Born and raised in that area and been here for 69 years, Grandparents Homesteaded where Rocky Mtn National Park is today. When I saw you guys pull in from your long road trip and jump on a 12K foot trail I thought 'this ought to be good'. You have to acclimate yourselves to 12,000 feet, not worth messing up a great trip for it. Seen so many people get sick and pack it in early, while we just take it for granted. Hope you have a fantastic time and pace yourselves. Same for the doggies.
@@HighCountryRambler haha Yep- I knew I was going to be struggling on that trail too with no time to acclimate but it was the only time/day we were going to be able to do it.. didn't want to pass up the chance! I was worried too that I might get altitude sickness later but luckily, I felt fine. Was able to hike the next with no issues 🙏🙌 How lucky you are to grow up in such a beautiful place! Very jealous! We love Colorado so much 😍🥰 Thank you so much for watching and for connecting with me on here! 🧡
We spend 2 weeks every July/August at Thirty Mile Campground near Creede (in our 5th Wheel) We take our side by sides out on the trails, do some fishing & just enjoy the cooler weather & relaxation. We farm & ranch here in NW Oklahoma & treat ourselves to our annual Colorado vacation after a long, hot Harvest season. So many great memories to share with our kids & now grandkids. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us
@@okiefarmerswife7154 No kidding! We just discovered Creede! Well we have not been there yet but discovered via internet.. it looks so beautiful there! We've just added it to our list of places to visit. Thank you so much for sharing that! And thank you for watching my video ❤️❤️
@@twodognite it’s our little slice of Heaven. I lived in Alaska for awhile, so this area of Colorado reminds me a lot of what I love & miss so much. Ouray & its trails are our favorite, but Thirty Mile & Creede are closer. If you get a chance, check it out. We haven’t been to Silverton since they banned side by sides, 4 wheelers from town.
That was a great video, we spent 15 years ice climbing in Ouray and that area and have never been there in the summer, go figure🤷♂️ One of these days! To much to do and not enough time.😬😃
That's what I always think, too- not enough time! The San Juans are so beautiful.. one of my favorite ranges. That is so cool that you've ice climbed!! Wow 🙌
There are hundreds of miles of roads and rrails in the owyhee mtns south of nampa. No restrictions on trails. Tons of old mines and silver city ghost town you can eat at and stay the night if you want. Quite a few creeks and water falls to see. Close to IF. 5 hrs anyway
@@twodognite have you been to the dunes with your toyota? That's fun to drive on with trucks. You can drive out somewhere kinda secluded and camp. There's fun spots up there away from people. Alpine is a cool little place and it's super close too. Right on palisades lake. Your in a meca of fun places to explore. Have we you been to lava hot springs?
Did you actually take Imogene Pass, or just drive by it. I was trying to trace your loop. I miss CO so much. Had such wonderful memories of my early 20s in the Eagle Valley and Vail.
Appreciate the footage but a couple tips-invest in a mic so we can hear you over the drone of your vehicle and music. Volume equalize your video so it doesn’t go from your soft faint voice to heavy loud bass pumping music. Otherwise keep doing what you’re doing.

Nice footage of the towns, vistas, and pups. Especially liked the green peaks with snow near Ouray. Thanks for sharing!
