A lot of bands that should be relinquished to playing in basements have played various mountain festivals. It’s not an achievement but merely a booking detail generally based on one person with horrible taste in music.
I've watched this so many times, all the people have become like characters in a movie. Everyone is doing his thing. Guy with the hat and his mate, the cable stomping, the chicks, dudes in the background, etc.
Sadly the front row guy with his hat passed away at the end of 2023... He was a very dear close friend I met at Palp Festival during my first edition in 2019 and been hanging around with him every editions after. It makes me love even more this video, seeing him having the blast of his life in front of one of his favorite band in such a unique setting. You'll be missed Damien 😢❤️
Ok, for all of you that are here because they're opening for Tool... please go listen to Elder's albums. If you like this song, you will love their music. It is so intricate, melodic, and complete. Their songs tell stories and every song is different. And, the guys are all super cool. I've chatted with Nick quite a few times and he's just a down to earth dude. I have seen them a few times over the years but I'm looking forward to the end of February as they're ending their tour with Tool in Las Vegas, which is the closest place to me to see them. And honestly, I am going mostly to see them. Seeing Tool is just a perk.
Saw them in Baltimore last night. My new favorite band!......The combo of bands last night was perfect. Congrats to all of you about to see this tour. It's awesome!
When the algorithm is obsessed with influencing your mind because it's a ghost in the machine. Too afraid to come out. That would be too real. And it only knows that which is unreal.
Damn, this is gonna be one of the best openers for Tool in a long, long time!! I’d never heard of this band until the announcement that they’re opening for tool. And I’m glad I checked this out!!
How have I never heard of Elder? What an amazing band! If Colour Haze and Yes had a lovechild, I think it would sound like Elder. It's so complex and so musical. And the singer/guitarist must have two brains to play those intricate single note lines while singing. And it's a wonderfully shot video. The scenery, the music, the happy crowd all give my sense of wonder a workout.
Haha indeed! Thanks edited ;) And yes man, one of my favorite Elder concert ever, this place is spectacular, and being so close to the guys isn't something that happens much often with Elder !
So cool. That looked like so much fun. Wish I was there. I wasn't aware of ELDER until my good friend Garth put me wise recently. He was right, as usual. Such a great song. Jesus, I'd love to see these guys play in a landscape like that with a belly full of mushrooms.
When listen the intro whith that space reverb... I think, here got something really interesting 🤯🔥🎸🎼🎶🔊. That was the past year. Damn algorithm, why not recomendme this band before?! 🫨🙃 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Sean of the great King Buffalo has reduced the pedalwork. Delay and Doubling guitars is fine to a certain point if you are the only guitarist . But these guys could manage with less. And I think Nick knows it
They kind of sound like an edgier version of Yes, and more rock and livelier. This song takes the listener on a journey. Very progressive, very cool. Cheers!
The guitarist's vibes on the right, reminds me of Steve Wilson. Love they're using vintage Hi-Watt amps. Those are great sounding amps. Have the Dr-103. Cool band, capture.
Thanks for putting this up! I just saw Elder in Cambridge, Massachusetts a few days ago. Of course, since it's their original home turf and they don't play here as often as they used to (due to most of the band now being based in Germany), it was packed. I was closer to Michael Risberg's side of the stage and pretty far back at first, so I couldn't see much of what Nick was doing, and I was curious about what he was playing on this song in particular. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to see it close up!
Man, what a sweet venue! Somebody knows what they are doing with the soundboard and Mic's. Great sound quality and look at the preparation that went into the Mic Placements. Both guitars have a direct face and an offset mic run through the board. All of the instruments are clear and audible. A top notch job somebody did. Bravo
Shame they didnt film from the other side, this is up above tree level on 2000m but theres still a wall of mountains towering above. Epic location. And the sound quality is really really good. Also dont forget the raclette cheese and fendant white wine. Gotta go again next year.
I saw them in a club show earlier this year. I've seen a couple of other videos of bands playing here, or maybe a venue just like it. It almost looks like they just went up to a mountain top with pack animals toting their equipment, plopped it down, set it up, invited a whole bunch of friends and had a party. What a beautiful place to play. I'd love to see them at our local amphitheater, also in a lovely mountain location, and I told them that when I saw them, but I doubt it would come close to beating this scene. Love these guys.
Where is this festival? I have heard of Elder before but this song and the setting really grabbed my attention. Will be checking out more Elder for sure.
Saw Elder play in my buddy's basement in like 2009. Who knew 14 years later they'd be playing a mountain
you could say - they have a range
lucky guy
Did they cover Ozzy's Over The he Mountain, or Led Zeppelin Misty Mountain Hop?
@@chrismizuno239 or Devin Townsend's Sit in the Mountain

Dang... this is so sick. All stoner rock shows should take place in nature.
So pissed I wasn't born yet when kyuss was playing in the desert
seriously. F that Las Vegas sphere
@@nuckels188I hear ya. I was alive then but had no means to go there back then. Wish I could've seen them live though
@SupersonicDW420 yes! Where is this magical place where stoner rock bands play on the ground in the mountains! 😁😁
@@LennieDean Switzerland I think.

@@MorefuzzNet Oh, im sorry for your loss. He seems to be a great dude.
Driving 3 hrs to Orlando to see them, sleeping in my car and then driving back, wish me luck🙌🏽
Hope you survived. I was at that show so I know it was worth it lol
2 things:
1. First time seeing this band.. WOW!
2. What a festival location! SICK!

I’m so thrilled they are opening for Tool! Otherwise I may never have heard of them. I really dig this!
Nailed it, here because of Tool, diggin what im hearing. Seeing em tomorrow night dead center 2nd row in a Phillies hoodie.
Yes!!! I love how tool finally has a killer opener ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ya!! So bad ass
Saw them in Baltimore last night. My new favorite band!......The combo of bands last night was perfect. Congrats to all of you about to see this tour. It's awesome!
Yep here because they are opening for too! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful stuff, lads.

If you're an Elder fan and you get a chance to see them live, go for it. Their live shows are great. Really solid performers.
Orlando next Sunday! So psyched!
100 cent
Saw them in ATL last weekend, they killed it!
Bristol in a few weeks! \o/
Never heard them until now. Now I’m a fan. That was an amazing performance
Once in a while you click on a random video and ten minutes later you're hooked. I must have more...
Totally random. Nothing artificial about the timing or the reason. It must truly be divien.
Damn, this is gonna be one of the best openers for Tool in a long, long time!! I’d never heard of this band until the announcement that they’re opening for tool. And I’m glad I checked this out!!
Elder are opening for Tool?? Please god let that tour come to the UK
Yeah seeing them in late January. Super pumped for elder
Same, I'm going to see the tool show in January and actually am more excited to see elder now than tool.
Just found Elder for the same reason and, I think at this stage I would rather see Elder (Saying that as a huge Tool fan since Opiate)
Tool should be opening for them.
Elder is one of the best band in the world currently.
I mean I just discovered this song today, but it’s already totally self evident that it needed to be played live on top of a mountain.
excellent..j'adore...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Epic, ...those lucky people.

It's "Merged in dreams" dude, not "Catastasis". Thanks for sharing, what a blast it must have been to experience this in this amazing landscape......

I must get some mushrooms. 🍄
I knew they were good from the opening notes. Never heard them before. Great group.
Saw Elder when they were first coming up. Great musicians.
The best fucking concert I've ever been too, probably tied with king gizz a week later ♥️ (you can see my hair in the forefront when I headbang lol)
What have I just found! Amazing!
My favorite band hands down every album is perfect
Really freakin good live playing. Don’t know this band, but that guitarist transfixed me.
When listen the intro whith that space reverb... I think, here got something really interesting 🤯🔥🎸🎼🎶🔊. That was the past year. Damn algorithm, why not recomendme this band before?! 🫨🙃 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
As a guitarist in this genre, I hate to admit that it really does require that many pedals. These guys are huge influences on me.
It's a talent in itself to utilize those pedals. I used to work for pro tone guitar pedals and a big fan of boutique pedals
Its honest pretty sparse compared to alot of other acts. But definently used the best way possibly !
Sean of the great King Buffalo has reduced the pedalwork. Delay and Doubling guitars is fine to a certain point if you are the only guitarist . But these guys could manage with less. And I think Nick knows it
Why do you hate to admit it though. Pedals are fun.
Amazing performance and location! Looking forward to seeing them for the first time in Glasgow this year.
I just found this by accident..
very cool!!
Imagine seeing a band as stellar as Elder… ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN!What an experience this must’ve been
What a goddamn band
One of the best bands in the world.
They kind of sound like an edgier version of Yes, and more rock and livelier. This song takes the listener on a journey. Very progressive, very cool. Cheers!
Just seen ELDER in Baltimore USA last night, great, great show!!!
Innate Passage is a fantastic album, also bought that at the show...
What a video... Elder are incredible, and in such a beautiful environment...
The guitarist's vibes on the right, reminds me of Steve Wilson. Love they're using vintage Hi-Watt amps. Those are great sounding amps. Have the Dr-103. Cool band, capture.
I'm amazed how well they play live. It's not a simple composition.
Dope!!!! 🔥

Love how you got Nick's pedalboard in the frame too. Many thanks.
Background view fits to Elder’s music just fine, mint location.
Wish i was there🍻
now thats a venue i could play every night!..heard of the name but never really listened to them till now..great stuff.
Je viens de découvrir ce groupe il y a 10 minutes et depuis je regarde toutes ses vidéos , je crois qu'on appelle ça un " coup de foudre "
Totally badass 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
the bests
I love this song
Bravo!! Thank you!!
This was a vibe....and I really enjoyed the dancing miss in the white t shirt 😍🥰
btw this deserves a million views!

First time hearing love it! Reminds me just a bit of yes
My brother and I just watched them open up their tour in Philly.
Thank you Elder to give us some inspiration for our project with POULPE (Dilavarus)
SUBLIME!! A beautiful flight of no return
This is good medicine
What a beautiful setting.
how can I not have heard of these guys? This stuff is great.
Excellent! I Love the song! Well Done! Wish I could have been there! ❤️❤️❤️
Come to Australia 🇦🇺
Talented guitarist 🎸
What an guitar tone and the bass mix is as good I’ve ever heard. Hats off to the sound man!
If I’m Elder, I make sure I keep this guy
That guitar tone!!
First contact, lovely! Kudos to the lead singer/ guitarist, every sound a banger, first class playing, remarkable.
Hells yes! Really good stuff! I’m beautifully reminded of like Steve Howe and the band YES with some of the jams! ✊🏽🏆
Fantastic band! Fantastic location!
Brilliant!! like a King Crimson!!! Amazing music!! Congratulations!
Jammers...I would go see em just for the location. They are quite good.
Whaaaaaoooouuuu !!!! Great music guys !!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Good one, great venue.
Fantastic number! Loved it.
It's a great time seeing these guys live, they rock
This is an absolute bliss!
Very Tight Band....Good Stuff
Damn you guys need me to sing. LOL I had a great melody and lyrics going fit great. For real though solid solid band. First time hearing. Tight!!
thats the most beautiful shit i've listened for a while.
love it.
Awesome setting, awesome band.
These guys are great. Seems like the perfect venue for their music, too.
🤘🤘🤘Thanks for sharing! Nick's guitar play is amazing and inspiring!! Love from Taiwan!!
One of those high guitar licks sounds like U2’s New Year’s Day. I’m still here for this. These guys sound great.
Sick bassist ❤
Wow. What a place to play a gig!
Nick is in the conversation for best modern day guitarist.
This is what happens when great musicians play together
Saw ya'll last weekend opening up for TOOL in Biloxi and it was fucking awesome! 🤘
Just saw them live in OKC I was backstage cool guys :)
The drummer is so nice
There’s something really special about these guys👌🏻
Love the Stage

probably the best elder song ever. thanks so much for this.
My soul is feeding on this
When the animals come and sit around with the folks and join the concert then true unity has begun
Solid!!! Subbed!!Cheers!;-)!!
Very Cool!! 😤💨💨💥💫🪐✨️
😎👍

I cant belive what i see and hear. Damn those lucky crowd there ! Top !! Where is the rest setlist? :D
Nice. Feel of floyd and It Bites
Where is this festival? I have heard of Elder before but this song and the setting really grabbed my attention. Will be checking out more Elder for sure.
That was great. Pedal boards on the ground. Scorching...
