Love this video. I really like your videos because they are very interesting and they make me want to learn psychology.
I was hoping you could make a video discussing the different types of anxieties and how to recognise them.
Anyway, love your video, ava, keep going!

Amazing thanks! Il definitely look into that :) I’ve done ptsd and ocd and anxiety relating to it’s correlation with paranoia but I could do more of different types eg phobias and GAD

I abandoned my family while manic with undiagnosed type 1 bipolar disorder. I am under care now and stable, but I can't forgive myself and it has ruined my life. The events play out in my head over and over.

So sorry to hear that your experience affected you in this way, I hope that you receive the support you deserve to reduce the torment these past events bring you

Would emdr help to stop these painful memories? Everything you are saying makes sense, but just talking about it and trying to update the memories doesnt seem to dent the feelings

Thanks for this explanation of a fascinating and super useful concept. I'm curious how this concept might be applied not just to events, but also to living within unjust, broader social systems - for instance living in a capitalist socio-cultural structure that values profit over human life.

I work with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people. Moral Injury is an issue that frequently impacts this population when they have a crime of passion or violence that arose from gang membership or fights that got out of control. I'd love to see how this can be used to help them heal and reintegrate into society.

The feelings of hurt are hardly mentioned in Beckian or further developments of the model. Look through the index of any mainstream CBT published book & the word is never normally there. Yet there are some main themes associated with this feeling - which REBT separates out as having a few specific associated cognitive appraisals. Anger can also be associated with thoughts of revenge if a person feels a moral injury has been perpetrated. Responses to a moral injury are not necessarily associated with a DSM/ICD eligibility criteria for meeting a PTSD "diagnosis". But I think you mentioned this. The information you summarise is so very knowledgeable, but a respectful suggestion - slow down!! A lot of useful psychoeducation spoken so quickly it is like you are in a hurry! So - to truly absorb/listen to so much in such a hurried way results in the need to go over the video & stop it, re-run parts for the information to be absorbed. But so much information spoken so quickly - could result in those who need to hear it, just mentally switching off. Hurt it seems to me is the missing feeling within Beckian style CBT? Becomes part of depression. Here Prof Dryden, & A. Ellis are spot on in acknowledgement of hurt as a distinct and quite a destructive emotion - especially when associated with self-depreciation. This can be associated with a sense of moral injury. A lot of excellemt information and knowledge - but crammed into such a short amount of time? However, greatly appreciate your knowledge and a growing amount of excellent educational videos.

Topic is very interesting and you are very thorough and basically it's pleasant presentation.
But please, editing is absolutely needless and rather distracting, why would you cut something that is perfect?
You might upgrade the view if you think there's need for something like that by adding your cool aquarium in background.
    regards.

Gonna add my aquarium eventually to my intro but happy with the background :) haha you should see what it looks like when it’s 40 minutes pre-editing! Appreciate the constructive comments x
