In the present day, Lex Luthor and his Legion of Doom try to expand Earth's polar ice caps using cryogenic rays, aiming to create new lands for their rule. Superman and the Justice League thwart their plans, leading to Luthor's death. In the 31st century, Dawnstar and Karate Kid accidentally revive Luthor, who then employs the Eternity Glass to manipulate time, aiming to rewrite the Superman's past. The Justice League, aided by the young heroes, battles to prevent the timeline from being rewritten.

Watching the start of this I was 100% with the ice thing... Like we need it.
That’s a common theme with Lex Luthor. He could do so much good, and make so much money in the process, but he wastes his potential on villainous schemes, and on his petty grudge against Superman and his kin.

Actually there are lots of accounts on how Lex Luthor save the world just like what he do in Justice League Unlimited in how he beat Darkseid and Amazo. Luthor maybe an villain but just like Marvel’s Dr. Doom and Magneto but they are not purely evil.
Lex/Doom are villains who heroes of their own story. But Doom is an actual hero to his people of Latvaria. A dictator who defeated a far more cruel dictator than himself. He keeps his people in a simplified life where they want ir need for nothing. They have the ability to leave at any time, getting back in is tricky. Those who leave soon try to return, only to be denied. He created a perfect Utopia, and only he is not satisfied with it.
Fun Fact the designs for both Karate Kid and Dawnstar here are based off of Samurai and Apache Chief from the old Superfriends cartoon

As others have pointed out in the end they will lose as you can't send Bizarro back because if there was no Superman there would be no Bizarro.
But without JL or Superman wouldn't there be no Dawnstar or Karate Kid??

Take, for instance, Batman and the joker, the joker was evil before he was the joker but his Batman didn’t knock him into those chemicals. There wouldn’t be a joker or take, for instance the CW flash the and the reverse flash the flash ruined his plans then the reverse flash started, hating the flash, and became his arch rival
Each hero and villain has a origin story and the origin stories tell you a lot about them

Lex Luthor can be comically evil, a self-serving neutral party, or even a hero depending on who writes him. What is consistent is how intelligent he is.
The initial plot of this movie is just.... wtf worthy. There is nothing evil about Lex's plan, aside from creating villainous outposts on the new islands that would show up. Regardless, a smarter Lex would have run this plan by the U.N. and strike a deal where they can lay first claim to the new islands, while also making the Justice League enemies of the state/world for interfering.
To be fair to Robin, they did break into his house.
This reminds me of the Challenge of the Superfriends episod where they got rid of Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman.

This plot didn't add up at all. Notice how getting rid of Superman didn't have any side effects? If there was no Superman Luthor would never have become a criminal scientist and there'd be no Bizarro either. Also, Superman didn't form the Justice League, he wasn't even one of the original members, so how did the rest of the League disappear?

Could have been great to watch, but narrating everything makes it awful.
I hate the character designs of this movie and I also notice a time paradox, if the Justice League didn't exist why are Karate Kid and Dawnstar still there? They wouldn't have heroes in the future if Luthor took over.
They really need to stop retconning that's got to be the worst depiction of dawnstar and karate kid ever. Dawnstar from the 80s was a beautiful image and karate kid from the 80s kicked ass. These two here look like they belong on The last Airbender
