I've been using the Pro2 and T2 a few years since released before purchased my H1. In my opinion, H1 is just the perfect size. It is not too small (T series is considered a bit too small to comfortably use it in extended time) and not too big. The dials and buttons are much better quality and you can tell they did more homework for H series. I'd say if you shoot once a while and shoot casually, T series is fine. But for serious photography, H series all the way. And those who think H series is too big for mirrorless, they can always go for Playstation A7 series..
I'm a Fuji lover and I actually just started my own channel and I film all of it with my XH1. Had a quick suggestion, you can take it with a grain of salt, have you ever thought of doing separate shots to accompany this video, adding some close-ups (insert shots) of the camera and dials, etc rather than putting the product to the camera each time and relying on the autofocus. I believe insert shots tell a cleaner story and makes videos more dynamic rather than a stagnant tripod shot. Also, it's easy to edit because you don't need to add audio to them, just leak your voice over. Overall, love your enthusiasm you have for your gear, and weirdly, at times I just like to see just solo shots of the gear, because lets face it...Fujifilm makes beautiful cameras haha. Great work, love your stuff Fred.
I can confirm your observations about capture One.I recently purchased Capture one fujifilm pro. When i import RAF files across editors, capture one straight out of the gate recognizes sharpness and significantly reduces noise. It also has the truest colours of fuji film simulations. By comparison I only use On1 raw or lightroom for jpegs now. Capture One, in my opinion is the superior editor for handling Fuji files. (To the degree that even images at 6400 iso appear impressively clean. (I suspect L.R and On1 perform some form of pixel rendering that aggressively interprets RAF data and as result alters colour significantly and emphasizes noise. The difference is chalk and cheese with how well C1 handles fuji files. Even overlaying LUT's on fuji images in L.R and On1 look significantly different and oddly bright gamma levels in comparison to C1. I still use other editors for specific tasks, but C1 have done a solid job with their fujifilm pro release.)
I bought an XT30 for photos only, but I simply love the XH1 body style. The grip and eInk display and IBIS. I think I want a second body for stills. Don’t get me wrong the XT30 is great all around, it’s just such a tiny body it feels flimsy.
Recently picked up the XH1 (for just over 800 new!) instead of XT3 purely because I need handheld video. No use being 10-bit 4K / 60 if it’s a jittery, jerky mess. Also love the bulkier body on the XH1. That XT series grip is too small for the rest of the camera for my hands. No doubt XT3 is a very good camera but only good for video on a tripod or gimbal which is way more load and inconvenience. Nice stills improvements though.
missed out two pro's for the X H 1, there are TWO SD cards, and they are accessible from the side, NOT behind the battery compartment cover :) , so you don't have to take the grip off the camera every time the card/s fill up.( also saves wear on the door hinge).
Loved the content on this one Fred, good comparison. The recent price drop made me decide to go for the X-H1 mainly because of the body style and the fact that it's Made in Japan. I was already familiar with the performance and it performs better then my X-Pro2, recently a friend of mine took my X-H1 to a concert and shot some low light images and they turned out really great! Keep up the good work and a review of Capture One sounds good!
I’ve learned to love the smaller grip in the xt3, dunno what it is about it maybe just got used to it but I prefer it now over a larger grip, the camera feels really comfortable in portrait mode especially combined with the flip screen. It just works so well imo. Great video keep em coming 👍
X-t3 is also my 1st fuji I have x-large hand still having trouble navigating the buttons I've even tried to find each function in the dark The menu I'm learning thanks to Fred ranger
I can't really talk about the new sensor as I've not tried it but having the old one I really can say changing over to Capture One from lighroom there was a huge difference in the quality. Never going back.
X-t3 is also my 1st fuji I have x-large hand still having trouble navigating the buttons I've even tried to find each function in the dark The menu I'm learning thanks to Fred ranger
I'm currently using X-T1 and I've always brought with me the 16-55 during my travels. I'm currently thinking of upgrading to either X-T3 or X-H1. X-H1 looks great but the dilemma that I have is that it looks bulky considering I have small hands. I think I'll go for X-T3. Nice review, Fred. PS. You have a nice voice.
@@FredRanger I bought both. Xt3 with the older primes and the xh1 with the zooms and 90mm. I prefer the handling of the XH1 but I find myself shooting the Xt3 more because the focus is so much faster on older lenses.
X-t3 is also my 1st fuji I have x-large hand still having trouble navigating the buttons I've even tried to find each function in the dark The menu I'm learning thanks to Fred ranger
I went with the X-H1 w/grip on the blowout sale price. I have mostly Fuji primes without OIS and wanted to shoot stable video. I also wanted the better handling of the larger grip. I have zero regrets. The X-H1 is a YUGE upgrade over my X-T1. I love the handling and usability of the X-H1. The video is more than good enough for me and the IBIS is incredible. Sharp pics at 1/8th of a second with my 56mm. Impossible with an X-T3 (without a tripod).
I made the same move but from the XT2 to XH1 during the recent sale instead of upgrading to XT3. I have all the the 1.4 primes as well as the 56 and 90 so the IBIS was on my list of requirements for shooting in low light.
@@Musatainment 1299 with grip and 2 extra batteries from adorama. The kit is effectively about $900 dollars off the release price. Fujifilm already confirmed this sale will be ending and is not the new regular price of the camera.
@@Musatainment Had the same dilemma. Do you need to shoot in 4k 60p and 400mbs for easier grading? And do you require more reliable face/eye autofocus and on camera headphone jack? Then get the Xt3. If you're doing talking head stuff, either will be fine except you need grip on xh1 to monitor audio. You need a gimbal for either camera if you're making any cinematic clips as the IBIS in the xh1 isn't good enough for handheld walking but it is good enough for some handheld panning with firmware 2.0. For photos, obvious advantages to XH1 as IBIS let's you shoot all those non-stabalized lenses at lower shutter speeds/ISO for cleaner images.
@@beelievedesignphotography4347 They both have it. It's more responsive on the A7iii, but the recent firmware update on the T3 improved it so now it follows the eyes more easily.
@@beelievedesignphotography4347 It does have eye focus for stills (less reliable and responsive than the T3 and A7iii) and it doesn't cover 100% of the sensor so you will have to focus towards the center of the screen.
For me, the X-T3 is a great camera to take with little primes and the X-H1 is the right one to use with zooms. The ibis makes a huge improvement with the 100-400 for instance. The only thing a really hate of the X-H1 is his battery life. This shit seems to be a Tesla using power. You can literally see the power bars disappearing one after the other. One battery of any dslr last much longer than three batteries together using the Battery grip on the X-H1. Everything else is brilliant
I'm loving my XH-1 too, although I haven't tried the X-T3 I do still have my old X-T2. I have large hands too and love the ergonomics of the X-H1 - especially the feather touch shutter release button and the silky quiet shutter mechanism. I shoot stills rather than video but appreciate the IBIS with my non-OIS lenses, especially in lower light situations. I’m going to wait for the XH-2. If it includes the same sensor, processor and AF system as the X-T3 (or better) and adds the flip-around capability to the vari-angle screen then it should be my perfect camera. It is worth mentioning that I have dropped my XH-1 hard, twice (once to three steps of the stone stairway in a castle and once more to the granite cobbled street in Prague). Although I damaged a lens (bent zoom barrel) on the castle stairs the X-H1 body survived without any issues (some dinks in the mag-alloy case) but nothing that affects the operation or functionality of the camera. A brick. When you say it is heavy and not so good for travel… the robustness is a pro and I think it could survive harsh outdoor treatment along with the very best of them. Cheers for the comparison, very informative, thanks!
@@FredRanger i do welcome the ibis as i think of doing some handheld shoot occasionally. Anyway, i just can't make up my mind to make the jump for xh1, would the 8bit 420 be a problem if i just shoot eterna and do minor adjusting? I'm thinking of shooting manual lenses so af won't be an issue.
I wanna tell you some thing about the noise XT3 has 26 mp and XH1 has 24 MP and both of them have same sensor size So, in this case we got somthing different which is size of single pixle point in XT3 a little bit smaller than XH1 that's why you got some of noise in low light location.
Fred Ranger thanks for the reply...for now I’ll just have to stay tuned to your channel and hopefully I will hear it from you! Keep up the great channel!
XH2 isn't happening until 2020 at the earliest. Later this year, December probably...will be the X-Pro 3, as well as a possibly x100F successor, but that's it from Fuji for this year.
I love the XH1 I was forever asking Fuji for IBIS in a body so I could get the best from those gorgeous XF prime lenses. I own or have owned all the X bodies barring XPro 2 body. I now shoot with a pair of XH1 bodies, I’m a stills only shooter and have never used the video function. So thank you fuji for giving your users what they want 😊👍 Plus for me is also the fact they stayed with the same batteries and the new top display with the better faster exposure compensation dial👍add the better grip they have done and for me it’s the perfect camera with the best optical glass out there. Thanks for the excellent video and comparison and please keep them coming I have just subscribed 😊
@@FredRanger I agree on vintage point but as an owner of x100f for streets, I feel my silver is begging more attention than if I had black or maybe it has nothing to do with silver but it is my good look!😀
IBIS would be great in the XT3...but why aren’t people investing in gimbals more? If the smoothest video is what you are after, why would anybody rely on the IBIS when a gimbal will give you a far better result?
because who tf actually wants to carry around a gimbal all day? it's just one more thing to worry about charge/batteries... they also cost hundreds of $$
Jeremy You’re not wrong...but if you’re spending $1500 on a camera then an extra $300 is not insane. Especially because you can use the gimbal with your future cameras as well. Also, if stability is a huge concern of yours, or anybody’s, you should probably be investing in a gimbal anyways. Obviously my opinion...but just saying.
I was considering XH1 for the IBIS which is helpful for street photography, but I also want to travel light and only have a sling on me so I think I'll go x-t3 and 18-55mm combo, was firm on the XH1 and 16-55mm combo....
@@FredRanger I've not heard of that lens, when I was researching for the single general purpose lens, everyone raved about the 18-55, or the 16-55, a quick search show 16-80 is about 1000 aud, in comparison a second hand 18-55 is only 320 aud and 16-55 is about 1100 aud. With those price in mind which would you choose? Meanwhile I'll read up more about the 16-80.
are any of these cameras in the quality range of say the pro mirrorless full frame cameras of sony, canon and nikon....? Because after all thats really the bottom line...
I can definitely say that the gap between APSC and FF has closed in the recent years. You will still usually get slightly more dynamic range, better low light performance, and shallower depth of field, but given the quality of crop these days, it becomes a personal decision. In the end people don’t look at photos saying “what a great full frame shot” if the image/story is good, it doesn’t matter the tool you used to capture it. Cheers!
Hello Fred. I'm hesitating between both of them. I'm rather a photographer and was first going towards the X-T3, but as my hands are more and more shaking with years, I don't know what to do. So I'm hesitating between the X-T3 with 18-55 2.8-4 stabilized, and the X-H1 with the 16-55 2.8 non-stabilized. What would you if you were me ?
If you are planning on shooting video with it, it will be worth the price given that the battery life on the H1 isn't great + you will get a headphone jack. Cheers!
@@FredRanger Thank you, Unfortunately the Battery grip was discontinued so I couldn't order it, however I managed to purchase a 50mmf2 lens instead and a spare battery. Hopefully in a few months/years a second hand grip will turn up
I'll be having my first fuji camera. With the bargain currently on XH-1+VBP (around $1000) would you recommend me to get one, or should i just be patient, buy an X-T100 bundled with 35 f2 & 50 f2, and swap the body when X-H2 is out?
Prajogo Atmaja depends on what you want to shoot the most. The zoom is a great all around lens and the 35 is an awesome fast focussing weather sealed f2 prime
What camera do you prefer for low light photography? I know the xt3 has the backlit sensor but the xh1 has IBIS so you can shoot with longer shutter speeds.
The X-H1 because of IBIS for low light. it gives you up to 5 stops when using stabilized lenses. I can easily shoot at 1/30th of a sec on certain lenses handheld.
Which one do you think should i get, the XT3 or XH1? I’ll use it as a vlogging camera, I do like walking style vlogging and I just have the 16-50mm [3,5] lens, if i pick the XT3 one, is the OIS on those lens will work properly? I am very confused about those 2 camera, If I pick the XT3, I’m afraid about the IBIS, but if I pick the XH1, many people says that the autofocus in the XH1 is not great as the XT3. Thank you :)
All those things are true, that's why it's a tricky choice. My recommendation would be to wait for an X-H2 with IBIS and the AF of the X-T3. But if you can't wait and need extra stabilization, I would go with the X-H1. If you need absolute best image quality and fastest AF AND ready to live with shakier footage, then the T3!
Fred Ranger Yeaah, thats super tricky and hardly choices 😭, those 2 cameras made me super super confused. But, does the XT3 with the OIS [Especially with the lenses that i mention it before] still will be too shaky for vlogging?
@@naufalhisyamfasya8288 Depends on how steady your hands are. The other option you have if you want super stable footage with maximum image quality is X-T3 with a small gimble like the Webill Lab from Zhiyun: amzn.to/2XSNJEz
Hello, In india, both XH1 with grip and XT3 are selling at same cost. I want a professional camera for photography, which one could I choose? Has the autofocus gotten any better in XH1 after firmware update? Also i don't plan to use the grip, will xH1 battery hamper my shooting experience? Thanks you for such helpful videos! (I like the handling of xH1 better but want to carefully choose as this is a long term investment for me)
You can’t go wrong with either or. If IBIS is a must, than your choice is simple: X-H1. The AF is good enough and the grip is so comfortable. You will need a lot of batteries though. You will find more robust video features and codec on the X-T3 but your are foregoing IBIS. The X-T4 really addresses both, but I understand it is more expansive. Choices, there are so many ;-) Like I said you will have fun shooting with both, so go ahead and start creating! Cheers!
I am considering switching to the XT3 from Canon but the issues with processing RAF files in my older version of lightroom has popped up a yellow flag. I'm not interested in upgrading to an Adobe subscription. What I'm gathering is I would have to convert to DNG first?
The X-H1 is big, bulky and heavy! I feels like a Fullframe DLSR. In my opinion only worth for photographer who need IBIS and videographer. Every other should go with the X-T3 as its the better camera overall besides IBIS.
@@FredRanger I do have bigger hands too :D. I used the XH1 myself for one year almost. Fuji always made smaller cameras for the small sensor. And thats the reason why Fuji reduced the price so dramatically. The just didn sell enough because it was not like the Fujis before. Sure there are a lot of people appreciating the size etc of this camera, but fact is, they didn sell good so the price dropped so fast! The Xpro2 which was released 2016 and its almost the same price now :D. I am not sure a XH2 will arrive soon because of the bad selling. As I said, I have big hands too and I appreciated the grip but the battery life is more than sh** and with my 16-55 it felt like a big bulky DSLR and that was not the purpose of the Fujifilm Cameras especially because they are mirrorless. So at the end its the IBIS which makes it great for videographer and people dealing with bad lighting for still photography. You dont have any benefit shooting people with a slow shutterspeed. Greetz ;)
@@aldeen1982 Yup, it's literally X-T2 tech + with IBIS with a bigger body to accommodate for it. The improved battery life needs to come to ALL Fuji cameras (except GFX which does well on that side).
Happy 2019, Fred! Coming from an X-Pro2 to the X-T3, I certainly agree that the new senor and engine yield sharper, more detailed images, particularly at Base ISO, in good light, and when using a solid tripod! As I don't print larger than 20"x30", to mitigate the relatively small sensor size (compared to FF or MF) when shooting products, I employ focus-stacking, using the camera plus the ultra-sharp Fujinon 80mm f/2.8 Macro lens, on a sturdy tripod. When combining up to about 65 images in post, I can rival FF and possibly approach medium format in terms of sharpness and detail retention. As I don't shoot video, and always use a tripod for maximum sharpness, the X-H1 with IBIS didn't interest me, although I do like the grip and beefier lens mount! Why Fuji didn't keep at least the better lens mount in the X-T3 going forward, is beyond me! Thanks, and enjoy photography!
Did the autofocus get any better on the XH1? Also looking forward to the CaptureOne review. I've noticed this noise issue and after looking into it, saw a bunch of Fuji owners jumping ship to it
Just as I was about to jump ship to fujifilm xt3 or xh1 I came across in the Fuji forum complaints of these cameras freezing/ blacking out by virtually every single member. However, I'm still keen. Can you allay my fears and encourage. Or, am I better off with my huge Nikon gears?
So I recently bought the 50-140 Fuji so I’m trying to decide on what body to buy next. The choice for me was between the xh1 and xt3, the consensus seems to be that the xt3 would out perform the xh1 for action sports high is what I’d mostly use it for.
Hi Fred, thanks for the video mate. I'm looking at buying the xh1, I really like the look of it. I keep reading though, that it suffers with lock ups. That seems to be a recurring theme that I've seen on many forums. Have you had any problems with this? I've heard better quality sd cards help, but it really makes me hesitant about investing in the xh1 if there will be lots of problems with it. Thanks again 😁
Thanks for the comment. I haven’t experienced any lockup’s on my end. I’m using fast Sandusky and Lexar cards. Maybe it helps indeed, and the recent firmware updates helps. I ended up selling it, not because I didn’t like it, more because I have too many cameras and needed to test another one for the channel. Let me know how your experience goes!
@@FredRanger thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. That does put my mind at ease about buying one. I'll let you know once I've bought it. Cheers buddy 😎
Hello again Fred. I ended up getting the xh1 about a month ago and............. I love it! I only started photography a few months ago with an Olympus omd em10 mark ii (which I also loved but it was too small), so i dont have much to compare to, but this camera is incredible. I had trouble with it locking up straight away with a lexar 300mbs sd card, I couldn't believe it 😂. I bought a 150mbs SanDisk and it's working like a dream. Thanks again for helping me make a decision on the camera mate, I'm officially a Fuji shooter now 😎✌❤

Fred Ranger with the XT2 also in Video but it just work in 1080p not in 4K and not really eye focus just "Head"? AF so you have first to switch to full HD
@@FredRanger I am actually curious how much better is the autofocus. I have seen all the different test ppl do on sony and said the eye af is so gd (which I have it) and says how fuji xh1 is not even close. But I dont find sony a7iii eye af to be extremely gd. sometimes i think my xt20 gets the eye better. I am confused.
It will, but it depends what lens you put on it. Ideally it would be one of the smaller lenses like the f2 lenses or the 18-55mm. I love mine! Just shot an entire pro video with an X-T3 and a Fujinon 16mm f/1.4 and it handled it o perfectly!
nice video man. i’d include the close ups that someone already mentioned below..as well. but i like your style, ver honest and without that youtube flair that a lot of you tubers rock bees days. congrats. i ant an IBIS body with 10bit recording..so i’m waiting on the X-H2.
Fred Ranger i’ve got the A7III and the Zhiyun gimbal..albeit the Crane 2. i wish i had the new one you’ve got.. it’s way smaller and adds the compatibility for the phone as 2nd screen. as for the x-h1...i tried it..and i actually didn’t like the grip that much. i got the sony due to preferring the ergonomics, and preferring their batteries. i’ll drain 3 fuji batteries while keeping the one, on my A7III. I love the Fuji look, though. :) so sooner or later i’ll get the 2nd fuji body. cheers from Portugal i’m subscribing ;) btw
Hey Fred! Mike here... i‘ve been watching your Videos now and i am using the Fuji XT 2 now quite a while and i am looking to upgrade my Equipment... i have a Question and i would love to hear your opinion. My Problem is that i love Photography and Videography and i often do both at the same time. What would you recommend in this case?? XH-1 or XT-3
If you plan on shooting handheld, I would definitely go with the X-H1. If you want the best video quality and the fastest AF, the X-T3, but you will probably need a gimble because of the lack of in body image stabilization.
Hey Fred! Another question i hope you can help me out. Is the Imagequality that much more noticable between the XT-3 and XH-1?? What is your impression?? Greets Mike
Michael Bondoc Not so that you can spot which shot was made with one or the other. The main differences are that the AF is a little more accurate since it covers 100% of the sensor. Outside of that, I find that some of the shots are a tad sharper on the T3, but I wouldn’t sweat over it!
I also love my X-H1. I wanted it so badly I bought it when it came out for $1800 body only. The shutter and IBIS are great, but I feel raped as a loyal customer who likes to buy the newest model as soon as it comes out. Why? You can now - just 10 months later - get an X-H1 + the battery grip with extra batteries for $1299. Might be great for the retailers to clear their inventory of cameras that aren’t selling but not good for me or you when trying to resell it and I don’t think it’s too good for the brand in general. When they come out with an X-H2 my $1800 investment will be worth about $400 on a trade-in. NOT COOL! Seems like a panic sell and gives the impression the thing was only worth $1299 from day one. Why buy a Fuji when they come out? Wait 10 months for them to price discover in the market and save $1000 (including the battery grip.). Great camera, great engineering, great design, really shitty marketing that hurts the owners with resale and just making one feel slightly screwed.
Thomas Geist I feel for ya, but you were riding the crest of a new wave for a short time and there’s value in that. I saw the XH1 at it’s launch party in Vancouver and it was’t the cards for me then... but buying it now looks good. The competition is so steep for all the brands it’s likely that “newer and better” is well on the way. I’d say just having the chance to use the XH1 for as long as you have before the price drop you have kind of had time to recoup your premium purchase price by simply getting familiar with it and perhaps achieving an intuitive sense of operation, something only hands-on operation can do. The greatest camera that will ever be made will be junk if it’s not used by someone who is determined to make it work for them.
I feel the same about the Fuji X-T20! I bought it exactly 12 months ago for $899 (body only). If I try to sell it today I'll be lucky to get $400 for it...
Daniel we’re not talking about a Christmas sale but a 1/3 dump of the price in 10 months. That’s irresponsible to the owners and not a good look for the brand. Anyone now that doesn’t wait now for Fuji to get their market price discovery shit together is a fool. Okay it was a new offering? Still screwed customers that placed trust it would hold some kind of value. Why pass their mistake on to me? Poor move...sorry.
Why would you need to get the X-H2 as soon as it comes out? Will it make your X-H1 any less capable? Don't screw yourself by being a mindless consumer zombie. You bought a great camera that is made tough for pro use and can keep it for a long time. If you like to trade up just stay one generation behind and you can trade up for a few hundred dollars. The reason for the big drop in MSRP is the new sensor in the X-T3 makes the X-H1 look a generation behind instead of the flagship that it is. That and bad reviews by people that did not know how to use the camera probably dropped sales to nothing in November. They should have introdued them together with the same sensor and positioned the IBIS camera as the premium product.
It works better and faster overall especially for the Face tracking. It also corrected the “jittery” effect when panning. Still not X-T3 level but a good firmware update!
I own both....and the X-H1 is over all better X-H1 Made In Japan,X-T3 made in china X-H1 IBIS,X-T3 no IBIS.......X-H1with grip $900 USD unless you are a videographer or are a autofocus fanboy then X-H1 is the way to go period point blank it is a DAMN F***ING Brilliant camera for $900 with grip unheard of.
I need another body, now i'm using a x-t2 for sports and weddings. Fast focus for sports and low light for churches, still don't know what to do, go with the x-t3 or x-h1. Does auto/continuous focus of the x-h1 is worse than x-t2?... HELP.
It’s hard to beat the H1 with the current discounts. You are getting all the goodness of the T2 + IBIS and more grip (useful for your low light shooting). The T3 will indeed offer slightly faster AF but I wouldn’t sweat over it.
I really really love using fujifilm xt3 for video purposes,., heres one of the music video i shot entirely using fujifilm xt3 : th-cam.com/video/gxWcPPmk74Q/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing, I also have both and enjoyed your video, for Adobe apps make sure to remove and default sharpening! Probably why images look waxy via Adobe, especially the detail slider in the sharpening menu it exaggerates the noise.
Love the information provided on this video brother! I have been struggling with what camera to use to start my channel! Watched videos on the XT3 and heard about the larger older brother and Thai was a really fast and efficient way of telling me to stay with the XT3.
I agree with jae rose that the close up shots would be better as separate shots rather than trying to get the autofocus to work

If only they did the X-H1 in silver
I bought an XT30 for photos only, but I simply love the XH1 body style. The grip and eInk display and IBIS. I think I want a second body for stills. Don’t get me wrong the XT30 is great all around, it’s just such a tiny body it feels flimsy.
XH1 is a better fit for my hands too. Can’t wait for the HX2
X-H1 @ $800 new is a no brainer!
@@FredRanger where did you buy that camera for just over $800 please send a link
@kinghuthegreat did. I paid more than that when it came out.
@kingh, please share where you got it from?
V PR it was from eGlobalcentral.eu but they’re out of stock since a few days ago
missed out two pro's for the X H 1, there are TWO SD cards, and they are accessible from the side, NOT behind the battery compartment cover :) , so you don't have to take the grip off the camera every time the card/s fill up.( also saves wear on the door hinge).
there are 2 sd cards on the XT3 as well in the same position so its not really a pro in the sense of this comparison
You will love it, great camera! I'm starting to appreciate Capture One results more and more, even if the interface is quite a learning curve.
I have the 2 cameras for wedding photography, they are the perfect combination, enjoy
Great combo!
I’ve learned to love the smaller grip in the xt3, dunno what it is about it maybe just got used to it but I prefer it now over a larger grip, the camera feels really comfortable in portrait mode especially combined with the flip screen. It just works so well imo. Great video keep em coming 👍
It can be fixed with a L bracket. I got one and it does make the handling feel better. XT3 is my first Fuji so I'm learning.

I can't really talk about the new sensor as I've not tried it but having the old one I really can say changing over to Capture One from lighroom there was a huge difference in the quality. Never going back.

Be on the lookout for the X-H2. Should be a better grip for bigger hands!

X-T3 will be a great upgrade from the T-1! Thanks for the comment :)
@@FredRanger I bought both. Xt3 with the older primes and the xh1 with the zooms and 90mm. I prefer the handling of the XH1 but I find myself shooting the Xt3 more because the focus is so much faster on older lenses.

What is the blow out sale price ($1299..?) and where did you order from ? Thanks
@@Musatainment 1299 with grip and 2 extra batteries from adorama. The kit is effectively about $900 dollars off the release price. Fujifilm already confirmed this sale will be ending and is not the new regular price of the camera.
Chazyfizzlez oh sweet. Thanks for sharing man! I’m so torn between the xt-3 and xh1 haha. I do mainly video for youtube and some photography as well.
Love my xh1
Me too!
Bro i am in the middle of those two! Does it have eye auto focus for stills? how it performs vs xt3?
@@beelievedesignphotography4347 They both have it. It's more responsive on the A7iii, but the recent firmware update on the T3 improved it so now it follows the eyes more easily.
@@FredRanger what about the XH 1?
Completely agree with analysis! Love the X-H1 with 56mm also!
I was going to get the X-H1 for video but with the Lumix S1 coming out soon I think I'd wait.
Update: I got the X-H1 instead.
Is the X-H1 light enough to use on a good travel tripod? It looks hefty in the photographs.
It look s heavier that’s it actually is. It’s 673g so no problem to go on a travel tripod. Cheers!
@@FredRanger Thanks!
I understand that in sports shooting the new X-T3 AF works Better than the X-H1, isn't It? Thank you.
yes it does as the X-H1 AF system was a generation older than the one on the X-T3.
Good points, thanks for the feedback!

So thank you fuji for giving your users what they want 😊👍
Plus for me is also the fact they stayed with the same batteries and the new top display with the better faster exposure compensation dial👍add the better grip they have done and for me it’s the perfect camera with the best optical glass out there.
Thanks for the excellent video and comparison and please keep them coming I have just subscribed 😊
Experiencing silver for a while? How do you like it or would you go back to black if you have the choice?
I love it, gives it an even more vintage look. I liked silver on my X100F now O love it even more on the bigger body.
@@FredRanger I agree on vintage point but as an owner of x100f for streets, I feel my silver is begging more attention than if I had black or maybe it has nothing to do with silver but it is my good look!😀
Haha, paint yourself silver to do a test ;-) I agree that black (with a piece if tape on the logo) is the most discreet way to go!
I agree with you. I will never depend on ibis for a client's work, if the intention is to get a smooth shot.
I was considering XH1 for the IBIS which is helpful for street photography, but I also want to travel light and only have a sling on me so I think I'll go x-t3 and 18-55mm combo, was firm on the XH1 and 16-55mm combo....
The T3 + 18-55mm will make a great travel friendly combo. Did you also considered the 16-80mm? Cheers!
@@FredRanger I've not heard of that lens, when I was researching for the single general purpose lens, everyone raved about the 18-55, or the 16-55, a quick search show 16-80 is about 1000 aud, in comparison a second hand 18-55 is only 320 aud and 16-55 is about 1100 aud. are any of these cameras in the quality range of say the pro mirrorless full frame cameras of sony, canon and nikon....?
Because after all thats really the bottom line...
I can definitely say that the gap between APSC and FF has closed in the recent years. You will still usually get slightly more dynamic range, better low light performance, and shallower depth of field, but given the quality of crop these days, it becomes a personal decision. In the end people don’t look at photos saying “what a great full frame shot” if the image/story is good, it doesn’t matter the tool you used to capture it. Cheers!
is there any difference in weather sealing ?
The X-T3 and X-H1 share the same weather sealing.

That’s awesome! Have you experimented with the xt3 as to how slow you’re willing to go hand held?
@@robifleming I would not go below 1/60th again, depending on the lens

Which one would you suggest as an overall good camera.. for both stills and video.. please let me know.
The X-H1 has IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) and a better grip for video. It would be my preference for hybrid shooting in the Fuji system.
X-H1 Period point blank ,I own both
Hello, In india, both XH1 with grip and XT3 are selling at same cost.
Cheers!

What does it mean ( ibis ) ?
In Body Image Stabilization
I actually heard the older sensor on the xh1 performs better at low light because it has larger pixels...
I have shot both in very low light and I would say the difference is unnoticeable.
I am considering switching to the XT3 from Canon but the issues with processing RAF files in my older version of lightroom has popped up a yellow flag. I'm not interested in upgrading to an Adobe subscription. What I'm gathering is I would have to convert to DNG first?

xt30 vs xh1 which one for best the video?
I prefer the X-H1 for the grip and the IBIS. But, if you shoot mainly on a tripod, the X-T30 has better video specs. It’s a question of preference.
@@FredRanger yeah i will usualiy shoot on tripod. tnx
The X-H1 is big, bulky and heavy! I feels like a Fullframe DLSR. In my opinion only worth for photographer who need IBIS and videographer. Every other should go with the X-T3 as its the better camera overall besides IBIS.
Some people have bigger hands and use IBIS quite often. X-H2 will have everything X-T3 has + IBIS. Great that there is options out there!

Yup, that's the Zhiyun Weebill Lab 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer: amzn.to/2S4gmL1
@@FredRanger Can the Weebill Lab handle the weight of the X-HI? I'm thinking of buying it. Have you been happy with it?
It will, but it depends what lens you put on it. Ideally it would be one of the smaller lenses like the f2 lenses or the 18-55mm. I love mine! Just shot an entire pro video with an X-T3 and a Fujinon 16mm f/1.4 and it handled it o perfectly!
@@FredRanger Thanks
As much as I love ibis the big grip kind of makes the camera looks a bit ugly.
Cameras are like wines, it’s all about personal preferences ;)
nice video man.
i’d include the close ups that someone already mentioned below..as well. but i like your style, ver honest and without that youtube flair that a lot of you tubers rock bees days.
congrats.
i ant an IBIS body with 10bit recording..so i’m waiting on the X-H2.
Thanks a lot for the feedback man! I just bought the X-H1 back, couldn’t wait for the H2 ;-)
:) so sooner or later i’ll get the 2nd fuji body.
cheers from Portugal
i’m subscribing ;) btw
Would a stabilized lens work for video on an XT-3?
Yes the 18-55 stabilized lens is actually a good combination. Not as stabilize as on a H-X1 but reduces the micro jitters.
Ok thank you very much Fred... Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! It helps a lot!!
Fred Ranger thanks Fred!! 🙏🙏🙏
More noise in X-T3 ?
Shure🤷♂️...it's the BSI 😉
That's, why i usw the X-H1 in 2020 and not the 3 or 4 XT's...
Barney Germany yup, still shoot my X-H1 for photos too ;) that back side illuminated sensor does have some advantages AND drawbacks...
Great to know you visited Portugal 😁
Yes, it was such a great experience. I would go back anytime! 🤘🏻
@@FredRanger Yes, mainly for the 900y of history and the beaches 😁
X-H1 and X-T3!
XH2 is for you haha sensor is already pretty good.
Well...I came for a solution on which to buy, but wound up even more confused! UGH! HAHA!
Sorry about that ;)
have extra money to investis lens first or camera first?
Always lens first! Most important piece of gear!
Lens should be a priority.
Fuji usually does a sale like that around Christmas/New years so if you can hold off on buying it first thing then you can save a bit of money.
Does xh 1 continuous autofocus work great after the 2.0 update?
It works better and faster overall especially for the Face tracking. It also corrected the “jittery” effect when panning. Still not X-T3 level but a good firmware update!
X-H1, évidemment.
Nice video
Great content on your channel

@@FredRanger My retailer is selling the X-H1 for 1089€+ Grip Fuji + 2 baterias Fuji, that's a lot to think about comparing to a x-t3 body.
@@PauloParreira Sweet deal!
Fred Ranger End up taking the deal, happy so far.
I really really love using fujifilm xt3 for video purposes,., heres one of the music video i shot entirely using fujifilm xt3 : th-cam.com/video/gxWcPPmk74Q/w-d-xo.html
Good stuff!
Thanks man ..
debating between Xh-1 with 16-55 and XT-3 with the 18-55. The xh-1 is $200 more.
Are you planning on doing any video?
not particularly, i'd experiment with video but its not a big deal for me.
Sani Wada X-T3 with a stabilized lens would be my recommendation.
thank you, ill keep that in mind.
Use C1 for all Fujifilm RAW files
Thanks for sharing, I also have both and enjoyed your video, for Adobe apps make sure to remove and default sharpening! Probably why images look waxy via Adobe, especially the detail slider in the sharpening menu it exaggerates the noise.
Good point about the sharpening. I’ll try that!
Fred Ranger actually I remove both the sharpening and the noise reduction, for me the images/grain start looking more natural and clearer.
@@eliaspap8708 Lightroom Auto sharpens?
Omar B. Rimawi yes it does, for Fuji files best remove auto sharpening and the default auto noise reduction also.
@@eliaspap8708 thank you! This might explain some of the weirder issues I've been having with it
Love the information provided on this video brother! I have been struggling with what camera to use to start my channel! Watched videos on the XT3 and heard about the larger older brother and Thai was a really fast and efficient way of telling me to stay with the XT3. I want to make sure the new A7Siii doesn’t have a flippy ( bigger chance for snowflakes in hell ha!) but think I’m gonna go with the XT3! Thanks for the perspective!
Refreshingly CozChristopher if you don’t need IBIS the T3 will rock!
I think I will go with the X-T3. Atlanta does not have a really good camera store, tried going out this past weekend to purchase. The two stores, KEH and PPR Rentals didn’t have it so I guess I’ll have to buy online 😒
спасибо!
Ура!
Love your videos subscribe 👍👍
Thank you so much! Happy shoting!
how about x-h2😜
Hehe I’m patiently waiting for it 😇
ugh !! i'm waiting until they take the video features of the x-t3 and combine that with IBIS in the new x-h2 :) now that will be a monster of a camera
Waiting for that too!
@@FredRanger for now i'll keep my x-t20 and the insane 16mm 1.4 I have mounted to it. That lens will be with me till the day i die. Bodies come and go every 6 months.
Really love that lens too. It’s way up there on my top list with the 56mm f/1.2. Happy shooting!
X-H2 2020? Wait
Will be a killer cam!
swivel*
hehe, yup, that's the word I was looking for!
Good points answered noise ?
"answered noise?" not sure I understand the question.
x-H1 is changing will be X-H2 ………..
Yes. But for now, H-X1 is the one!
If you really really love your XT3 then chop your pinky finger off 😂
😂 I’ll consider it!
