Night 2 of our 6 night overlanding trip thru Idaho and Western Wyoming... 📍Challis, ID Visited the Bayhorse Ghost Town on the way up! This was such an awesome find!! There is also a Big Bayhorse Lake about a mile away such we planned on hiking to but the trail was super muddy. You can also drive there but we ran out of time.. Night 1 of our week long overlanding trip through Idaho and Western Wyoming. Starring: Me (Susan), Gary and our pups: Willow and Lola. Our dear friends, Derrick & Kimmie and their two boxers, Ali and Lincoln. *I had some technical difficulties with this video and when I finally got it playing at proper quality I realized I spelled my own handle wrong at the end 😂 *TWO DOG NITE* 🐶🐶

That was a great video, we spent 15 years ice climbing in Ouray and that area and have never been there in the summer, go figure🤷♂️ One of these days! To much to do and not enough time.😬😃
When you lose the second row to the pups, I call it the 4Runner Packing Puzzle😂😬🤔
We did Bayhorse and Silver City on our way to the Owyhee’s last year. Love ghost towns😃 That lodge is a pretty nice find👍
We'd like to go back and see the bigger lake.. this was one of those unplanned nights that turned out so sweet!
@@twodognite we would have loved to go up to the lakes, but we were pressed for time getting to our next camp. They look awesome though.
Great video, absolutely love that area! We just got back from the Owyhees last week. Can’t imagine traveling without out two pups😀🐕🐾
@@Justcruisintrails Same! We take them everywhere! 🥰🐶
Hello from Idaho. I enjoyed your video journey very much. My wife and I are “Jeeple” (Jeep People), but love the way y’all have your Toyota set up. We’re looking forward to some Fall overlanding soon. Perfect time of year. 🍁 Happy Trails
@westyso.cal.8842 Hii! We love Jeeples! We are very excited for some Fall overlanding, too - heading out this week towards Glacier NP.. thanks for tuning in!
@Gary: Is that a 1 Up bike rack? With your CBI rear swingarm & spare tire, will there be enough length or clearance?
Yes, it is the 1 Up bike rack! Gary just bought the hitch extension and needs to test it out still.. just got the new swing arm installed about a week ago!
@@twodognite Woohoo!
Woohoo is right! 🎉🙌
The MOOSE!!!! Great video! Question: How do you get your dog's easily in & out of your iKamper? I have an 87lbs German Sheperd. I sold my RTT simply because I couldn't get him high up there without having to carry him up and down.
I personally struggle.. Our girls are 50 and 55lbs.. Lola is easier because she's more compact but Willow is long .. Gary usually takes them up and brings them down. I think one day we will get an offroad teardrop- we would like to anyway. 87lb GSD sounds impossible!
Great videos. I the future can you do a video on your 4Runner ? Would like to see what mods you’ve done and what overlanding and camping gear you’re using . Thanks . Just subscribed.
Absolutely! Thank you for watching and for Subscribing- truly appreciated! We will try and get that video together for you very soon!
Camped there in Bridger-Teton a couple months ago! Loved this spot, great views to wake up to if you can get one of the higher camp spots
They are hard to get- was pretty happy to get the one we did! It's a beautiful area 😍
I love watching this. You capture the best parts! I'm sure I'll regret this later but you have permission to capture my breakdown(s) 😂. Yes, camping can wear you down 😅. Love you guys 😘
That was such a good one!! 😂🥰🥰 Love you more!
Love your videos!
Thank you so much for watching them! 🥰 I really appreciate your kind words 💛
I loved the sunrise - we’re so lucky to have wonderful national parks.
I was sooo glad I rolled out of the tent for that! I almost missed it- I was running down the road in a hurry to catch it 😂
So happy we ended in the Tetons. When we came up three years ago it has stayed at the top of my list of favorite places to camp. Love you guys!
We are always sad to part ways.. we love you guys too!
That camp area is on my bucket list! And moose in camp. Last trip out, my Ridgeback discovered the joy of chasing pronghorn antelope. No way was he gonna catch them but he was in hot pursuit. Fortunately the e-collar worked out to 1/2 mile as advertised! He crashed hard for an afternoon nap.
Omg! 😳😂 Thank goodness for the e-collar! Yes, those moose were right at Camp Rangers spot!! Totally did not expect that.. we actually pulled over because we saw the 2 deer .. and then whoa- 2 bull moose in the and spot!
Best part is Lola falling asleep sitting up towards the end of the video XD
Haha! I can't believe I didn't notice that at first.. 😂🥰🥰
Wow. Those bull moose with the mountain background. Worth all the hassles right there. Great stuff.
One-hundred percent! Also.. I always say how it pays to get up early! You always catch the magic!
I live in Idaho and yes I have camped there. Beautiful area!
It was such a great find for us! We definitely plan to return!
A french explorer named the grande tetons. French for big tits. Exact translation. Boys are the same nomatter the century 😮😊
Girls are so much better looking without all the makeup. Plain is real and your real is awfly cute.
☺️☺️
I have a question . If you packed your truck clear full, how long could you stay out in the mtns. Without going into town for supplies? And how many miles could you drive?
It depends.. you can pack extra water and gas in roto packs, food is usually what we run out of first.. I would say a solid week if you weren't going to drive a whole lot. Temperature matters as well. In the Summer (with dogs) we go through a lot of water which is why we try to camp near a fresh water source. If you're with a group, you can last a little longer and share your resources. On average, I would say 3-4 days before we head out for a resupply. And usually we like to move around and find new places to camp, so you just sort of plan to hit the stores on your way out to the next site..
@@twodognite your regular trips are one thing. But if you had to live as long as you could and travel as far as you could on good highway.
@@twodognite and you can't just say, I'm cute, I get by....
@@user-bd5md5cm2j 😂😂 🥰
Was just there a few weeks ago. What a magical place
Yes it is!
I think you are lost before you started that's not east Idaho central at best lol
Haha! Yes, we do end up more Central
Wow!!! What a shot! I love watching the hot shots workin. Such a cool hotsprings inside that ole barn. ❤
We loved watching them too! So wild to see those big planes flying so low..
the best dogs!
They sure are! 🥰❤️
Love your videos! So beautiful. We are looking to take our dogs camping...what are those beds and the seat cover that your dogs use in the back seat? They look like cozy nests, perfect for curling up.
Thank you!! I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos 🥰 I thought I replied to this yesterday but I don't see it now.. The dog beds are from @@k9ballistics.. Ripstop Deep Den Dog Bed.. we LOVE them.. so durable- we use them indoors and outdoors and also helps keep them comfy and stable inside the truck. The seat cover we just ordered from Amazon.. I don't remember the exact brand but there are many that are similar and work really well!
Dogs rule; cats drool! Nice vid.
😂 Thanks for watching!
We love your videos, so beautiful ...we are wanting to take our dogs camping with us and I was wondering, could you share the details on those beds and the seat cover you have?...the dogs look so snug and comfy
@KevinandCarolineFerreri Thank you!! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos- we love traveling with the dogs! The beds we have are from @k9ballistics .. they are amazing! Super durable.. we use them indoors and outdoors. Last time I checked this particular model was out of stock or maybe they're designing them differently now.. but it's the Ripstop Deep Den Dog Bed.. The seat cover is just one we ordered off of Amazon
Great video! That lake is beautiful!
So cool to see the planes fly so low like that! Amazing! Thanks for sharing!
What is the brand name of your folding table holding the stove?
Hi! It's REI brand! We bought it a few months ago and we love it.. our friends picked one up, too and they love it as well.. @REI Camp Roll Table
@@twodognite Thank you. Some of the reviews said it was a little flimsy. I have a folding plastic table but trying to downsize. It folds in half but still a bit awkward.. I have two of the Walmart alum 'cocktail' tables I guess I could put together.
@erickaesman4001 This one is metal. It's really sturdy- I pile all kinds of things on top of it. I say all the time how glad I am that we bought it 🙌 I think it was like $80 but REI has sales all the time.. I think we bought it during one of their sales
Awsome been to all these places. Keep up the great work
Thank you! I always feel like we run out of time to see so the things we want to but it's what keeps us excited to get back out on the next trip!
Ive always loved being in Stanley & surrounding lakes. Great trout fishing
We were totally kicking ourselves for not bringing the fishing poles!!
@@twodognite next time🎣
Lincoln peekin his head outta the tent 😂🐾❤
Isn't that the cutest! 🥰
Im pretty sure I know that cut you went up. Watching dogs run in the wide open is the best. Cool moose too and great video.
One of our favorite areas! And same- it makes me so happy watching them run free and having the time of their lives! Thanks for checking out my video! 🙌
Hey Susan, I love what you're doing .. I'm from Idaho too ... I'm sending you a DM on IG. :-)
Amazing
Looks like a great spot to camp at Little Bayhorse Lake! I didn’t know about the Bayhorse Ghost Town either, such an awesome find. Too bad the trail was too muddy for the hike to Big Bayhorse Lake, but it looks like a spot worth coming back to. Thanks for sharring your adventur!
@TalesFromAbroad-SJ It was too bad that the tail was muddy but leaves us something to look forward to for a return trip! Thanks for watching.. it looks like you have been to some amazing places!
There are hundreds of miles of roads and rrails in the owyhee mtns south of nampa. No restrictions on trails. Tons of old mines and silver city ghost town you can eat at and stay the night if you want. Quite a few creeks and water falls to see. Close to IF. 5 hrs anyway
Good through october
@@user-bd5md5cm2j Thank you! I'll start looking into that area.. appreciate the suggestion!!
@@twodognite I used to live in IF
@user-bd5md5cm2j I'm relatively new to this area.. appreciate your suggestions!
@@twodognite have you been to the dunes with your toyota? That's fun to drive on with trucks. You can drive out somewhere kinda secluded and camp. There's fun spots up there away from people. Alpine is a cool little place and it's super close too. Right on palisades lake. Your in a meca of fun places to explore. Have we you been to lava hot springs?
VotG is an insane spot. I was there the first of March. I left Boise at 0300 for what should have been an 8 hour drive but turned out to be 12. I fought blowing snow and snow covered roads all the way through SLC, Spanish Fork and then Price. The road didnt clear until just North of Green River. But I found an epic camp site and spent 5 great days there. I liked it better than Monument Valley.
Yep.. I know exactly where you're talking about. That area gets bad snowstorms.. we sat through one coming back up through Price Canyon from Green River. VoG is one of our favorite spots! It is as you said.. almost better than Monument Valley.. I think of it as a mini Monument Valley.. but without the crowds! Thanks for watching the video!
Wow, that morning sunrise after breakfast up the road was spectacular along with the mystic foggy lake. Bravo!
Definitely worth the lack of sleep and cold temps! 😂 Such a beautiful surprise
Nice lake we have been to the ghost town. Way cool
There's actually a second lake up there but we didn't get a chance to go see it. It was a great find.. would definitely go back up there!
Is there maps available for this part of IDAHO ?
@@jonbuchheit3911 Hi Jon! We use Onyx Offroad and Dyrt while out on the trails.. Gary does a lot of research ahead of time just on Google Maps.
Great episode 👏 I think a 180 Awning would be a good investment. It's better than being stuck in RTT or vehicle.
@timdavenport2943 thank you! Yeah we literally just bought one because that's what nakedness on our trip to Colorado.. lots of rain and we were stuck in the tent for hours. So far we love it .. it was nice to have it on this trip

I love this! Bayhorse is a little gem.

Lovely lake! Any fishing there?
Yes! The water was pretty clear and we could see tons of fish swimming around!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL scenery! Thanks for taking us along ❤ I am obsessed with Ghost Towns
That was such a sweet find! There are actually 2 lakes I there but we didn't make it to the second one. And we love the old ghost towns, too.. imagining what life was like back then..
@@twodognite it really was a sweet find. They are always so fascinating
