At the end, he's basically saying even though he's showing his vulnerability in this song by admitting that the pressure is hard and his confidence has been effected, don't get it twisted, he's still Eminem. He's still the rapper who wrote one of the best rap hits ever, "Stan".
Agreed, but then... what is the worst Em song? I'm not even a full on Stan, but it's near impossible to think of an actual bad song (don't you dare talk bad about my wedding song, FACK!!!).
The ironic thing with this song is that it proved exactly the point of what he is saying in it. He's pouring his heart out saying how much pressure he feels to be perfect and meet expectations and how he's just human. People then proceeded to shit all over this song say its trash, proving his point. The last part that you're confused about, he's saying "Im just a man but you and I are not alike, I wrote Stan". Stan is considered to be one of his best songs and one of the best songs in hip hop ever, its practically a perfect song. So him saying that is basically saying "I just said all this shit and its real but dont think I completely forgot who I am, Im still that guy, I fucking wrote some of the best shit in the industry so dont get it twisted".
This song really really hits for me. When I was in college u was turned down from my theater program for being in a wheelchair and they judged my ability to perform based on my physical limitations. Thus song taught me to never jet people determine my success. I'm now on my way God willing to getting signed to an acting agency so those people who doubted Mr can fuck off
Oh goodness, so sorry to hear you went through that. Big support to you and positive thoughts your way for getting signed! I'll be seeing you in a movie trailer soon! Hey, don't forget about us little people!
Fun fact: This song is track 1 on Revival, and the first thing he says is "Why are expectations so high?". The last song on the album is Arose and the last thing he says is, "Now I know." 🤘🏻 I do not understand how that album caught so much hate.
someone maybe has said this. but all the Eminems typing away gibberish is like the thought experiment, "Give a thousand monkey infinite time to type anything they want, there's a chance that one of them comes up with something great". One of the many Eminem typing away did come out with Stan. One of the greatest song ever.
Hey there. Nope, not forgotten. I think I'm a bit intimidated by the title and people's expression when I mention doing that one...lol. That and godzilla for whatever reason (i'm sure I'll find out, lol)
At the end he's basically just saying as long as he is rapping , he is like a god, nobody can compare to me, bitch, i wrote Stan. Stan being one of the most well known, most listened to songs of all time from the Marshal Mathers disc. Even elderly folk here where I live cant help but like and sometimes sing along with it. 😅 Its a raw song for sure. Considered one of the best of all time for a reason. He wrote that. Nobody can take that away from him.
Em has Always Always wanted to do a Song with Beyoncé only he thought all of his other songs weren’t good enough until he wrote this song. Skylar Gray wrote the Hook and Beyoncé sang it. Thank You For Doing Walk On Water. Em got a load of flack for doing this song it was on his Album from Revival. The end of this song goes with the Song Believe. Loved Your Reaction to this song it was Amazing. ❤❤
@@FreyaReacts Your More Than Welcome I didn’t know if Someone else told You or not so I wanted to inform You on this. That’s ok I Love Your Reactions I might not comment on each one but I do watch all of them. ❤️❤️
The video depicts the "infinite monkey theorem": "a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text, including the complete works of William Shakespeare." Or in this case Stan by Eminem. It suggests that Eminem made greatness out of luck and he's not able to reproduce it now. Just like the monkey hitting random keys, he would need an infinite amount of time to do it again. By the way, it could be a reference to his very first studio album called Infinite, where Eminem said he's infinite (like God). And because he's infinite, he's able to do it again. Then you have the lyric "I'm just a human", suggesting Eminem is not God, but a human. And the thing is, unlike a monkey, being a human is enough to consciously come up with a great song like Stan without the need to 1. be God; 2. have an infinite amount of time to do it. So Eminem is basically saying that he does great things, but also saying that any human can do such great things. And then at the end he says "but as long as I got a mic, I'm godlike, so me and you are not alike", which is a reference to his song Rap God and his strong desire to be better at rapping than everyone else. The last 3 words are a double entendre. "I wrote Stan" as in: 1. He wrote the song Stan, which could be interpreted as bragging about writing one of the greatest storytelling songs ever. 2. He wrote a letter to Stan. In the song Stan, Stan writes letters to Eminem and demands him to write back. Although it was too late, Eminem indeed wrote Stan back, which is a metaphor for him not letting his fans down, which goes back to this song (Walk On Water).
Em is amazing. Gotta love him. He gets so much hate. Jealousy is a b**** i guess. Just commenting for the algorithm. Keep it up Freya. Like your chin. Xo
Love your Eminem reactions. I was getting emotional with you ❤ Some songs to listen to (more up tempo, humour, political) - White America Mosh Square Dance Business Untouchable ❤❤❤
My thoughts on the last part which left you a bit perplexed: He's showing a lot of vulnerability on this song, like you said it's saying he is just a human and not a God (o vious reference to Jesus in the chorus). I think the last part is him refusing in the ene to give in to self loathing and instead end off by strengthening himself. It's the MC in him, to be the best you have to believe in your ability. Stan is by many considered one of if not the best story telling song in hip hop so he chose it as an example. Also interesting he called himself God-like (not God) in the end. He's saying, yes I am human and I have doubts and weaknesses BUT on this mic Noone can beat me.
Oh gotcha -- thank you....because, I was thinking it had something to do with his "not alike" song that I have on my list to do. Like something with the whole beef that I was just totally missing. Much appreciated!
@@FreyaReacts great catch! This came out on the album Revival and Not Alike came our on the album after (Kamikaze). So when this was made, Not Alike didn't exist yet. However... I do in fact think it's very possible that the song title Not Alike was inspired as a reference back to this, as he enjoys referencing previous works of his. And Not Alike fits good with his last sentiment on this song. Soo... You might be onto something 😄
Thank you for the suggestion. I have a running list of non-rap suggestions -- I gotta figure that out somehow. The channel is primarily focused on rap/hip-hop though.

It’s hard to believe there’s people who hear this song and say it’s the worst song from him.
Wow, that is hard to believe!
Literally because he slowed it down collabs with Beyoncé and talks about serious shit. If they don’t like it relapse and encore exist.
