      That's my philosophy a bit, the better your drums sound more likely the samples will too.

      @@mpchead my latest thing when it comes to digging has been trying to dig for my own drum sounds too. I don’t really mess with sample packs as much anymore. Trying to find my own sounds that match my feel. What’s your approach with drums? Do you tend to dig for them and make your own from actual crate samples?

    You mentioned your drums had some crackle in them, and you could remove it but chose not to. Could you make a video showing how to do that or clean up some of your audio?

    May I ask does anyone know why sampling vinyl is different to sampling the same music from say Spotify. I don’t have much access to vinyl and wondered why many beat makers use vinyl as it seems more time consuming and expensive. It looks very cool and interesting.Thank you.

      I sample from youtube all the time. I like collecting records. I sample from vhs, cassetes, vinyl, youtube, cd, real instruments, radio, tv, etccc... This is music, do it how you wanna do it.

    3:55 I got a STYLISTICS record for a buck. Took it home, and it was 101 strings or something. I try to look at the vinyl now before I buy it.

      Yeah it's not the first time this happens to me, either the record is cracked or it's not the right record inside, really need to pay more attention to it.

      I just add some bass to the kicks and use compression on the master to make the drums hit harder.

    Hello Mr. Digs. Do you write down or have some sort of filing system to keep track if a record has horns and such so you can go back to it later or do you just commit it to memory? I love your channel and your music.

      More down to memory but I try to place my records in a specific order like horns and voices and piano to they're space. Not really perfect but works.

      I'm sure he doesn't even bother to get clearance.. digs can make full beats out of multiple cuts. flips his samples like no other

      You can make it easier on yourself and get a Tracklib subscription they have a system set up to clear music you use on there. Also a lawyer is the next best advice if your not extremely business savy or we'll connected.
