Superman comes to Gotham after the devastating attack on Gotham by The Joining. With him, He brings $100 Million Donations by People of Metropolis. However, without Superman's knowing he is being followed by His longtime Villain.
Time passes and finally Batman and Robin must battle Superman, who is now under the mind control and plans to launch a wave of robots to take over all of the world's armies.

The batman show and justice league tas are very good at showing batman's two sides on what path he chooses
Tas he tried hard to keep things together but failed and lost everyone close to him until terry came and basically fixed those wrongs and learned how to be batman and be happy
The batman we see batman learn to trust others early and pass that knowledge to superman and later when they are older and he's about to retire he still has robin and Batgirl by his side
