    A lot of influencers said that the snails aren't harmed in the process of making products with snail mucin. I mean I'd like a little bit of clarification about this soo if someone knows about this stuff I want to hear. Thank you Cassandra for making such great, informative videos

      So for Cosrx they put the snails in a dark room on a net and leave them alone, and then grab the mucin from there!

      100% correct! If they were it would not be beneficial to the skin

    • @CrystalFier
      @CrystalFier 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Correct! The snails aren't harmed in any way! Same thing applies to bee products. Beeswax, honeycomb, and honey are all harvested from the excess in the hive boxes! It does not endanger them, and does not steal their food from them! 🐝

    • @jonathan1636
      @jonathan1636 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I agree. A lot of influencers I trust say snails aren’t harmed. But besides talking points from the companies themselves, I don’t think anyone has actually seen the process.

      @@Peachgguk-tz6yb I don't imagine they can get a lot of mucin out of it compared to conventional extraction methods so I honestly doubt them, like, the price would have been in the luxury range if that were true.

    I'd love a well researched video on snail mucin extraction, especially if it adresses the claim that snails in distress produce mucin with harmful toxins, and how realistic is the cosrx claim that they just let the sanils roam around on a mesh with no outside stimulation.

    RICE can be good for facial and facial skin inflammation and swelling too...REST, as in rest from actives, stripping back the routine to the basics and concentrating on barrier repair, ICE in the form of rollers, ice packs (with covers), or COMPRESSION with more gentle cooling methods, like cold compresses, also facial rollers and facial massage to help drain any fluid and finally Elevation in the form of sleeping with your head slightly elevated can help you wake up less 'puffy' and swollen which in turn can help with rosacea . I suffer from a multi-systemic disease that causes chronic inflammation, including in my skin, and these things have been extremely helpful. As a side note, I've found that improving my gut health has also helped my skin.

    My skin is very sensitive. The thing is , it is sensitive to outside elements. I can get very red Welts all over & it can be painful.
    I wear sunscreen & foundation, every day.
    Because If I don't, after an hour later I will be ask what happened my skin. With my face red & puffy. It's not every day it's so bad but enough. It happens to my neck as well .
    Now I have got every test that my insurance allows, but for me to continue to test I have to pay out of pocket.
    So the best I can do is try to use product that will sooth the put brakes. I FEEL I am the only one who deal with this. I can get depressed over this. Sometimes not wanting to go out.

    • @monicaclasener
      @monicaclasener ปีที่แล้ว

      The last thing you commented was the same thing I worried about. Rest assure, they are not. There are a few methods to harvest the mucin but the simplest explanation is that they crawl over a plate/mesh surface where they leave the secretion. In the 80-ties workers of a snail farm (for snail consumption) noticed how soft their hands were. The ball got rolling from there. Hope this was helpful😊🐌

There are people saying that it would be "impossible " to get the mucin if the snails were mistreated but I don't think that is the case 🤔. Please do a full video on this subject so we beautiful butterflies can know once and for all.

    Could someone knowledgeable comment on this: “it is highly likely that 1,2-hexanediol is toxic to humans. Moreover, if 1,2-hexanediol enters the human body either via oral intake or through an open wound, it could have critical effects. Furthermore, upon release into the environment, 1,2-hexanediol could cause considerable damage to plants and other organisms”. It’s in the recommended toner + in so many products. Been trying to find some good products but so many have ingredients that are banned in Europe or like this hexanediol where new studies seem to indicate toxicity. There are alternative ingredients that seem to be better but so many recommended products (not here in particular just in general) have at least one ingredient that is carcinogenic or toxic. Not a fan of clean beauty (not science backed + misleading claims) just want something known to work but with the best non touted ingredients also(the ones they don’t put at the front of the package). The toner looks great except for hexenadiol.
