    Rae is such an honest and transparent person I’ve had to opportunity to benefit from. I needed help to know where I could purchase certain things and she was more than happy to send me links and contacts. She never asked me for money like the other content creators. These are the kind of people we want.

    Your honesty was brutal but needed. You need to shout it from the rooftop "You will survive, but not be comfortable". No one else has that amount of honesty.

    Rae would it be possible to have a tour of these various types of apartments 1 bed, 2 bed etc and show us the various price points... can also show us various airbnbs...you can also negotiate a commission for yourself/affiliate fee if people book these units based on your review...

    Thank you for the insights. These really help travelers a lot. I have always thought Uganda is much cheaper to live in. I am from Kenya, though food is expensive here but the rest are affordable compared to UG. I think it is because Kenya has invested much on real estate and technology

    Rent prices have really gone high. I used to rent a house with my friend in 2007 and it was a full house. We each had our own bedrooms, and we used to pay 100,000 UGD each per month, making it 200.000UGS. we paid for water and electricity too, but our bills did not reach 500.000k. We lived on Mutesa II road in Ntinda just above Semawata road. Now I bet you that whole house goes for 10 times more than that per month.

    • @ConnectWithUganda
      @ConnectWithUganda  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Things have changed. In 2007, $1 = 1,700 ugx. Today $1 = 3,750 ugx The shilling has been loosing value over the years, hence the prices have been increasing. The price may sound high, but it doesn’t carry a lot of weight. We used to have 50 ugx that could buy small biscuit then, now it was phased out, like literally disappeared 😂 No one has a 50 ugx coin anymore. 100 ugx used to buy a tomatoe, not any more. 200 ugx used to buy a donut, or pancakes, as we went to school, not any more 😢 Things have changed. That’s why prices have gone “high” but in actual sense, money has lost value. Lots of digits for very little.

    Thanks for the update on the cost of living in Uganda. I can honestly say that the African Americans traveling back to the continent has and will continue to to decrease because that surge of all the ones that was coming right after C-19 was mostly because of those PPP loans . The prices there is equal to a lot of places in the states now

    • @Silverbackugx
      @Silverbackugx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Where in the US can you find apartments at these prices?

    • @blackgod4u2c
      @blackgod4u2c 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Silverbackugx they have plenty of places with affordable rent prices in the States. It’s just that most foreigners always seek to go to the major cities where they going to pay the highest prices. That’s why all the prices on the African continent has gone up because of the foreigners going over and over spending so the landlords and owners has raised the prices. That happens everywhere on the planet once people start moving and traveling to the once low cost countries.

      Mr. Truth Africa isn’t for everyone, it’s tough out here 😀 Most people assume that Africa is cheap, but it is not especially If you wana live comfortably. Though obviously not as expensive as any firs world country. I mean overall expenses.

    • @blackgod4u2c
      @blackgod4u2c 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ConnectWithUganda I agree and that’s why the majority of the ones that uprooted from the States and moved to the different African countries ended up back in the states. They was barely making it in the west with all the resources just to go and fail on the continent smh!
