I bought the s21 in April for $650.00 at Best Buy. It has been a good phone for me. I had, for a year and a half, the Note 10+. I got tired of a big phone, so I upgraded from a Note to the s21. Felt funny at first going back to a smaller phone. I bought a case that was supposed to be used on the Galaxy Fold. It was very obvious it would not fit. So I tossed it on my shelf. There it sat for a long time. One night laying in bed, after I got the s21, a thought popped in my head, try that pouch on your s21. I was using my Note10+ pouch for the s21. The s21 fit just right in that side pouch.
The most important thing for me is the size. I like smaller phone better, but its $300 apart. Didnt think that its worthed the price since s21 is still kinda big phone tho
I decided to pass on apple this year because they break easily when dropped and after years of using iPhone, I wanted something less expensive. I decided to get a Samsung but realised it's the same price as a iPhone, but the cheaper A52 5g really was so worth it. I really mean it. It looks amazing, works perfectly and literally does everything the same. it's probably one of the best phones I've owned.
I had the S20 first thing noticed was no headphone port access denied from the get go waiting on my A52 any day and I totally agree with the price as well
That phone is awesome for its price, i was about to buy one at 275 USD but what swayed me away was a poco f4 at 350. More RAM and storage, better phone overall.
A bit late but here's my take and I bought the A52s5G which has a better processor. Another reason why you might want to get this phone is that ultimately flagship or not...phone batteries all degrade, no matter the price and they all stop getting updates after 4 years so whether it's the S21 Ultra or the A52....ultimately you have to say goodbye if you want to keep getting updates. I have an S10 plus which I will sell...I was close to getting the Ultra but then again...same problem. BTW you can have wireless charging on the A52 using an adapter and it does support 25W charging ....you just have to get that charger and the cable....the one in the box is 15w

In the USA tmobile has a great trade in deal. They gave a trade in value of $500 for my pixel 3a that cost me $299 new. Couldn't resist and am very happy with my new s21
Looking back now after being on both apple and Samsung there there aren't many reasons I can see for getting and s series now. If you want to go all out get the z fold. If you want pretty much everything that has been taken away on note and s series get the A series. For apple it's best to just get the regular iphone or the previous year regular iphone. I think this is by design and what they want most people to do. I don't see the point in the a line any more.
Great video Jonathan. And i agree with absolutely every point. My issue with cheaper phones is their inability to last as long as a flagship. I hope there maybe a long term review of the A52 to really know if its future proof
@@sahkhareflexy1449 I'm sure with light to moderate use u can make these phones last even a 5 years. Its difficult for more heavier users. I used to use my old Nokia 7610 for 8 years. They were hardy. As time passed newer phones are more cheaply built and don't last as long. Thats what i have noticed with mid range phones as opposed to flagships
@@Sadeshmagic My A50 is on 3 years and still just fine. I use my phone A LOT, deffinatly heavy usuage as 90% of my media consumption and internet use is on my phone(so much easier to just lay in bed and use my phone vs the TV or my laptop) I only want to upgrade because the specs on the A52 look better, and its screen is better alongside better cameras. Ive never had an issue with any of my phones in regaurds to longevity..they all work fine up to the point of upgrading(2-3years) and I only upgrade because I want something new with newer features not because they stop working. If you are having performance issues you can also factory rest and clear out all the junk files on your phone too. The window is narrowing between midrange and flagship. Midrange phones now have the internals of the previous years flagships anyways so its just the bodies that are cheaper(plastic vs metal and glass). Plus midrange or flagship Id still put a screen protector and case on the device which helps with physical longevity. The only benift to buying a flagship is the trade in value you cant really trade in mid ranges for a discount. But you save that money upfront. In the end, its all down to how you take care of things. I take care of my devices so they last a long time, some others who are rough and careless wont see the same longevity. Also 1/2 of every iphone I see has a cracked back or screen..so flagships arent that durible either especially with glass backs. And metal isnt that much stronger as it dents(my watch active 2 has a teeny tiny dent on one side, I work in a kitchen so my hands do bump into things, I now have a case on my watch too).
I've got my A5 since August 2016. The only issues so far is that battery performance drops over time, which is understandable, and the 3.5mm jack has worn down after a lot of daily use and now gets loose, so I can't walk with headphones plugged in. That's why I use bluetooth ones when Im outdoors.
Agree 100%.. I had s21 ,not impressed at all, actually regret it (high price for a phone that doesn't feel premium at all , previously had a Huawei Mate 20 pro *best phone ever had*), passed the s21 on to wifey... and then I just got the a52s 5G and feels even better than the s21 ever did, camera I love, 120hz, bigger battery, etc, etc... and saved $300, all those premium features I had them in the Huawei and never used them (wireless/reverse charging, etc etc)
We are assuming this comparison is simply for Samsung superfans as I have a list of 10+ phones from other OEMs that would match the A52 5G? So you are in the Samsung fandom and your budget is £379 (A52 5G) then the S21 would not even be an alternative as it is a lot more expensive, so this comparison seems a bit weird! So that is open and closed! Giving the benefit of the doubt and your budget is £600 (easily get the s21 for that ATM) and then the decision is whether to buy the S21 or A52 and save £130 with the latter? Personally, I can find 8 reasons why the S21 is better so it inevitably comes down to preferences of features, how long you will keep the phone and whether the £130 difference is that significant? From my perspective, I try to buy the best chip I can get as that future-proofs the device and gives you just that better overall experience. So, the s21 is a winner here though I would probably not get either, as a Samsung fan, the s20SE (seen for £400), as a non-brand loyal consumer, the Poco X3 Pro or Poco F3, both having rebranded flagship chips from yesteryear.
Good Video. With the camera are their software updates to make camera functions even better. I seen a number of the pics not turn out as well in detail and motion blur with action shots. 😎
Hi great video . I have a gopro 7 and I'm thinking of selling it to buy an S21 or Now after watch this an A52 . For vlogging which would you rather between the 3 ??
And then...I pick up A52s 5G and save the day/year. Tell me bruh, what is your opinion regarding IP67 when it comes to those slots & perforations like headphone jack and simcard. Makes me wanna wonder is it rly that resistant while having so much moving parts and opening? Good vid btw ^_^
I just got my S21 ultra after my S7's display got the weird black bar defect... New display would cost me more than the S7 is worth. Guess dealing with O2's crappy service for 10 years and being a loyal customer has it's perks. I got the phone for free. And I'm not sure I like it that much. It's quite bigger than the S7, it doesn't have back, menu and home buttons separate from the screen and I don't like having the front camera in the screen. I don't know why anyone would need those extra few millimeters of screen space? Why are phones so big? And I hate the fact that it doesn't have a charger. It's nothing to do with the environment, it's all about making you go to the store to buy a separate charger. It's not about spending 20 bucks for a charger, it's the annoyance of having to go to the store to buy one after you've spent money on the phone. Sure, I can't really complain about prices, since I got mine for free, but the point still stands! You have to be inconvenienced to buy a charger. Not everyone is a crazed tech geek that has 20 chargers for everything ever made. And I don't like that it doesn't have a micro SD card slot. Sure, compared to the S7's internal memory, the S21 is like an Amazon warehouse, but still having the slot would be nice. Now for the things I like - I like the more premium look. It does feel like a higher quality product. I like the larger 5000mah battery. Compared to the S7's 3000mah. With the correct settings I hope battery life is better. I like that it has wireless charging. I don't have a wireless charger, nor does my car have the feature, but it's nice to know the S21 has it. It's a new phone, has a fantastic screen, is very fast, makes great pictures, records very good video and like any android is very customizable. And it does feel nice to have a premium product. But, I believe the A52 is the better and smarter choice. It's a bit like an Audi compared to a Bentley... Both are owned by VW, but the Bentley is the ultra premium, while the Audi is just regular luxury. I'm not gonna swap my S21 for an A52, but next time I have to spend money on a phone, it probably won't be an S-series. The S-series turned from a Samsung flagship that had everything and offered more into a minimalist luxury accessory item and I don't like that.
The A52 is a great phone but Samsung needs to release a software update to fix the video stability at 4K and 1080p 60fps ASAP. It's slightly worse than even the M51 despite having OIS.
I loved the A50, had the A51, (surprisingly, i liked the A50 more) will get the A52..... no brainer... for me its 2 phones im debating between... The Samsung A52.... or the LG Velvet
So if you go for the S21 and you are a content creator where you use a RODE microphone with your phone then you are screwed if you get the S21. Which is good to know. I get that they want to you to buy extra wireless headphones, but by getting greedy like Apple... removing the headphone jack affects those who want to have quality sound in the content they create. Hmmmm.... something to think about.
I purchased the A52 4G for 290 US dollars (outside the US) last Aug 2022, during the "anniversary sale" at Samsung's site. Amazing bang for your buck phone
I have got the a52 and I have to say that is the last time I won't buy another budged phone ever. Besides the camer which is goog enough and I have no complains to it I actually hate the vibrations. I had a s7 before and I always use no sound notifications on messages and I could hear the vibration notification from the other room while now I can bearly feel it in my poket. My gf has an s20FE and I should have get it too because it is not that expensive and has got everything I need to use the phone with pleasure.

You can use Bluetooth or get an adapter for the usb-c and you can connect your wired headphones that way. I think there's more people using earbuds and over the ear headphones through Bluetooth.
I used to be serious about headphone jack like u. Now I have decent true wireless earbud I have no problem with my Galaxy 21. But if you are hardcore about listening to music witg DAC/Amp, I agree that mobile with 3.5 headphone jack is better. What are everyone's thoughts on going from an S9 plus to the A52 5G? Is that considered an upgrade? There's nothing wrong with my S9 plus other than the fact I just want a new phone. I just have a couple scratches on the phone and that's pretty much about it.
I just went from the s9 to this phone. So far, I love it. I had to leave the s series because I want expandable a storage. Bad move forcing the cloud on us.
I'm on that same dilemma. I've had my S9 for almost four years now, and I didn't want to move to the s21 because it's far too pricey and has far too many things that I don't care for in a phone. I also wanted to stick with Samsung and Android, so my choices were slim. Found the A52, and it's the most convincing so far.
Snapdragon 888 with adreno 660 gpu VS snapdragon 750G with adreno 619 gpu, better stereo speakers, better cameras, better build quality, better IP rating (68 vs 67), better screen (1300 nits vs 800 nits), samsung DeX support, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging. @@OT4Tech Telephoto camera is 1.1x. So it's not that different. 64mp camera is much better on S21. It actually gives you amazing details.
I agrre.
Jonathan I have to give the A52 review to you. Excellent work 💯👍thank you
Watching this atm with my samsung a52 ♡ I'm so happy with my phone :))
He's finally making more videos. Good to see you buddy.
😂 wait, have you not been getting notified of my other videos?
I had the S20 first thing noticed was no headphone port access denied from the get go waiting on my A52 any day and I totally agree with the price as well
I have the s20 ultra (: mine came with ctype headphones
I've been using my A52s 5G for about two months now and I'm satisfied with its performance. 🖤🖤🖤
That phone is awesome for its price, i was about to buy one at 275 USD but what swayed me away was a poco f4 at 350.
More RAM and storage, better phone overall.
Picked my A52 5G up for $99 last month. Upgraded from Galaxy S7 purchased in 2016 for $600+. I'm happy.
A52 will win best budget mid range . S21 just crazy price . better value A52
s20fe is best budget mid range
Got the A52 5G for 350 euros (retail is 450) the other day, very nice to see that I made a decent choice.
Do you guys experience some heating issues with the a52 5g? Mine heats up like crazy even for casual scrolling. I tried every method to ease up the heating but proves ineffective. The service center near me suggested hardware replacement... should I grab it? Any tips or advice? Thank you.
Prolly cuz your phone is fake
I use mine in a thick armor case and it's cold, mine only heating up when I'm charging it,but another time it has normal temperatures.
Yes, trade for one that works correctly. Some of them have the heating up issue. Luckily mine doesn't.
Its wireless charging that the S21 won my heart. But still, some downgrades coming from a S7
Helow.. i just want to ask . Do i need to update my a52 5g? Or there will be any problem after updating? Thankyou in advance for the answer ☺️☺️
Always updated
Great video man! im looking for a phone for my daughter going high school and been wondering if this phone would be perfect ! after watching your video! im more compelled to get an A52 for her now ! excellent channel and videos :)
Go for s20 FE. Price is almost the same but the phone itself is wayy better than the entire A series!
@@arhamshoaib4324 I was struggling to choose between s21 and a52 myself until I saw your comment and decided to check s20 FE myself. it is indeed really good and has everything I am looking for! thank you for leaving this comment 🙏

Thank you for pointing out some of the differences. I just bought an A52S 5g from ebay for $350 + tax.
Such a concise and well-informative content!
I’m upgrading from an iPhone 11, considering Samsung, A52 5G?
I can get it for £325 on Samsung shop Amazon. Is it worth the upgrade or saving a bit more? I’m mostly looking for camera and battery wise. Also considering waiting on A73!
I Know Someone Who Has Been Using a50 For Almost 2yrs Now, No Issues. I Hope Yhu Get My Point 🤗
@@Sadeshmagic Good Point.
The new Galaxy A52s is even more amazing 💪Hope you will make a review about this device.
Should've gotten that one, I didn't do enough research. I got the regular A52 but at least it was Black Friday sale.
very useful and concise, thank you!
Just got my A52 5g for 360 dollars, on a bank holiday sales. For such a price this is a killer
I am using galaxy A52 ,very satisfied 😊
Im honestly very satisfied with my s21+
I need headphone jack
I have tested both, the only thing A52 is a little bit better is the battery performance and the 3.5mm for earphone/headphone.
Nice on the point!! Well done
The A52 is a great phone but Samsung needs to release a software update to fix the video stability at 4K and 1080p 60fps ASAP. It's slightly worse than even the M51 despite having OIS.
I just received a security patch but nothing on the camera just yet. I think I read something that another update is coming though.

A52 & A72 are very nice. The comming A82 will be even more great.
At this point i don't even know if it's actually coming out
@@99Venom yeah.... that can be real for sure,i didn't see any new adventising since a few weeks.
Sold A52 5G for me. Great video by the way.
I may neglect all of the points but Display? You kidding! S21 is definitely better and is the best phone in display
Hey Johnathan, great video! Was really in a fix as to which to buy but finally settled on the A52 5g and watching & typing this on the phone! I dunno if it will go the distance because the A51 I had previously lagged crazily 4 months into my usage! I had to get rid of it or end up getting hypertension!
I got the S21 a couple of days ago! Just found out it has no headphone jack! I'm returning this crap!
Same thing for me. Absolute fucking bullshit. There's no good reason to not have a headphone jack. It's just outrageous.
@@DSlav2488 So I went to T-Mobile and since the A52 isn't in the promotion. I couldn't get it free like S21. I'd have to post $22 a month! So I'm stuck with this junk! I'm done with Samsung!
Use Bluetooth
You can use Bluetooth or get an adapter for the usb-c and you can connect your wired headphones that way. I think there's more people using earbuds and over the ear headphones through Bluetooth.
I used to be serious about headphone jack like u. Now I have decent true wireless earbud I have no problem with my Galaxy 21.
But if you are hardcore about listening to music witg DAC/Amp, I agree that mobile with 3.5 headphone jack is better.
Many streaming support lossless now and TWS nowadays support great codec like aptx, LDAC so sound quality is not bad for me.
Anyway if you use many device, try to get tws that can connect 2+ devices simultaneously.
Good luck bro :)
I have a Galaxy A52, and it performs AMAZINGLY!
My service is with Boost. A51 $199, S20 FE 5G $399.00, g Stylus 5G $199.99. What's the best choice? I don't care about the outside as I will have a cover. But I do want a good fingerprint sensor and camera. I currently have an old S9.
Thank you for this honest review , I love the collection at the back .
Got a brand new Galaxy S21 from eBay for $432 shipped. Couldn't refuse the offer
I'm sure it was used goods
lol, good luck...
I have the a52S 5g and I have no idea why anyone would pickup the 21 over the a52, the s21 plus maybe but regular s21 isn't worth it
What are everyone's thoughts on going from an S9 plus to the A52 5G? Is that considered an upgrade? There's nothing wrong with my S9 plus other than the fact I just want a new phone. I just have a couple scratches on the phone and that's pretty much about it.
I just went from the s9 to this phone. So far, I love it. I had to leave the s series because I want expandable a storage. Bad move forcing the cloud on us.
@@Candikanelane what is the cloud
I'm on that same dilemma. I've had my S9 for almost four years now, and I didn't want to move to the s21 because it's far too pricey and has far too many things that I don't care for in a phone. I also wanted to stick with Samsung and Android, so my choices were slim. Found the A52, and it's the most convincing so far.
I really only use my phone for TH-cam and Spotify, but man that s21 camera is hard to pass on
But you're not gonna use it
S21 is 750 euro and A52 5G is around 360 euro.
Its a no brainer. Good comparison
So helpful! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Wow, great video, thanks! Now I'm wondering if there are actually any pros to buying the S21 :D
Snapdragon 888 with adreno 660 gpu VS snapdragon 750G with adreno 619 gpu, better stereo speakers, better cameras, better build quality, better IP rating (68 vs 67), better screen (1300 nits vs 800 nits), samsung DeX support, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging.
With all that said, I would still go for the A52 5G

Killer Review 💥
Both recharge at 25w,the s21 has no charger in the box and the a52 comes with one. But it's a 15w charger
I've had the a52 5g since launch. I hate it. Thought it'd be somewhat on par with my old s10e. Nope. Laggy and crap fingerprint sensor.
Hey dude, should i buy the s21 5g here in ph it cost 600$ because it is on sale and the A52 cost about 501$. s21 got exynos while snapdragon on A52. Hope you see this. Cheers!
That’s tough because for an extra $100 you do get quite a few more features that could be useful. For me, I would still go A52 because the Snapdragon processor is typically better in most categories including battery life and with camera processing.

Cheaper phones, especially the A series slows down with time and the performance drops down to half as well whereas the flagships like the s series, they do not slow down at all!
A52 4G has SD 720 and its a very capable procesor for daily use.
I dont think A52 will be so slow after some time , because ONE UI optimizations with SD 720 G will last for years.
Agree with you. Software and Higher processor in flagship series(plus orther features) will make it worth in long term use( or I just bias with my s21 LoL)
Anyway A52 5g is great phone for good value. If there are A72 5g model with higher snapdragon than vanilla A72, I may but A72 5g instead of S21
Every android phone becomes slow by time
I just got the a52s 5g (coming from iphone 7 plus) and it's the best phone i've ever owned

Just got a Galaxy A52.😎❤
A52 would be great if it wasn't so massive.
I loved the idea of the A52 5G but it is really pants. sooo slow. Maybe mine's broken, but it takes time to wake up the screen, seems to get stuck in landscape mode a lot, and opening apps takes a couple of seconds. And I'm not a phone gamer, I just use the camera, browse Internet etc.
Am hoping the S21 FE will be a significant upgrade since the rest of the range is either small or too heavy
