I have the red one and during Hurricane Irma we ran a tall refrigerator a box freezer in the garage a big screen tv with dvr, a router for internet, a box fan and 3 lamps for 3 days and nights and did very well on 3 tanks of gas. I had a 5 gallon can of mixed fuel and over the 3 days and nights we never used it all.
Hey was your router and TV ok after running? I know the generator isn't pure sine way, but I was just wondering if it is safe to run sensitive electronics on the generator. I have the newer 1200 watt model and I can run 2 small window ac units and my fridge. And it used a tiny amount of gas/oil. So convenient.
Usually they're fine as they usually have an external switch mode supply. If you're really concerned, get yourself an Anker powerstation and route it into your house and use everything as you would normally and charge the powerstation with the generator
Nice plug in load and Volt tester. I've thought about getting one, but then id run around the house looking at all the loads in the house :) I don't play with ac too much. Good job on the vid!
it is probably not the best to run sensitive electronics on this type, due to the total harmonic distortion is most the time, not as controlled as well as with an inverter or a 4 stroke generator.
Try connecting a 12v sine wave inverter to it to power such devices, there is a reason they come with a 12v power connector it's not just for charging car batteries.
Unfortunately no. The reason why I say that is most small pressure washers require 13 amps or 1560 watts to run, that doesn't include the start up amps that is higher than the running current. These generators only really can handle loads that are below about 7 amps of draw.
Hi josh. Thanks for sharing.. My generator stop producing electricity after 2-3 hours running but the engine is still on. Could you explain what might be the reason it happened? I need to turn off the engine like 10minutes, then i press the reset button, after that it running back normally.. it happen like every day im using it.. thanks in advance!
Hooked mine to a dead battery on a F150 and an hour started the truck. I always look for that feature on small gens but manus seem to be stopping that for some reason
Thanks for watching , and NO due the generator is too small to run a welder. I was running the generator at its max and that was 7 amps, you need at least 20 amps Minimum to run a cheap HFT welder.
the generator has to throttle up to meet the load that the grinder/drill on it, and the reason why it can't power the light or two is due the voltage could be too low to light up the light bulbs. in the USA the voltage needs to be around 115-125 volts and in Europe the voltage needs to be around 240 volts. if you are going to use this style of generator on sensitive electronics it is not recommended due the electronics don't like the quality of the power coming out of this style generator. the best type for sensitive electronics is an inverter type.
This is because motors have a high startup wattage and then their wattage drops way down when running. In a no-load condition it is only consuming enough power to just keep spinning so even less. A light bulb has a high startup wattage as well but then keeps settles down pulling a large amount. The generator may not have enough time to react and catch up so it stalls. When starting up the power tools it initially can bleed momentum a lot initially and then have an opportunity to adjust
It shouldn't be smoking that much, it means that the oil to fuel ratio is still a bit off, or the oil itself isnt the best quality, but it shouldn't cause much damage to the engine.
I've got the exact gen color and all from a different company. It's been great for over 20yrs. The jumper cables saved me a 10 mile walk into town.
nice.

thanks, this generator got stolen a while back.
sold!

Hey Josh!!! Ur generator is ready for the show, I have the same one, runs exactly the same and the load response is the same....
Harvey Spooner I will not be using this generator I will be using a new to me Generac ix2000 that I recently repaired
always good to prepare before hand good job
yep it is.

Can you use electronic devices with this generator such as laptops, PC monitors? How safe or stable is the current advisable or not?

Yes. I used a laptop on mine with no damage
Could I use this to power a small water pressure washer to clean bikes in my garage?
Unfortunately no. The reason why I say that is most small pressure washers require 13 amps or 1560 watts to run, that doesn't include the start up amps that is higher than the running current. These generators only really can handle loads that are below about 7 amps of draw.
I have one of these but it starts to surge after a while only with lights and maybe a router and tv.
its probably bad fuel or some junk in the carb.

what is the generator rated to and how much are you pulling off it?
great share Josh ! Thumbs up..
Thanks.
this is yamaha 2 stroke generator
Nope a Wen brand
chinese Clone of a Yamaha I believe
What is the function of the red and black pliers? Those that look like jumpstarters kindly
sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but those red and black pliers are meant as an emergency battery charger.

6:40 thats probably because the motor is at wide open throttle hahahahaha
All you can do, is lug it down at that point!
i did have it overloaded. the 12v circuit takes a lot of power out of the generator head.
Nice vid man but try to but a small welder to it?

why does my 960 watts gen run high when i plug a hand grinder/drill but cannot power a light or two?

Why on Earth would you test a Hair dryer on that small thing?
In order to see if it can handle the load I was going to put it under, without using the actual loads.
how many hours of petrol for one fill?
About 5 hours at 1/2 load. I never got to do a full tank run on mine due I got a bigger generator and this one got stolen.
@@JoshKilen thanks for info bos 👍
Would I be able to use this to charge a 72v 500w electric scooter
what is the input requirement of the charger?
Thats adequate. Not much wrong with that.
DEAN WATERS very true.
Smoke!!! Powered Volkswagen ????
Thanks for watching. I don't quite understand your comment?
What model is that
It's a Wen 850. and it got stolen about a year ago.
I hate when people steal generators
El que pregunta triunfa cuántas bujías encienden 800watts
No acabo de seguir tu pregunta?
Its a little fucking LOUD
thanks, its a two stroke, so it is loud, and can you please watch your language.
Fucking noisy.... how rude is that guy for using the L word..
In actuality, it's not that loud at all. Quieter than a lawnmower or a 4 stroke open frame generator
Trombe romane
???
Mix fail
why would you say that?
@@JoshKilen smoke!!
it is a two stroke, and they sometimes smoke due the oil in the fuel.
It shouldn't be smoking that much, it means that the oil to fuel ratio is still a bit off, or the oil itself isnt the best quality, but it shouldn't cause much damage to the engine.
Not really. I tried 50:1 I use in my chainsaw and still have some smoke. Better that than none and a seized engine
