    The carrying capacity is the reason I went away from class Cs. I started looking at toy hauler travel trailers because their carrying capacity is so high. And I can completely customize the back garage area into a office and what not.

    I looked at the Jayco unit @ the Tampa RV show and love the look! I was disappointed in the quality of construction for the price point. For example, the shower looks like tile, but is a cheap wall panel that flexes when you push on it. I prefer the 32L floor plan. Thanks for the video!

    Nice looking rig. In all honesty for the price you could get an Odyssey and put a 4 to 6”lift kit on it with AT tires and blackout kit and still have an extra $50K in your pocket with more clearance than a 2” and more OCCC.

    We are seriously thinking about this one. More research to be done. The 24 is an F600, so a lot more power, better drivability, and can hold a lot more weight inside! The 1100 lbs was a deal breaker but it has since gone up, thankfully.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LISTING AND ADDRESSING CCC! Why do most TH-camrs avoid this? Are they that ignorant! I’m on my 3rd rig. We full timed for one year in our class C, (while in between homes). We have 2,943lbs of CCC without fresh water, 2,543lbs with. Once my wife moved her essential “stuff” in we went over, she quickly learned how heavy “stuff” can be. Shifting “stuff” to our toad and being way under our Gross Combined Vehicle Weight rating, (GCVWR), we were on our way!
    I just subscribed because you know and share the most important features of shopping for an RV!

  • @gorrdd

    I appreciated the detail you went into. But you seem to have missed one of the main points and that is the new Ford 6.7L turbo diesel engine with 825 ft/lbs of torque. You didn't even mention that. That is what makes this a very doable rig, imo.
    I agree about the Sync 3 dash... it almost looks like they made the decision to get rid of their remaining inventory of old school dashes... or supply chain issues forced their hand. Who knows.

    Cool rig, but TBH I see very little reason to not get a Thor Omni instead, still have that diesel 4wd, full body paint, and save a grip of money. If what you're paying nearly $75k more for here are some bumpers and lights...that can be done for a pile less.

Great review as usual and hi Brian 🚵🏻🚓🚁

    By the way, I'm just wondering... What happens if you exceed your Cargo Carrying Capacity ? Will the frame collapse underneath ? Or you will just have lower gas mileage. I think it is reasonable to think that the more weight you carry, the lower your gas mileage would be...

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question! As I've understood, in an accident, your insurer may not cover you should that come into question for some reason, the tires, axles, brakes and frame may not be rated for more weight and it would put unexpected stress on everything suspension-related! The unit will certainly handle differently and there will likely be an impact on the overall fuel economy for sure, but we're already getting pretty abysmal MPGs so that's certainly less of a concern! 😂

    • @johnc3225
      @johnc3225 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly you risk a tire blow out, or ruin an axel. Frame cracking is a possibility, it all depends on how far over each individual axel rating you go. It’s just not a good idea to go over any of your numbers, it’s dangerous to you, your family and the public, not to mention there could be legal implications if you cause an accident/injury and your vehicle gets weighed !

    • @jr.6199
      @jr.6199 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You blow tires at highway speed when the tire pressure and temps rise. 20+ miles they will be at temps and pressures. If you all survive that initial loss of traction, the blowout likely damages basement cabinets and undercarriage items including slideouts, back wall, etc. When the tire tread flys off at 70 mph. Then RV repairs takes months for evaluation, insurance approvals, parts orders, repairs are halfa$$ causing more problems and loss of use returning for more work, more time lost, during repairs they let kill your batteries from run down so you're out of pocket replacing those. The solution is to try to lighten the rear loading, always drive with < 1/2 tank of fuel, weigh it at Cat Scales in a few configurations of gear placement. Buy all steel tires and Pressure monitors. Then replace those tires < 6 years to avoid the next occurrence. Later ugrade to a F600 chassis when you get a windfall of cash. Be safe - watch your tire pressures closely.

  • @Bluponi
    @Bluponi ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, great review... I really like the look of this RV, both inside and out. At 0:06 into the video, From the outside, it looks very beefy, very manly... Almost has the look of an Armored Truck, or a S.W.A.T. vehicle, Police Command Center, or perhaps a " Steel Cage " vehicle suitable for surviving the Zombie Apocalypse when it comes... LOL But yet it looks aesthetically pleasing enough to drive up to a nice restaurant... I wish they would give you a little more room in the dinette area, but everything else is perfect. I know the table for the dinette is adjustable up and down, but is it adjustable left to right ? If I need a little more room when I sit down, can I adjust the dinette horizontally towards the front of the cab ? I think this is my new favorite RV. Only downside is the low Cargo Capacity. I don't think I would bring more than 20 pounds of food with me, so I think it would be Ok

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely agree, I think it looks awesome! And the dinette is not adjustable, though if you could pick up the hardware for that system to move it, it should be very easy to install under there!

    What they did with the kitchen and dining space side is what I wanted done in the 31F. The tv in the overhead cab is just so stupid, having it pop up is such a better design. The kitchen seems to have a lot less dead space, definitely something I would love to be able to incorporate.
    On another note the rat’s nest of wiring in Entegra is just plain unacceptable. I have so many wires I have found that are. Just left cut and not connected to anything, makes me wonder if they actually have certified people doing the wiring…
    But I agree the rig is a nice part time rig.
    PS. The 31F has a cargo carrying capacity of a little over 1700 lbs.

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would love to see that 31F layout with the L-shaped kitchen! And I agree about the wiring, it's kind of nuts how crazy it is. I have a video about our 120V/12V wiring under our bed coming up too. I was so glad I could make sense of it, but I could only imagine if our Esteem had even more complex systems in it! As for certifications, I'm going to bet not... 😬 And 1700 pounds is much nicer, though with all that they put in there, I wonder why your rig has so much more CCC!

    EVERY SINGLE review I find on TH-cam about this coach hates the bed and myself included. The truth is, I think this coach is perfect for even full time I think, great for seeing the country in, but you can't without a bed and you can't put the slide out at all places unless its a campground. I e-mailed them and told them they should take out the slide and use a corner bed and leave everything else alone and this coach would be about perfect!

      @@CozyLivingMachine Another massive complain is that it doesn't have a power reel for the power cord. For the price point, it should have that and continuous hot water and an all electric option with solar.

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. They have fantastic roofs so solar shouldn't be a concern on that unit at all. The F-600 would be the only way to go for a rig like this as well, the CCC is far too low on that F-550, but it's a neat rig otherwise. It would look fantastic with a bedliner paint job also!

    Nice rig, but,,,,,No way I would fit in that driver's seat. I'm 6.5 tall, long legs. 343lb. Another thing, I have a 2021 Corporate rental Ford Explorer Limited Edition, loaded to the hilt. Hate the display system, very old tech. Also, the sensors give me gripe constantly, either they work or don't work. One time I was on highway with no one in front of me, there was a huge truck on lane to left coming up, and the anti collision went nuts, alarms went off, starts to slam breaks on and pull me over to right. WTF, WTF, WTF, ahhhhhhh.
    Disabled, lane assist, collision alert set to minimum.
    I had a new 2022 GMC Equinox, collision system was same, was quick changing lane and left front corner bumper close to rear right bumper of car in front, anti collision alarm went off and slammed breaks on, almost ripped off left thumb on steering wheel, still aching to this day. Should sue GMC. But I was not even close to hitting guy
    Gave that vehicle back to company after 7k, seat was terrible, back was in agony. But as soon as got in to Ford Explorer rental back was ahhhhhhh.
