Sir, thank you so much for sharing this video. I have been praying for years now that someone could teach me hymn playing because I've been stucked on using only the basic chords and soprano notes. And this course here is such an answered prayer. May God bless you more and more Sir. I am from the Philippines by the way. ☺️
Thank you so much for your videos. This is what I have been looking for. I want to play hymns. I have work with the stride pattern years ago but I didn't know about checking my chords. I have tried to work with the three notes in the right hand and find difficulty trying to work it an octave above. But I will work on it now.
I love these instructional videos. I am trying to learn all I can. I learned the three note chords in the left hand and I am so happy to have found your videos. Thank you.
Great information!! I wish I could purchase the "Soul Stirring" songbook in spiral bound format. I googled and found it BUT out of stock or no longer available. ha
@@excellenceinchurchmusic3170 Perhaps, I was "looking in all the wrong places." ha I'll keep googling! I WAS looking in one wrong place. ha I have found a source for a spiral - bound edition. Thanks for your interest.
I wish methods books would "teach" this fuller right-hand playing. It would be especially nice in the "intermediate" books/beyond and/for adult piano students. The authors of these methods books might think that it is too much to which to expose a student?
I’m hoping to eventually write a book on hymn playing and include explanations of all these methods, as well as exercises and examples to accompany each technique.
@@excellenceinchurchmusic3170 That will be nice! I've had numerous lessons but didn't go far enough to learn many of the details of chording, embellishment, etc.

You are truly a teacher. Thank you for doing this.
By far the most understandable lessons I have found ! I knew I shouldn’t just play directly out of the hymnal, but didn’t know how.
This is exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you so much.
These are wonderful videos, very helpful . Thank you. I love your suit and tie ! 😊 i am enjoying your tutorials !

That’s interesting, we just purchased these ones for the school where I teach a few years back. Hopefully you can get ahold of one!
