    This is the first of my two First Manufacturing Jackets(I also have the Turbine, but have not worn it.) I am also considering the Raider, as well. Obviously ,I like the brand. I have put maybe 5k miles on the jacket I have 4 jackets in heavy rotation and 2 more for occasional variety . I also have a glove fetish, but that is another subject....This is a well made jacket, nice heavy leather and solid construction and really looks good.. I have full armor sets in all the jackets I own and the FM armor in their products.... I am 6' 250lbs on a large, muscular frame with considerably more gut from six packs than a six pack itself.... I wear the 2XL in both jackets and other than the below mentioned sleeve length, fit is good, with full armor installed and and ample layering room for colder weather while still looking/feeling good over just a tee...
    The sleeve and chest vents along with the rear vents work very nicely. If you ride a naked or semi naked bike, this jacket will offer a tremendous amount of flow thru venting and can be worn in temps into the 80'sF (and higher) on the open road. Urban riding with consistent starts and stops more than pushes the comfort envelope at those elevated temps, however. 70-80F degree over a tee shirt is comfortable with all vents open and 50's are a no vent situation, generally. ...The liner is pretty much useless in my opinion, and I am one to often use a zip in for commuting purposes. The collar retainer snap is quite handy and I pretty much ride with it snapped back all the time.
    It is a fine cold weather jacket, has a good wind flap behind the zipper and fits well even with electrics and fleece. I have worn in the low 40's with electrics on a naked bike and been quite comfortable. This jacket is perfect for the damp/cold mornings and warm/hot afternoons of Spring and Fall in North West Alabama and SE Tennessee...
    The inside pockets are very roomy and very handy. I cut the silly pistol holsters out. Mine had leather pull tabs on the zippers, which some do not like. I find they work very well in terms of ease of use of the zippers and I have not removed mine.
    I have only one issue, it is that I am a bit long of arm for the sleeve length(on both of my FM jkts.). I presume this is a nod to cruiser riders whose bar reach is shorter than my more standard/ traditional bar height(BMW R1150R). For those with longer arms, be wary of this and check it on the bike when you get it. If sleeves were even a little bit shorter, I would have to find another jacket/brand.
    I find this to be a great jacket and an excellent, extremely versatile value that I am proud to own and I look forward to trying out the Turbine as the weather warms...and perhaps even the Raider by next Fall.

      I'm looking for a leather jacket that cuts wind chill in between seasons for a out 40 degree weather. How does this hold up on cutting the wind?

    I'm a 2x in most shirts and jackets. What size should I get this jacket in?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd go with XL for a snug fit or 2XL for a really relaxed fit. HVB in the video is generally medium or large in jackets, and he's wearing a size medium. -DrewZilla

    I am stuck between 3 helmets. The Icon Alliance Dark, HJC CL 17, and the Scorpion Exo R410. They are all in my price range. I am leaning towards the Icon since it is ECE Certified. Which do you think is best? Side Note: I wear glasses

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wear glasses, and the Scorpion is the best of those three for glasses. It's also Snell-certified. The Icon is uncomfortable for glasses. -DrewZilla

    Do not use their sizing chart, it is way off. Use the size you wear in a t shirt and if you are in between go up. If in doubt go up. I wear medium t shirt and medium was tight but wearable while large fits better.

    Great looking jacket what's the temperature range? Im in the market for a new jacket I live in Florida but I love leather. Im usually a large. Thanks for the vid.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      With all the vents open, you can wear it up into the 80s, or perhaps higher depending on your own temperature tolerance. At a stop, you'll feel hotter, but at speed, the ventilation works well. With the vents closed, it's perfect for Florida's mild winter. If you're normally a large (about a 42 inch chest or so), then you'd actually want this in size medium. -DrewZilla

    Hi! So as I can see the problems between different models of First Manufacturing's jackets are the same?
    Could you advise me which size will be best for me in Major Ego model? I have ~46 in. chest, ~34 in. waist.
    5'9 ft. tall and 185-190 lbs.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't carry the Major Ego, so we cannot make an accurate recommendation. With a 46 inch chest, though, I would start with size large. -DrewZilla
