Dislaimer: I realize that Sonic from the Archie Comics is much more faster and OP than the videogame Sonic. That's why in this Theory video I made I'm ONLY talking about the Videogame canon Sonic.. not the Archie Comics. So for those of you saying that he's faster than light and there are sources, that is definitely true for the comics.

Good video and all, but I thought that "black hole" was a Nega-Hyper-Go-On energy explosion. You know, the stuff Eggman was extracting from the wisps in the Asteroid Coaster to power his mind control cannon? The arm from the ferris wheel boss punctured the mind control cannon and caused it to backfire when Eggman attempted to activate it, allowing the Nega-Hyper-Go-Ons to escape and envelop the park in its wake. I've played Sonic Colors many times and don't remember Eggman or anyone else ever mentioning an artificial gravity generator.

But since it looks and behaves like a black hole, Sonic fans on the internet called it a black hole and started claiming that Sonic's so fast he could outrun a blackhole for a while, lol smh. Since Sega never stated it in the game, It's not a blackhole, but it does behave like one, so I compared it with a black hole.

You said it yourself sega doesn't confirm anything about this, so how can you say the "fake" black hole doesn't work as well as a "natural" one. In several franchises such as quantum break and Star Trek, the artificial black holes made operate just as efficient as natural black holes. True the different franchises have different rules for their universe, however that still doesn't change the fact that artificial black holes are always weaker than natural ones. In sonic colors the gravitational phenomena used gravity to bend space....BEND SPACE......and suck everything in in. Nuff said. Your sonic/flash comparison is wrong as well. Barry can't move Ftl anymore and sonic has broken the time barrier since Cd, later reinforced in secret rings, and completely confirmed in generations. He literally fixed time in space with speed. You can't be only as fast as sound to do that.

Sonic has infinite speed so basically Infinite Strength. Super Sonic is basically Sonic only he can fly while still, and is also invincible. Hyper Sonic just gives seizures to his opps. Dark Sonic is Sonic but with negative and dangerous intentions.
According to a fanmail segment from the comics, sonic's top unaided speed is mach 15. But this is the comics.
As far as Knuckles Strength, it's stated to be equal to sonic's speed. So at an absolute minimum around 100 tons.

superplayer51 except okay imma refer to dragon ball so when goku turns super saiyan God and it runs out but he still has the strength because his body got used to the power and so that would be the same for sonic when he is hyper sonic he gets used to the speed but it doesn't stay that same forever when it drops out it only just give a tiny little boost of speed for him and he has progressed in speed over the years and he hasn't been hyper for those years so he could've surpassed hyper most likely not but probably surpassed super when he was super in sonic 3

Quick point about Knuckles: I've always thought that his connection to the Master Emerald made him able to resist chaos energy when used by others, which is why he could hit Sonic out of his super state. He's also able to go super once you collect the Chaos Emeralds as him, remember, so it's reasonable to think that he may be as good as or better than Sonic with that power.
The only problem with this is that he can't knock you out of super form when you actually fight him.

***** Well here is the thing, they never said that was Sonic's top speed.
And I myself have two oficial sources of information, one being the Pedigree’s official guidebooks and the SEGA aproved book History of Sonic the hedgehog which both mention Sonic casually crossing the speed of light (in base form).
Along with that I also have 2 different sources regarding Sonic as being the fastest videogame hero ever created, making him faster than, Ristar, Kirby and Asura all being ftl.
Now I have some other proof, one being from the game Sonic Unleashed where the move Light Speed Dash (which is light speed) is clocked at around 350 in the SPD meter, however Sonic himself can get over 2000 in the SPD, that, would actually make ftl.
Also keep in mind that the SPD can be considered SEGA'S way of telling how fast Sonic is going without having to make the gameplay awkward.
Another thing I have is in the game Sonic Colours for the 3DS Omega says that Sonic will eventually cross the light barrier, to each Sonic replies that Light speed is too easy for him, heck and Tails seems to agree as he doesn't show any signs of skepticism.

Even Gnoggin in his rebuttal noted how that is just a game mechanic (it's like saying super sonic only dies by falling in bottomless pits and getting crushed). Idk if you watched Gnoggin's video, but you def. should, he craps all over Mattpatt and his theory lol. Sonic could be going light speed or speed of sound, if that's the case the game would be over before it even started if he went at light speed.. since light speed covers millions of miles in a second. And yeah, I remember playing Sonic Colors on DS.. what sonic said always sounded weird and cocky to me, but oh well. At least we all know Sonic is the fastest thing alive in his universe, and definitely one of the fastest fictional characters. Also in Sonic CD, sonic dodging lasers is impressive, but other characters like Spider-Man can do the same thing too, and Spidey isn't faster than the speed of light, he's just got fast reflexes like Sonic (not to mention Spidey's Spider Sense)

Yes I have watched both theories, both are flawed, Patts theory was flat out cringe worthy, Gnogin's was fine and I saw he was coming from a good place. If anyone has a question about speed being power. There are two examples I have: flash has an infinite mass punch, and a good punch has large momentum which means you have to punch faster.

You have made many mistakes in this video:
1) Base SONIC can go faster than light (Sonic colors, Sonic Generation, Sonic CD, Sonic Unleashed), and may Travelling in the past or present,
2) IN SONIC COLOURS was a real black hole formed by wisp, for example in DS when SONIC was converted into a black hole by Deny wisp, and then the same thing.

3) Super SONIC and much faster than the light, for example in SONIC RUSH with Burning Blaze and SUPER SONIC can easily escape into a universal black hole by the Eggman's robots

6) SLOW MARIO AND SONIC respect, the only games of Mario bros confirming his speed are SUPER MARIO WORD and PAPER MARIO. no comparisons, Sonic compared SUPERMAN has infinite speed.

i do not think flash is faster than sonic. Just like gnoggin said he just doesn't want to. when sonic was running up the chain if he went his full full FULL speed he might break the chain so he'll might fall. BUT i say if he went the speed of light to get up the broken chain (saying he went to fast and damage blah) he might create a wave so powerful that it'll reach the ground and damage the area. Also there is if he went too fast he could of accidentally time travel ( with flash being able to time travel with speed) so i think sonic is way faster than flaah without super or hyper. traveling as fast as possible in hyper may just create a wave and destroy existence itself. but i know some of u people think im over rating hyper

Ahh...Terminal Velocity Act 2, a memorable Sonic Colors moment and my favorite TV Act 2.
When going faster than the speed of sound not only does it look like things are frozen in place but it also makes it a higher chance for death as stated. Therefor sonic, he had to learn to highten his senses so he can dodge significantly.
I dunno if I should mention that Sonic was confirmed to be faster than light in an Official Annual Book, by E-123 Omega in colors and by Takashi Izuka himself

Okay. There are good points here. BUT. The "Hyper Flash" is more a Chaos Blast than a Homing Attack. And yes, Knuckles was able to break Sonic out of Super, but it's not that Sonic drops his guard, but the later point that Knux can render the Emeralds and even Super Emeralds inept. the drop in power releases the gems in a small pulse.
Sonic does go faster than the speed of light when he uses the "light speed dash" and in other instances. I believe his body can take traveling any amount of speed, but sometimes he needs a bit of an extra push (like more energy such as rings) to give him the push he needs. If his body can do it with energy helping it, his body HAS the capacity of performing the action. So he really can move at the speed of light. Also, he does control time and space with his speed even by fueling the power of stones to activate the ability of time warping like that for him. You have to be really fast to do that. And I'm sure with Sonic's "luck" and talent he really can outrun a black hole. He can run faster than light. His body is capable of it sometimes, so why not whenever he has enough energy, like when he has a ton of power rings? I've seen plenty of theories that debunk the Flash being faster than Sonic. BUT that and your video are just theories anyway, so you shouldn't act like you're right when the name of your video consists of the word "theory." I really do believe all that stuff and the science behind it; I'm not one of those fans that are just like "Sonic is faster than everything because SEGA said so." But everything else in your video seems pretty accurate. I agree with most of it. Despite all the things I've said throughout this, I love the rest of your video. Also, you're really smart. But you can be wrong sometimes. I'm not saying I'm always right; I'm just saying either of us could be wrong because these are just "theories." So keep on using your smarts, you really do have a lot of them.
Wait a second, weren't you supposed to conclude if his strength equals his speed and the science behind it? You never said if Sonic's speed was greater than his strength, or the other way around.
Ash Ciz SEGA didn’t really say he is faster than EVERYTHING, just most things, infinite was created to be faster than sonic, not as fast as him like metal sonic, not close to like shadow, but FASTER.

First off that was NOT a Black Hole, at least so far as the Main Console Release is concerned. They never once called it a Black Hole and the explosion did not contain an Event Horizon, meaning that by both canon means, it was not a Black Hole but instead a weird explosion probably generated by the Wisp's Energy or Chaos Energy.
Also Sonic did not outrun it, he got his ass kicked by it.
While it did generate weaker traits a Black Hole would create, it was obviously not one, just something that acted like one.
Now as for the explosion, maybe? I don't know. As far as the game is concerned we don't know WHAT it is. We don't know if anything like that exists today however it is safe to say it is probably a giant Electro Magnetic Wave (Which would throw away the "Properties of Black Holes" thing I just said because then it would have ONLY picked up and pulled the metal around Sonic LIKE IT DID). This is all you really need to know.

also in generations you see that the story book series is canon and in that you see sonic is able to break time with his speed which is only possible at speeds near/at/greater than the speed of light
With the hyper flash, I think the actual flash is when he breaks the light barrier. These things are called photonic booms. People have made them happen with a fog that dramatically slows light inside it.
Something I wonder that is a bit off topic-when Whis turned back time to save Goku, doesn't that techically also cause another spit in the timeline where goku is near death or dead, possibly? Like with the split caused by trunks time travelling?
According to Omega in the DS version of Sonic Colors, at Sonic's rate, light speed will be exceeded to which Sonic replies "light speed? That's small time, there's no challenge" which could mean he can do light speed in base form and some games say he can go light speed while rolling and in Adventure 2 both him and Shadow have a streak right behind them but that could just be an esthetic or he's just bluffing.

my own head cannon/ theory to Base Form Sonic vs Perfect Chaos is taht Sonic is also better at absorbing energy. He needed to be in his Super form to absorb and remove the negative energy from Perfect Chaos, but can now do that naturally. Sonic in Sonic colors was able to absorb the Wisps and describes it as "feeling powered up by some kind of crazy energy" showing again, that he can absorb energy in his base form. This is also how Sonic becomes the Werehog in Sonic Unleashed.
well I trust most of this, however, shadow has limiter rings on his feet and it's not possible to go back in time like the flash so some points are a little debatable
My friend Playerback 771 showed me a screenshot of Sonic going faster than a laser wisp, in Sonic Colors DS, and a dialogue inbetween scene of Sonic stating that the speed of light was a cakewalk; it was brief but Sonic at base, can go the speed of light, sometimes. But I still like your video. C:
I still think that at the end of sonic colors is a black hole, since one of the wisps that were inside the space park of eggman is a wisp black hole, and had several of them there, they must have activated and created one gigantic black hole that Sonic could almost escape, and he just did not escape because he was not running at full speed either
I think Sonic doesn't run at the speed of sound simply because that would reduce his control. The places he runs into are full of hazards and enemies and he can't just go carelessly at max speed without time to react to obstacles. So he chooses to go fast enough to be able to see what's coming.

I know I’m late but sonic is faster than light in base form in one of the games when sonic is talking to omega. Omega says sonic is going light speed and then after sonic himself says “light speed that’s small timed for me” and then there’s a guide for sonic unleashed that says sonic is ftl and there’s also a feat in sonic generations where sonic is running SO fast he is fixing time and space and sonic wasn’t tired after that
Depending on the speed of a hit you will get stung really bad if someone smacks you fast enough so imagine sonic max speed slapping you in the face you have died so his speed doesn't technically equal his strength but a slap at Max speed will do some major damage

So the real dilemma, how the hell did that black hole not instantly start messing with whatever planet sonic was on at the end
A few abilities i would love to see that sonic could quite possibly do is like a power wind base attack give his speed which would be beneficial since he’s well speedy. I mean sure shadow has chaos power and silver has his esp but all sonic has is speed and the ability to tap in to chaos or any other ancient power within a given story/alternative universe.also he actually should be able to pull of using such wind like abilities in the first place give that he can plow through metal robots and run across water much more speed stuff even create tornadoes if he so wanted too! I don’t see a reason why he should be able to simply attack his enemies with forceful and compressed wind attacks i mean in some of his other games he could literally disperse little shock waves at his enemies with a simple amplified flip kick in both in the air or on ground even can do it spin dashing. So it shouldn’t be difficult for him to have wind controlling abilities in the near future.

The tiger beetle is said to be the fastest thing on planet earth (unless my sources are outdated); so much so that it goes blind and must stop just to reorient its own surroundings when it wants to turn. About the Gnoggin part, apart from the fact that it's a video game, we're also talking about a fictional universe... a world where anthropomorphic animals with special abilities exist. We don't need to be too realistic about it.
I don't get why people like to say Sonic "outran" the implosion in Colors. Outrunning means being faster than the object you're supposed to outrun, and the implosion was clearly catching up to Sonic. Sonic was indeed fast, but the implosion was faster.
I like to think the Chaos Emeralds have more in common with the Force (Star Wars) than with the Dragon Balls. Like the Force, the Emeralds give life to living things, have a "positive" and "negative" power, can enhance the user's innate abilities, and can grant them special powers. The Archie comics took this even further with its "Chaos Force" idea.

i once heard about a very interessting theory that i want to share its about sonics strongest form ! there a theorist said that its hard to determan the strength of sonics forms since its often changes but one thing is sure all his forms like super hyper or excalibur (just for excampel) are powerd by positiv energy. sonic in total normaly is positiv that means that to balance it all out he has a form out off negativ energy dark sonic. he said that he believes that dark sonic is as strong as all his other forms combined but probablie with a compliet change of his personality more agresive sadistic and brutal than sonic normaly is. i personatly realy like that theory and it would be realy awsome if that would happen

But wait what about Sonic battle? I recall that final fight with emerl was another example of sonic fighting at stupidly insane speed as by that point as sonic had potentially 15 seconds (being generous with how much they STILL talk after the 30 seconds mark) to destroy emerl who at that point had the 7 chaos emeralds plus a huge amount of energy from the destroyed start. Needless to say emerl might a been a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit tough and powerful at this point if his insane moveset didnt already prove that.
Also he is going so fast with supersonic or the other sonics,he is using chaos emeralds as a boost.
i saw this today. and search on wikipedia about sonic, and i saw that he has a ability called LightSpeed attack.....so he does run faster as the light speed
If you ask me I think that Sonic's speed is unknown because Sonic never ever really tries. Sonic likes to have fun, he likes danger, he likes a challenge if he went his full speed I'm pretty sure he would get bored super quick. Also Sonic does have chaos control the first time he used it was in Sonic Adventurers 2 also in Sonic 06 he used chaos control to time travel (even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't need to use chaos control to time travel). Sonic even time traveled in Sonic CD multiple times.
