My doctor administered the first (0,25) dose in the office this week. They gave me a 6 week sample pack. Just wanted to ask a quick question I accidentally bought the 1MG version of the pen and my starting dose were supposed to be around 0.25, 0.5 MG so what I did was since I already use the needle and open the pen and I couldn’t return it, but I did was I simply counted the clicks and calculated it roughly based on that and I injected myself so I’m just curious did it work or not?
Spot weight reduction 😂. If it worked like that, I’d be injecting it into my back fat. I’m down 15 lbs in a little over two months, and the weight is coming off everywhere. I’m so grateful for this community and Ozempic. Cannot wait to switch to Mounjaro.
@@monacervantes6965 Wegovy was finally available in Canada so I switched to that. Since September 2023 I’ve lost 44lbs. It would have been more but ozepmic was sold out and Wegovy wasn’t available, and by the time it was, I had to start from scratch, setting me back a few months. I wanted to try Mounjaro because it’s reported to be more effective. That was the only reason.
@@cindypaquette1815 only because it was reported to be more effective, but Wegovy has been very effective and I haven’t even been trying that hard. Worth every penny.
I am using it for diabetes but need it for weight loss also. My sugar was 296 the day before I started it. Took my dose and the very next day my sugar was 160. I still need to work on it obviously but it has had a very positive impact on my sugar levels and my A12 is down as well.
Been using ozempic since March. I lost 16 pounds in the first month (.25mg). I haven’t lost a pound since then even though I’m up to 2 mg. Gained 5 pounds in the last month.
The blue label pen doesn’t show a number to designate dosage. How do I know at which point to inject? Am I missing something? Is the pen flawed? I’m hesitant to use the pen if I can’t be sure I’m at the correct dose and can see the correct dose.
I've been on Ozempic for type II diabetes a few years and have never had side effects. For the first year or so, I thought I should only inject into the belly and switched sides every week. I didn't lose on 1mg per week unless I dieted and exercised. I saw something that showed I could also inject into my inner thigh or my upper inner arm, so I decided to try this. While it hurt a great deal more than my stomach injections, it seemed more effective. I had bruising. I'm so glad I ran across this video that shows me I can inject in my less sensitive outer thigh and the back of my arms! OUCH! With a low carb (50grams carbs per day), higher fat and moderate protein diet and about 30 minutes of low intensity exercise, like walking, a day, along with intermittent fasting (first meal at 10am, last meal at 4pm and about 1,500 calories per day) I am easily losing weight now. I am also taking 10mg Jardiance per day because Ozempic wasn't completely controlling blood sugar. This really amped up weight loss even though that's not why I'm taking it. I believe it's because my blood sugar goes under 100 and stays there on a regular basis. I feel better than I have in years. Recently, while on a cruise, I ditched my low carb diet for two weeks and after about a week, I felt horrible! No energy, acid stomach, depression. Now that I'm back at home and back on my routine, I feel great again. Thank you for showing me where to inject my Ozempic so it's less painful!
I don't even feel a pinch. The needle is so tiny and thin, there is no pain. Just make sure you allow the alcohol to dry on your skin before injecting.
I googled how to get .25 of the dosage, and it said 19 clicks. To get .5, I know it's more clicks, but you will have to Google it. You definitely did not give yourself enough of the dosage.
I just took my first dose. It took what seemed like FOREVER to get to my dosage. There were tons of these little lines and I thought I might be doing it wrong. But basically, it took a ton of clicks to get to the lowest dosage window. You should see actual numbers when you take your injection. Mine was the lowest at .25. It's the first number you get to and I've heard that's what they start everyone out at to make sure the side effects aren't too bad.
I get a hive reaction after infection after 24 hours. I am using proper protocol , and adding Zantac and hydrocortisone now. These seem to help, putting that out there for other viewers.
Zantac? I thought that was pulled from shelves due to dangers side effects/ cancer causing. Have you checked with your Dr or Pharmacist? Please do so asap! 🙏🏼
@@jar-sb7sf Thanks for feedback. That's odd, Zyrtec is for allergy's symptoms and Zantac is for stomach/ digestive issues. Either way I hope their problem subsided and the medication is working well now.
Dr. Dan my doctor just switched me from bydureon to ozempic. I've been on bydureon for a year or two and my stomach injection sites feel like little rocks is this normal?
My understanding is that you don’t inject to the inner thigh because there are some pretty sizable arteries and blood vessels there that would be unwise to hit or nick(?). 🩸🩸🩸 Though these needles are pretty short. But, why risk it? 🤔 Dr Dan, what’s your take on this?
The inner thigh is prone to chafing and irritation, and increased risk of skin infection too. Moister skin harbors more infection risks. I wouldn't suggest it. That's why people get athlete's foot, jock itch, and such, some areas of skin are more risky for infection.

We always need to take into account the individual factors which needs to be done by you clinician to confirm that it is OK for you to take in combination with your medications.

If I start the pen and prime it the first time shall the I throw, the needle away and the nwxt week use the same pen with a new needle and click to the 0.5 foe the second week?
(I’m not your doctor, but this is my opinion) You should prime the pen before you use it for the first time, so prime it then administer the dose with the same needle the same day. The needle dial tells the dose that you are about to administer so only click the dial up to the dose your doctor prescribed you. Ie: if they prescribed you 0.5 mg, then click the dial to that every time, but if they prescribed 0.25, then only click the dial to that number every time you inject.
I wish Wegovy came in an adjustable pen. Millions of people throwing a weekly injectable pen away, will be murder for the environment. At least a monthly one is less wasteful. Also, you can ramp up more gradually, and not worry about dose shortages.
Side effects are very minor and transient for 90+% of those with the disease of obesity vs not using these meds. In fact, not using these meds leads to horrible health outcomes.
Losing weight and reducing the risk of serious heart attacks, strokes, or even death in people with Type 2 Diabetes, who are already at a higher risk of these health problems.
Can we divide our Ozempic dosage in increments and inject in left thigh, right thigh, left stomach, right stomach, left arm, right arm until we reach our full dosage? Is there any harm in doing this?
