I always learn more about the Mosin Nagant rifle by watching your videos . So now , again , I need to check my 5 Mosins . Like a lot of arsenals , with a change over / transition , they start using up what they have and at refurbishment they “ upgrade “ to newer parts . I , myself , haven’t made a video about it , I am doing other videos , but you should do one on why we call it a Mosin Nagant and in Russia they call it Mosin’s rifle
Really enjoyed this video. So I have an oddball 91/30 (perhaps). I have a 1938, refurbished, counter-bored rifle from the Izhevsk armory. What I found interesting about my seemingly common and unremarkable rifle after watching your video is that my rifle appears to have a type 2 rear site base. It has the pins and holes on the side of the rear site plate. Now what is interesting is that you stated that they started experimenting with type 2 sites in 1939, and mine is a 1938. So that is weird anomaly number 1. Even weirder, is that it has both the pins AND the screw under the rear site! I cant figure out why that would be. So, a 1938 91/30, with a type 2 rear site base AND the screw. Any ideas why that might be? Happy to send you some pics if you like. Thank you! Keep the videos coming!!!!!
Amazing video,i always learn a lot here,i have 1938 izhevsk with type 2 sight,i hope there will be Also video about sights used before 1930,that would be great
