    Just picked one of these up last week. For $40 I've been loving it and the camera and phone connection has been surprisingly decent.

      I’ve been impressed with it too except for how the phone holder clip. My iPhone 6 is not held securely enough. I think I’ll add a rubber band to secure it.

      Ian Kinney how long does the battery last?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paulstarrish6154 It's about 10 minutes fly time per charge, but note that the instruction say to allow the battery to cool between charges. The controller doesn't require a recharge for each flight, but I don't have an idea yet on how often the controller needs recharged. I've recharged it only one time since the original charging. At that time it didn't need it, I just did it after I had flown the drone, realizing that I had never recharged the control unit. Hope that is clear?
      Thanks for watching!

      @scott-si1oe I’m very glad to hear that you are successful in operating your drone. Recently some have reported not being able to use their phone to operate it.
      I agree, for around $40 it’s a great starter drone. And one of my most watched video series!
      I agree regarding the company linking, but I’ll just keep going as is.

    Love it, my wife bought me a large drone a 18 months ago, only a cheap one more a toy but I can’t take it out in wind which isn’t great in the U.K. I’m a Street Photographer also some landscape but the camera on mine doesn’t move unless by hand and it doesn’t connect to a phone so basically a toy but I’ll still give it a go just to get some practice flying.

    • @BoilerDan1

      I’ve yet to successfully fly it outdoors. Trying to use the phone was too difficult for my brain to handle 😂. I’m going to try activating the camera then fly from the remote control and not look at the video until I safely land again. Because it’s small, if I looked at the screen, I couldn’t look back at the drone and find it in the sky.... I’ll keep trying 👍. Thanks for watching.

    Question:is tha camera mod able (by putting in new camera) and what's the general range you can get with the controller
    Edit:also there aren't many vids on this so thank you for making a few tutorials

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Tomorrow I hope to actually film the camera being used. You do have to pare it to a smart phone to see and record the image, the drone camera does not save the video nor photos within itself. That is done by downloading the app for the drone. (I'll show all of that in the video being made.) I was surprised with the quality of the video that was produced. As far as range with the controller, it should be about the length of a football field. As small as it is, from that far, you probably couldn't see it with your eyes! And figuring out where the drone is via the screen on you of your phone will take some practice. I'll be producing a video to show how to have the drone return to you by pushing a button... Just in case you do lose track of it by sight. Also, FCC regulations is the USA don't require any special licensing with a drone that is controlled within the sight of the operator. So this one is okay on that end with the approximate 100 yard range. (300 Feet or a little over 94 meters).
      So keep an eye out over the next week and I will post the video showing how to get the app needed, and the quality and operation of the onboard camera.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had made an error in the first video and you are correct, calibration is on the left. I tried to clarify that on the second video. I’ve figured out more too! It’ll automatically safely land if you fly beyond range... You just gotta find it 😂. The camera can be flipped to film upward and 3D video (not sure why on either of those). It’ll also do a barrel roll....So if I ever can master outdoor flight I will do another video covering those topics 😳 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll cover several issues here:
      1. The blades must be in a certain order as follows:
      My drone has the following set up with the blades:
      As sitting in the driver’s seat of a car with the drone’s camera as the front of the car. They are in the following order:
      White Blade marked 1 A is front left
      White Blade marked 2 B is front right
      Black Blade marked 1 B is rear left
      Black Blade marked 1 A is rear right
      I have no idea why only one of the blades is 2 B?
      2. Properly pair the drone to the controller.
      A. Turn on the drone and set it on a flat surface.
      B. Turn on the remote control.
      C. On the remote left side pad the far left center tab/button, Press and hold it down for several seconds (probably about 5 seconds) The button has two symbols on it, One looks like two circles intertwined the other symbol is a circle that resembles a speedometer. Once that is done, turn off both the drone and the remote. Wait about 10 seconds, then proceed:
      1. Turn on the drone and set on a flat surface.
      2. Turn on the remote, you will hear two beeps. The drone and the remote are now calibrated and it is ready to fly.
      3. Above the left pad, tap one time the Start button with the up arrow one time. The drone propellers should turn but it will stay on the ground.
      4. Slide the left pad upward to lift off the ground. The more you slide the left pad upward, the higher the drone will go.
      If it drifts to one side, the arrows on the right side of the controller will adjust that, but just push them one time, then let go. If more correction is need push it again. Work back and forth until it is stable.
      ** Do the same thing with the up and down arrows on the left side of the controller for forward or backward and continue tweaking it until it maintains its place.
      The round pads in the center control movement, and they slide all directions. The left pad controls up and down and will spin the drone around. The right pad controls forward, back, left and right.
      Watch all of my videos for more details
      I hope that helps!
      Thanks for watching.

    I have one of these Simrex x300C drones but can't control it with the controller. I can't calibrate the drone with the controller. It won't center itself while hovering and flies off to the left. It doesn't respond well to the controls either. It worked a little bit better using the phone app.

    Do you think if the little antenna wire was replaced with something longer, you'd get more range?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doubtful, but it’ll land safely once out of range. I’ve had it get away from me twice. I’ve determined that flight from the smartphone phone is not for me! I think I could hit record from my phone and then fly it from the remote control unit. That way I can keep a better eye on the drone itself. It’s little and when I looked down at my phone then back up... I couldn’t find the drone. The wind then took over until it was out of range. That distance was about 75 yards...... I’m planning on another video with successful outdoor flight 😂👍 Thanks for watching

    It won't fly! 😭 I've tried arranging the propellers, full battery, calibrating. It just leans backwards. How do I fix?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will try to help:
      You turn on the drone first it will have a blue light at the on/off button and red lights flashing at the back of the drone. Then turn on the control unit, you will hear two beeps and the flashing red lights on the back of the drone will stay on solid… No flashing.
      Other things to make sure are correct:
      1. Make sure that the arms that the propellers go on are fully extended. They will click into place.
      2. The propellers must go on in a certain way. Notice on mine The white are on the front (camera side), black are on the back (battery compartment side). Also make sure that the propellers have the longer tube-like part all on the bottom. If you have one or more upside down, it will throw everything off.... Once all that is done, go to step 3.
      3. Turn on the drone and place it on a level surface (ie.. floor). There should be a red light at the rear by the battery compartment flashing and a solid blue light at the on/off switch.
      4. Turn on the controller, it will beep as it links with the drone. Then when that is complete, the red light at the back of the drone will stop flashing and will stay on solid red. The blue light at the drone's on/off switch will also remain on solid blue. The remote will also show a little blue light and red light on it.
      5. Controller calibration: Hold down the Gyro key, it’s on the left side center with what looks like an atomic symbol and also a round symbol that resembles a speedometer.
      6. Push the "Start" button one time and let it go, The start button is on the left side at the top and is marked "Start" with a small arrow pointing up.
      * The drone should sit on the ground with the propellers spinning.
      Push the "Start" button again, one short push and the drone should hover about 1 foot off the floor.
      If after that it's not working, I'd return it for another unit. Shouldn't be a problem through Amazon if that is where you purchased yours.

      Unfortunately I’m on vacation but when I get home I will post some things for you to try. I’ve kept some instructions on my home computer. I’m planning on another video, but not sure when I can get it done. I will mention one thing. The propeller blades have a specific order on the drone. Did the drone come with the blades on or off? You might be able to see the correct order on my earlier video. Again, I’ll post more things early next week once I’m home.
      Thanks for watching 👍

      SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN RESPONDING:
      I will try to help: (Some may not be relevant to you until step 5)
      Have you charged both the drone batter and the CONTOLLER?
      5. Controller calibration:
      To properly pair the drone to the controller. 1. Turn on the drone and set it on a flat surface. 2. Turn on the remote control. 3. On the remote left side pad the far left center tab/button, Press and hold it down for several seconds (probably 5 to 10 seconds) The button has two symbols on it, One looks like two circles intertwined the other symbol is a circle that resembles a speedometer. Once that is done, turn off both the drone and the remote. Wait about 10 seconds, then: 1. Watch all of my videos for more details
      Let me know if you get it going! 😃👍

    I need help for my drone. 2 propellers have been lost, one white and one black, and I don't know how the pattern of A and B is going. Could you help me please? It is my first drone.

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Happy to help.
      Both white propellers go on the front (camera side) of the drone. Also if you look very closely at the propellers, one is marked A 1, the other B 2. On mine, A 1 is to the left of the drone (imagine it is a car and your sitting in the drivers seat, it would be that side of the drone) Then obviously, B 2 would be on the right or passenger side.
      Then on the rear (Battery compartment) side, Black propellers are with A 1 on the right side and B 1 is on the left side. I don't know if the A and B markings matter one way or another, but I do know that White must be on the front and black on the back.
      Also, I don't know why all of them are marked #1 except for B 2? Anyway, I hope that helps.
      Thanks for watching.

      6. Push the "Start" button one time and let it go, the start button is on the left side at the top and is marked "Start" with a small arrow pointing up.
      * The drone should sit on the ground with the propellers spinning.
      Slide the left pad upward one short push and the drone should hover about 1 foot off the floor.

      I'll try to help. 1st (I'm assuming you didn't have any major crashes?) Let's try recalibrating the drone by resetting it. You do that by:
Once that is done, it is ready to fly. 3. Above the left pad, tap one time the Start button with the up arrow one time. The drone propellers should turn but it will stay on the ground. 4. Slide the left round pad upward to lift off the ground. The more you slide the left pad upward, the higher the drone will go. Let me know if resetting the Gyro Calibration fixes the problem.

    Hi, how high does it fly and once it goes out of range does it plummet to the ground like a stone. And what distance does it fly away from you before it plummets down to Earth please (if it indeed does plummet to Earth) thanks😁

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can fly it high probably until it loses the signal! I’ve not actually tried that though. You also run the risk of losing sight of it and the wind blowing it out of range. The manual says that the range is about the length of a football field (100 yards) however my experience is that it’s less than that. About 60 yards (about 180 feet). If or when you loose the signal it doesn’t drop like a rock, it will automatically go into safe landing mode and land gently. It does the same thing when the battery runs out. Thanks for watching 👍

      I’m going to guess that you put the propellers back on in the wrong order. See step 2 below 1.
      * The drone should hover about 1 foot off the floor.
      If it drifts to one side, The arrows on the right side of the controller will adjust that, but just push them one time, then let go. If more correction is need push it again. Work back and forth until it is stable.

    My drone takes off when I try to hover. Can someone help?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Next: To properly pair the drone to the controller.
Wait about 10 seconds, then:
      1. Turn on the drone and set on a flat surface.
      2. Turn on the remote, you will hear two beeps. The drone and the remote are now calibrated and it is ready to fly.
      3. On the left pad tap one time the Start button with the up arrow. The drone should lift up about 1 foot off the ground. More taps of the up button and it will go higher.
      Watch all of my videos for more details. I will also be making a follow-up video showing the above steps.
      Thanks for watching.

    Just got mine, how do i change the speed from the controller ?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been trying to do an update.... I lost my paper instruction booklet, but it turned up two days ago, so I will update soon. Regarding how to change the speed: On the left side the center left button is the one that adjust 3 different speed levels of the blades. If you look at it close, it has 2 symbols on it. The lower one looks similar to a speedometer, That's the one. Once the blades are turning, you short tap that button. With each tap you will circle through the 3 speeds.
      Also, I made an error in my first video: Calibration is done also with the left side center left button, but instead of taping it, you hold it down for a few seconds.
      Hope that helps! I'll try to update in the next few days as I've learned more about it.
      Thanks for watching.

      I’ll check it out sometime in the future. This mini is my first, I just needed to put something on my Christmas list last year. It’s been fun but challenging due to a poor installation manual. That’s what prompted the video as well. I’d like to use a drone for filming future videos. Maybe your suggestion will be the one 👍 Thanks for watching!

      You do have to complete specific steps to pair the drone to the controller prior to using the first time…. Not saying you didn’t, just checking 👍

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll try to help. 1st (I'm assuming you didn't have any major crashes?) Let's try recalibrating the drone by resetting it. You do that by:

    Hello good afternoon.
    I just watched the video.
    Very interesting and a good initial lesson for beginners, which is my case.
    I am waiting to receive my first drone.
    But ... this is quite interesting.
    A question, which for me is very important:
    The quality of images from the camera of this drone.
    It's good?
    this is not noticeable in the video.

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m in the process of making a follow up video showing the camera quality question. It’s fine with the exception of a little jumpy when you have to keep adjusting your flight path. Outdoor flight is an issue if you have limited space and even a slight wind. It’s a bit tricky to maintain but I’m working on it! I’m unable to use the smartphone and visually keep track of the drone.... so I turn on the camera from phone and then fly with the remote control that came with the drone. Thanks for watching 👍

    Whenever we try to fly it ir doesnt work please help

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m going to guess that you put the propellers on in the wrong order. See step 2 below 1.
      * The drone should hover about 1 foot off the floor.
      If it drifts to one side, The arrows on the right side of the controller will adjust that, but just push them one time, then let go. If more correction is need push it again. Work back and forth until it is stable.
      ** Do the same thing with the up and down arrows on the left side of the controller for forward or backward and continue tweaking it until it maintains its place.

      I've struggled with that too. I ended up opening the Symrex app. Then click on the file folder at the top of the screen. Next click the computer looking tower then the click movie board and you will see your video's. click the one you want and the Play Video screen will appear. In the upper right corner you will see a box and an arrow curving to the right. Click that box. You will then get choices to text or email and if you drag that area to the right, you will see more options. I've been texting them to my own phone, then saving it to my photo/video files.
      I'm using an iPhone 6, and android might work better with the drone?
