This Jag is probably born for the track but, engineered for the rallies. A true killer in the secondary roads. Its quick realease troque curve is just "sans pareil". Goodbye 911s, AMGs and other Salvation Army trumpeteers. Battle of Britain at its finest 🇬🇧🎖🎖🎖
Spoke to the designer of the project 8 at a Jaguar track day event and the passion he had for every detail of this car was incredible. Really shows in the final result. Had only good words for Harry too!

Jaguar has been upping its game, like never before since TaTa an Indian steel conglomerate with immense funds bought Jaguar. The X351 new chassis 2010, was a game changer for Jaguar alone with the new AJ 111 generation 5 liter V-8. After seeing a 2012 0r 2013 XJ supercharged (470 HP) having a good work out on a U-Tube video in 2017 that were available used for around 30K, I knew what my next car was going to be. In 2017 Aug., I finally found a low mileage XJ L Super Sport (510 HP) at the Palm Beach FL Jag, Aston Martin dealer. After 3 yrs. I'd never get rid of this awesome,ass hauling limo/race car. Also the Project 8 midsize Jag,set the record at the Nuremberg ring 7.21 was the fastest of 12 midsize cars including BMW, Mercedes Benz etc. So if you would like one of the fastest, best handling cars with sleek elegant styling with a decadent luxury interior unlike the rest of the pack, then buy a used Jag,Indeed.Or a new one if you have $124K!!

My neighbor happens to be one of the directors...I have discussed the subject with him on several occasions as i was considering importing a car from Japan. In 2007 The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia "icbc" looked at accident data and found right hand drive cars were up to 40 per cent more likely to get into an accident. In 2009 a study by Quebec's insurer found right hand drive cars to be 30 per cent more likely to get into a crash.
I had the opportunity to drive the car both on track and road and I can only agree with you. What makes it special is the incredible versatility it offers. So easy to drive as well! It's much more intimidating to look at than to drive. I also totally agree on the 4 seater variant: as a saloon, it has virtually no competition. As a 2 seater, you could have an AMG GTR, a Nissan GTR, a Porsche GT3... It's less exclusive. Fun fact by the way: the exhaust is so loud it's been homologated in Europe by 1db only ;)
:) I met you today at C&M I was blown away by this car, it's stunning in every way. Once or twice a year a car brings a tear to my eye, this one did, congrats the colour is spectacular, just everything.
I'm happy for Harry, but happier still for having chosen an F90 M5 for myself. I don't know how they compare around a track, because I only drive on public roads, but 0-60 in 2.8 sec., puts a big smile on my face. How boring would it be if we all thought in identical terms regarding choice in cars. Enjoy the new toy Harry!

Great video Harry, this really proves to me that my F-Type SVR is really a good one, its ran the quarter mile at Santa Pod in 11.1s at 126mph, oh and by the way F-Type SVR does not have engine cover either. ;)
That's quick, I'd be interested how you launched the car as the P8 should be quicker as it has lower gearing than the F-Type SVR, less weight and more power!
@@harrysgarage Thanks Harry, I've got around 50 runs on the car now and its taken some perfecting. First of all don't build up RPM on the foot brake, this makes the car slower! My launch technique is put the car in dynamic mode and also VMAX mode on SVR. But then I go into the customise screen and I put suspension back to soft, put the gearbox back to normal. I then put the gear selector in S and select S1 on the paddles. I then hold the car on the brake, with no revs, I simply come off the brake and onto the throttle at same time, this is how I yield my best times and the car typically runs consistent 11.1-11.3s, if for example I put the car in dynamic and just S mode it runs around 11.5s and if I leave it in comfort mode its around 11.7s. Was scrolling through your videos though and saw this and had to watch it, I actually worked on this vehicle (project 8, not yours specifically) while I was on placement for 1 year at university, awesome car, and a great project to work on!
Would love it if you did this same sort of video with the Testarossa (on track) / Countach. I realize they won't be as insanely impressive, number wise, as this new Jaguar... but with the context of history, it'd be really neat to see where they stood. Excellent video as always!
Just bought mine new off the lot... 2 years old lol. White on black to match my XKR-S GT. Immediately drove it 500 miles home in crappy icy weather. It is a uniquely exceptional machine. Now... if I can just find the Project 7 to complete the Jaguar Modern triad!
This, somehow, has become my favorite "modern" car in Harry's garage right now, I still can't figure out why, but I get excited when I see it in the background when he's reviewing other cars...it's very much a distraction lol.
I like purple cars too, I once had an Audi in the same colour. (At least I think it was) it was a 97 A4 2.8 Quattro. Another nice one was the vw corrado aubergine metallic. Volvo did a nice shade of purple in the 90s, I remember seeing a 960 estate and fell in love so much I had my mk2 golf resprayed in it! Agreed about the left hand drive too, it adds a novelty experience, for the driver and passenger, my LHD 88 Alpina B10 was one of my all time favourite cars.
Left hand drive on country roads, brave man. There will be a lot of people seeing the nose of a Jag swing out behind a truck thinking WTF is he doing! Good car taste Harry!

You almost sold me on LHD being an acceptable compromise but then 10:50 happened and I changed my mind back.
Driving a LHD in a RHD country or for that matter driving a RHD in LHD country results in 20% more likely to have an accident.

Highly practical! Ho many times has Mrs.M heard that? and my missus too!
