    Hello,
I loved your deconstruction of meat and greet :) I actually haven't seen the silence of the lambs before but now after you talked about it it makes me want to watch it now. I know you talked about asking for suggestions for videos to be watched and deconstructed so I have a suggestion as well as something you might enjoy if you haven't heard this comment from someone else yet. But you should check out there entire new album called "Welcome to Horrorwood" its my favorite album of theirs and it tells a whole story and it's amazing its got 30 videos and it's so cool I highly recommend it :) also if your able to take suggestions I'd love for you to deconstruction the main song welcome to horrorwood (official music video) :) also I am very inspired by listening to you talk about publishing your book. I am a creative writer myself and hope to one day publish a book as well. :)

Hiya Haley, thanks for stopping by!! I love Ice Nine Kills and the way they take inspiration from classic horror films (obviously, as a horror filmmaker myself!) so I love your suggestion of deconstructing more of theirs! I will add a few more of their videos to my list of videos to cover in the future. If I do I'll tag you! I don't know if you've ever seen them live, but their shows are really fun!! And definitely check out The Silence of the Lambs, you'll recognize lots of parts from the video! It's a great, great movie. Once you've seen that, there's Hannibal (the movie, though the TV show is great too!) and Red Dragon as sequels to the film. Truly excellent horror.
Keep working on your writing! It's such a rewarding thing to do, as a hobby or professionally!!

Also I would love to see your reaction of
    Ren - Hi Ren,
Ren - the tale of Jenny & screech full version
    Ren - sick boi
Ren - money game part 1,2 and 3. Only part 2 should be the lyric video.

I think the framing of police as paramilitary enforcers reflects the militarization of law enforcement. People outside of the middle class bubble, which includes many creatives, is that of police as an armed reaction force designed to keep the peace through force of arms than any concept of justice. Thus the their common image of the police little more than men bearing guns in threatening ways.

You're absolutely right - their function in many stories (not just music videos) is reduced to just that, it's a wild oversimplification. It's why I vowed never to write guns into my stories. The portrayal of them in entertainment has normalized them, glorified them, and really made people far too comfortable with them. It's an often (lazily) neglected responsibility we have as filmmakers. I still don't think many filmmakers realize the effect we have with our stories on culture and how people perceive crime and (in)justice.
