REACHING THE REMOTEST BORDER VILLAGES OF KINNAUR | Tashigang & Namgya | INDO-TIBET TRADE secrets

- Many people, even locals, confuse one of these two villages as belonging to the Spiti Valley. However, this is not the case.
Tashigang, which shares its name with a village in Spiti, and Namgya, fall in the Kinnaur Valley, near the Khab Sangam confluence point.
Both of these villages are very close to the Indo-Tibet Border, or the Chinese border, in Himachal Pradesh.
Reaching here was also not easy, as they are quite remotely located, with Tashigang not even having a tarred road as of now.
The Tashigang village in the Kinnaur Valley is known among the local people for its mysterious old monastery where Guru Padmasambhava meditated.
From here, Shipki La, the gateway to the China border, is just a few kilometers away.
