was recently struck down by t country's supreme Court thereby clearing the path for legal acceptance. That's t reason for t girl wanting to become a lawyer Coz when this was released, it was still illegal. At a social level it is similar to what u said in your country.. There are liberals and there are conservatives. As a culture, we are relatively much more Conservative than that of yours probably.

Indian culture was never conservative. You North Indians, please do visit any south temple. You have the entire Kamasutra poses depicted on the temples and the purpose was not to promote porn but to promote education on Sex. India was a very open country, that the Muslim invasion and British rule destroyed. And now people like me need to fight ignorant Indians on their one culture and make them more open. Cause we will only be a great nation if we are open like we were in our history.

Just fyi,
Indian civilization was way ahead of rest of the world around 1000 years back. Social justice, women equality, good governance etc was all there. Indian society was an epitome for the rest of the world (with few minor exceptions here & there). But last 1000 years of constant invasions, oppressive rulers, and conversions polluted the original rich culture. What you see today (population, poverty etc) is the residue of 1000 years of wrongdoings. Indians still have old values imbibed and in few hundred years, she will rise to the old glory.

The problem with INDIA is Every Western Country refers to India as "The Third World" No matter how rapidly India develops, INDIA will always termed as "THE UNDERDOGS".
But the western Country does not know "WE THE UNDERDOGS" are way ahead of them in every term of life | by 2050 India will be a Leading Country in terms of every things.
And we were way ahead of everybody earlier in terms of most of the things, resources, tech., knowledge, etc. But then came invasion. But we soon gonna be at the top soon, as you mentioned.

These commercials are only available on the internet. Not shown on tv
ads in India also run from 30 seconds to a minute on TV, you guys are just watching the extended version that releases on TH-cam
I think these ads are a whole different category of advertisements. Instead of appealing to consumers directly by advertising the product, they seem to be appealing to the consumers morality, by simply stating that they are associated with plain moral goodness. That is a fantastic idea.

These are digital ads, for campaigns and stuff. TV commercials are like upto 35 seconds max. Very rarely are they longer. Sometimes they shorten these ads to fit 35 seconds too.

America is a great country, they have set some great examples for the world specially about freedom of expression and it's citizens
These ads are not usually put on TV but they are usually put on some special events, promotion activities. We too have 5 to 10 second ads.
