Zakk is awesome, my first time seeing him I got to meet him, and got a pick from him.
It was on the Sonic Brew tour, the funny part is it was a show that was never scheduled. Zakk was stuck in town, and didn't want to sit in a hotel room, so he booked a small local venue. He called the local rock radio station, and had them announce it. Going to that show, only cost me $1.01, and I got to hear a ton of stuff off Stronger Than Death before it was released.
That is an awesome Zakk story! Ah The days when concert tickets were affordable.... Thank you for sharing that bud 🤘😎🤘
Not bad at all for a show that wasn’t even meant to happen. I only got to see BLS once but it was incredible! Zakk sprayed spit all over himself throughout the concert. Then I heard he rarely showered but I’m not sure I believe that. Zakk has a hilarious sense of humor.
Hahaha definitely some fun facts.... He definitely does a lot of spitting on stage as evidenced in some of the clips - he let it fly lol
@@PistolsPlayground and it was only $15 for a ticket
The bit where you see Zakk on the flatbed in front of the Subway restaurant was a Gibson sponsored guitar clinic mini tour Zakk did in 93. It was just him and two local musicians provided at each date. Not his band. He did a MEAN version of Mississippi Queen and War Pigs. I was at the Greenville SC clinic at Phil’s Music and got to meet him and talk to him. It was very cool. He is one of the most down to earth Dudes you ever care to meet. He could just as easy be the guy that works on your brakes down at the local garage.
That is very cool that you got to hang out with him a bit. Very down to earth guy from what I understand. Thanks for sharing that 🤘🤘
Thank you! That's a cool story you shared with us
Every song from that show KILLS
Book of shadows is one of the best albums of all time! If that is definitely some of Zakk's best work
I enjoyed Zakk's Pride and Glory album.
I love Zakk and his many bands. Pride & Glory was absolutely incredible. Black Label Society is still a great band that I look for to see if they’re touring all the time.
He really is a phenomenal guitarist and performer. In some ways I actually think he is a bit underrated. Love his style!
We need another pride and glory LP dude
20 years old and playing for Ozzy! That's awesome!
I'm a boomer along with Zakk, born in the sixties like his fallen brother Dime. Anyone from that generation knows a guitar god when they hear them and I've seen too many comments from younger people bashing Zakk who are absolutely clueless and have no idea what an incredible dedicated player he is. Met him at OZZFEST and he was the most normal standup rockstar I've ever met. Goes out of his way to accommodate his fans. Did double duty that day with BLS and Oz. If you've never seen him live you're missing out on a show you won't forget 🤘🎸
Very cool story and I really like your take on Zakk! It's true a lot of the players nowadays just don't appreciate that. Zakk as always been hardworking And truly dedicated to his craft. Thanks for your comment!
Who is it that is supposed to be so much better than Zak Wylde?
No Rest for the Wicked is truly slept on by a lot of people.
Sadly it is - great album
@@guitarmeetsscienceIt‘s my favorite Ozzy-Album along with BATM.
agreed truly a raw guitar sound nice n dry , sounds very great doubled and quad
I've seen Zakk like 8 times, without question my favorite guitarist as long as Zakk tours I'll gladly give him my hard earned money. I've never been disappointed.
He's a great player and a great performer! Very cool that you got to see him so many times. Right on 🤘🤘
That's exactly how I feel and I've seen him three times and the first time was all the way back in 2000 and I feel the same way that's why I've always bought his records albums everything and he's about the only person I do that for anymore just to support something I love
Zakk is a auper loyal friend, he never has a bad word about Ozzy or any of his other friends
I've met him at a meet and greet and in a coffee shop when he and Barbara were having breakfast. Both times he was the nicest and most down to earth person. At the coffee shop, he reached into his pocket and gave me a handful of guitar picks!! 🎸
Very cool experience that must have been!
Zakk wylde is my favorite guitar player. There are several guitar players i love like dime and SRV and Edward and some others. I remember the first time I ever heard BLS i thought holy crap that is how i wish I could play. And then i realized that alot of ozzy songs i would hear when i was a kid were zakk wylde playing and the no more tears solo is awsome. He seems to shred so effortlessly.
Hearing Mr. Tinkertrain the first time was when I started following Zakk. Loved those heavy tones and his use of pinch harmonics. Zakk's playing style and tone was new for Ozzy and took that music in a whole new direction.
@@RKDriver That is one rocking tune from that era!
First Time I ever Saw zakk Wylde was on that stronger than death tour for the penchant for violence tour
With the growing of his beard, his guitar skills improved times 100! A real guitarslinger on steroids he is! ♨️♨️♨️
Yep - just like Guthrie Govan, and John petrucci.... Respect the beard 🤘😜🤘
So lovely to see his face without the beard. ICONS FOREVER 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
How much can you tiptoe around all these people who don't want to protect or release your music 🎶
You packed a lot of detail in there! Way to drop some Science. 👍🍺
Thank you so much - totally makes my day!!! 🤘🤘
It always makes me smile & laugh when I see a young Zakk talking with that deep voice & having that huge 80s hair!
Lol it is kind of trippy
Hi, Jimmy! I like most things Zakk, and I met him right before he joined Ozzy. 🎶💖🎸💘🔥Cheers! \|/
Very cool Marc!!! Thanks for sharing that man. Glad you liked it - stay cool 🤘🤘
No rest for the wicked is my favourite ozzy album. Clearly I’m biased but in general it is a great album the riffs are nasty and Castillo drumming is badass
That was an absolutely solid lineup!
If you ever inspired to be in a band or be a musician there is no story that's most incredible as the story of zakk Wylde. At least in my humble opinion anyway
@@bigjermboktown6976 exactly - he's been to hell and back, with setback after setback.... But he keeps marching along
New to your channel and just commented on a previous video I watched before this on Pantera. You do a great job on the info you present in these videos. I'm glad you actually write and read/speak the commentary vs using AI... I met Zakk a few times after Dime's passing. He is such a stand up dude it's no wonder they were best friends, along with how hard they loved to party back in the day. hahaha It's amazing that Zakk is sober now for many years and can still write great music and hang on the road. The road is FILLED with drugs and alcohol and it is really cool to see him not give into that shit. I mean, he has a really good reason so that makes it easier, but there are so many out there that would have relapsed and died... :/ Love Zakk!!
Thank you very much Ryan I appreciate it! I've been half tempted to let AI do the reading, but it just sounds terrible. Not to say my speech is at all perfect lol, but the human element is definitely preferred. That's awesome that you got to meet Zakk!!! Alcohol and drugs have wrecked too many greats, and I'm glad he's been able to come out the other side. And for that he's able to crank out amazing stuff year after year. You hit the nail on the head as far as the road is concerned. People try to find ways to keep sane, and often end up turning to drugs and going completely in the opposite direction they intended. Thanks again for commenting and being a part of this channel. This is the stuff that keeps me going with it. Much appreciated!
Dang Jimmy, racking them up man! I have to say, I had my doubts, but you did it! Genius...
Hey Pat! Thanks man - I had my doubts too lol. These are fun to do, and people seem to dig them so it is a win-win. Glad people are enjoying them. Great to hear from you man!!!
Zakk and Pantera ✌️🤘🏴🇦🇺

TY brother - Rebel rocks!!

Zakktera.... Ha that is a new one - but I like it!

Definitely was
Getcha pull brother 🍺 333!
🤘😎🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
i can't believe zakk and shannon hoon were working together holy crap. man i wish there was some type of demo or footage available
That would have been legendary! Who knows maybe something will surface - that would be pretty cool
Damn it’s like a plumbing company on the road. Blessed Hell Ride and Hagover music were the best albums I have ever heard come out in years. The stuff Rock and Roll was desperately missing at that time. Seen Zakk so many times I lost count. He plays so much better now …the guitar. especially after generation axe. His long solos were so fluid at the experience tribute.
Oh I will bet! That's pretty cool you've had the chance to see him so many times. I hope to catch him sometime. Great player!
🤘Whiskey Riffs🤘
Haha yup 🤘😎🤘
Sonic Brew is what i hear whenever i play Guile in Street Fighter 😅
@@ricardoslhenriques haha right on 🤘😎🤘

Limited and repetitive, but OMG what he does is BRUTAL and SICK SICK SICK!!!😱
He also was on a song by dope addicted
I havent gone to see pantera is he as good to fit in that is the question to replace Dime. I have watched Pantera 3 times with Dime....
Jesus. A lot going on in this man's life.
@@Vaecord91 exactly!!!! As I was pulling together this video I was pretty floored by the same thing. From the medical issues to all the drama with Ozzy, definitely never a dull moment!
Lemmy was the coolest man to set his foot on this planet, now when his gone, Zakk is the worthy man to walk in his shoes. Argumentt??
I totally agree, Shot In The Dark on just say Ozzy. Is the best version on that song
Agreed !!
I won free tix to that highland in show where the shit hit the fan. Was only 16 so i couldnt 😟 i tried lol. Was talking to zakks tour mgr like "dude ill hide in an amp cab if i have to" 😂 but he was like security is undercover cops tonight so it was a no go... i knew all the bls songs on drums then, hell i couldve just been the "replacement" when all the dust settled lol. A man can dream...
Darn security ruin all the fun haha. Great story man!
Ozzy fires them all = Sharon fired them.
Pretty much lol
Its all fun when you realise that its "Cleveland Brown from the Family Guy" narrating. 😃😃
🤣 I've gotten Cleveland brown, and I've also gotten Butt-Head lol
Can you do a video on chuck shuldiner?
The godfather of death metal is definitely on my bucket list 🤘🤘
Hard rock? No….. this is metal. Like the definition of metal….
Lmao Jeff is forever stuck in Dimes Shadow ! Back to jersey with you Jeffrey
Zack is a hack. The man is difficult to even listen to for any extended period of time.
first🦢
🤘😎🤘
That Wa wa wa thing all the time is annoying
This is another great video, Jimmy.
I saw Pride & Glory (1994 if I remember correctly) once in Oklahoma City when they held a food drive (canned goods) concert for charity. I got to see them perform in exchange for a can of Golden Hominy at the door. They played a full set of the Pride & Glory album and associated tunes. Then they came back out on stage and played an additional 2 hours of just Black Sabbath. It was cool. Zack Wylde is definitely a music fan at heart.
Damn cool share man!!! It's awesome that they did charitable events like that.Zakk is a total natural. Thanks for sharing that CDAWG! 🤘🤘
"Busier than a cat in a room full of laser pointers."
That's great! You win the internet today with that one.
Hahahaha Thanks CDAWG!!!
@@guitarmeetssciencethat was funny!
🤘😆🤘 ty man
what do zakk wilde and pantera have in common? both started glam hair bands then turned rugged metal
Oh yeah great point! Talk about a metamorphosis!
