Your comment about waves of grief is particularly poignant as Ren's friend Calum drowned trying to swim in a stormy sea, as did the friend that tried to save him. I love your beautifully sensitive reaction as always. Thank you.

Oh wow. Thank you for sharing. Wow- i may have chose different words had I known. I would hate to be inadvertently insensitive. But yeah, waves of grief, the ebb and flow of It was just what was coming to me.

@@FreyaReacts It wasn't insensitive, quite the opposite
Ren often writes the back story to his songs in his video description / pinned comment
      This is his from Mackay
"This is a tribute for one of my best friends Callum Mackay. For a long time I wanted to write him a song, but every time I sat down I couldn't think of the right words which left me feeling frustrated. Callum died very shortly after Joe, another very dear friend. Trying to process both created a bit of a block, and to be honest ever since I haven't really been able to fully grieve whenever I loose someone close to me.
One day while sat at the piano I was playing around with melodies and this came out. Sometimes I don't have words to explain or express the thing that wants to be expressed. In those moments I'm so grateful for music
This is for you Callum Mackay"

I just recently found you watching Ren reactions and I really enjoy your understanding of Ren's music and as someone who has also dealt with great loss in my life a big portion of it recently I agree with you the waves of grief just when you think it will subside it hits again. Your sensitivity to his music and the way you understand it all is just beautiful thank you and I cant wait to watch more now you have scratched the surface now I hope you just dive straight in to his catalog and see where it takes you there is so much music to hear. I would like to suggest to you before you do another one to check out his 1 million subscriber video to get an even better understanding of who Ren is even if you dont do a reaction to it on here but for yourself then listen to more of his music it will also give you another perspective of his music and life.Again thanks and i will be watching for sure.

"There is no time limit on grief," a great statement so very well put. Thank you. Ren has had his share, along with pain. As an older person who has followed musical artists through the years, this young man surpasses them all for me, mostly because he stays humble and human, and as he often refers to, his journey has given him empathy and wisdom that justifies his pain. There are two really good pieces that allow a look into who this beautiful person is: Ren's - 'One Million Subscribers - Defining success,' and his interview on the Zach Sang show that takes you through his journey. Well worth a look. Both thought provoking and inspirational. Kia kaha from NZ.

A man I met who lost his son to S. told me ...
He heard a great quote Willie Nelson said regarding the death of a loved one :
You never get ' OVER ' it ...
You learn to LIVE WITH it ....

Thank you for that. Such true words. Like I said for me, I think as far as I can get is accepting. But the first year of so the firsts without them are just so tough. Like just had my son’s birthday and it was the first one without our loved on. “Learning to live with it” my goodness so true.

Ren's best friend Joe took his own life 6 months before Callum's accidental drowning. Joe's death hit Ren so hard that he was unable to fully grieve for Callum or anyone else in the same way. He wanted to write a song for Callum for a long but had writers block. One day the melody for this came to him while on the piano and it didn't need lyrics. This is for everyone to have their own interpretation for what this means to them, just like you said.

❤❤❤I know you have a lot of suggestions, but his last 4 videos are all new, dropped 2 weeks apart from one another. All so good and so different from one another. Nas Halftime Retake (bars after bars, many layers over Nas' beat). Before that, Back on 74/Message in a Bottle Retake, amazing live performance, vocals, soul. The one before that is Fred Again Mashup. Another great one. Ren and his acoustic guitar. Gorgeous arrangement, lyrics by EDM Producer Fred Again. You see his progression as a person who is happier and not as sick as he was.

Wow, I am amazed at the perseverance of this young man with all he goes through in treatments, etc. just to have the energy to put out one song let alone multiple drops.
Thank you for this. We’re gonna have to do like a Ren marathon or something. Because it’s legitimately hard for me to stay away from the music to keep the recordings authentic first listens. Lol
