Assuming that nobody said it yet or you don't know yet, you can target the boss more then once with the boomerang to let it hit him several times in a row. This makes the fight easier.
This is a really hard boss fight. It took me a few tries to finally kill this one. The bosses in Spirit Tracks are up a big step up in difficulty from Phantom Hourglass.
Would be hilarious if there was an alternate way to defeat him, like using his ice powers against him. Simply get some ice on the boomerang and throw it into his mouth as he prepares a fire attack and watch him grow :3
Fraaz is by far my favorite boss fight in Spirit Tracks. I walked into this fight, taking down his first two phases with minimal trouble. I certainly found the use of Fire and Ice very creative, not only as weapons the boss uses, but how you also have to use them to take him down. I thought this was going to be a pretty easy boss fight...until the third phase...Then it became a good challenge. And it was super-enjoyable, because you know his weaknesses, you just had to figure out how to use them to your advantage from the third phase on. I'm glad this boss was this enjoyable, because otherwise, I would've completely forgotten the effort and creativity the game devs put into this fight.
Guys, a heads up for Fraaz: His first stages are easy enough, so I'll skip them. Once you get to where he destroys the torches, and becomes REALLY big, wait for him to shoot, ROLL out of the way, make sure he is the opposite element, and very quickly rub your stylus in 3 small circles between the element on the floor and him. When he is in two and shoots three attacks, analyze your map, because they always shoot on opposite sides.
Um...when he splits into two smaller 'Fraaz' one of this is invisible and the other is ice element, however when I shoot a boomerang at it, it comes right back at me, not to the destination I drew. Making it impossible to go further.
This boss is like the Twin sorceress in OoT, and also like Blaaz, the Fire Temple boss in PH, or even like Gleeok, the two-headed Dragon from the Ice Temple in PH. I think it is a mix from those three !
@xDaigurenHyorinmarux Yeah and they decided to make a port of Ocarina of TIme for the 4th time rather than a new game -_- They announced Skyward Sword a year ago (I think so)
imagine if the nintendo company made a legend of zelda game where you fight blaaz and fraaz at the same time. 0.0 I wonder how difficult that would be?
@xDaigurenHyorinmarux I am honestly unsure whether the 3DS game is a port or not. I don't have a 3DS. I like that game as much as the next guy, but come on!
lol i beat this in 2 tries and the ONLY REASON i beat it on the 2nd try and not the 1st is bcuz on the 1st try i went in with 3 and a half hearts, which is like:
Gotta love how Link patiently waits for Fraaz to destroy the torches lol

Thank you so much. I am really not able to beat him, and this could help :D

"Oh, you wanna break my torches? Sure, I'll just stand here and watch while you break my only effective weapons against you." Dang it, Link!
Look at Fraaz when he's fat!! He has the same body as Jiraya from Wind Waker!(The fat ghost)

By the look of it, judging by the blinking darkened floor, he used an emulator. In which case, he could as well used a recorder application for it.
