Not saying this is not true. However, in Portgugal the number of Americans moving there is causeing local rents to go up and this and the crowds are making local residence very angry. To the point that in some cases Americans who go there or move there are getting yelled at. Especially, in the beach areas. If you go to the beach there it is not uncommon for people to yell. "Americans get out of here!" Having said that Paraguy and Uraguay are both fantastic!
You lost all credibility with me when you mentioned Canada and that is all you did. You did not go into any details ...really because you can't. There is no easy residency for foreigners ...not now, not ever.
It is true, it's not like you can just walk into Canada and get residency, like some places who want rich (to them) people to bring cash in. Canada wants younger people who can work to contribute, not older folks who would take from the public purse--like looking for medical. So there are certainly hoops. But Canada has had one of the most aggressive immigration policies in the world. According to the 2021 Census, 23.0% of Canada's population, or 8,361,505 people, were foreign-born (immigrants). In my city, 48% of the city is foreign born (including me). My whole neighborhood is filled with immigrants. Our nearest neighbors are Korean next to me, Chinese mainland, Sri Lanka, Taiwan. New Zealand and Australia, too, are not easy to just walk in and live there. Developed countries want those who will invest into the countries. But you can if you are qualified to work.
