Kind of makes you wonder why they don't bring one out stock electric. Has to be lighter and therefore perform better? Great video. Smiled all the way through. Thanks Kev 😎😎
I prefer electric honestly, no mess, no tuning issues and less noise in the neighborhood. While I realize I could travel outside the neighborhood to run my rcs, especially if I had one as large as a raminator lol , I like being close to home.
Love that you finally put an electric motor in the Ramminator. The petrol motor was so sluggish it seemed more like a gimmick rc truck than something anyone would actually use on a normal basis. With this setup I'm excited to see more people buy them. Maybe it's time for a wheelie bar? Great video!!
Just keep your lipos at storage voltage, then they aren't dangerous to store. Seriously, everyone is terrified of lipos because of all the TH-cam videos of people driving nails through fully charged ones, or charging them to 8v per cell or heating them to 90C after charging... But at a low energy state, they simply don't have the energy to bring the Armageddon you fear.
I can't believe how far electric motors and batteries have evolved, 10 years ago i would never have recommend this swap but now its AWESOME. Love your video edits! 😁👀🎉
Tell me about it. I left the rc world about 12 years ago when I was competing in 1/8 Nitro Buggies on the local and regional level. Now I'm back, and Holy cow! These brushless setups are STUPID fast! I bought my 12yr old a Traxxas Rustler VXL this last Christmas, and I've been blown away by how far electric rc has come. If you had told me back in 2005 that soon electric setups would be way faster than nitro, I'd have laughed in your face. I'm looking at buying an Arrma Typhon, or an Outcast now.
Seriously. I never got an rc prior to now because nitro was really the only option back 20+ years ago to go the fast. But theyre still so temperamental that I just couldn't do it. My neighbors next door had a few T-Maxxes and I saw the crap they went through with them. And I wanted none of that lol. Thank God electric motors finally evolved past the nitro stuff.
You can say that again. I went from a Radio Shack RC like 17 years ago (which was amazing to me at the time) to a variety of brand new brushless trucks in the last year and I felt exactly the same way.
I LOVE seeing these electric conversions!!!!! Yeah the petrol motors sound rad, but there's no denying the power delivery is way better in the electric systems
I’m mighty impressed with this build imagine using a bigger electric motor that would be epic!!! Thank you for the videos I look forward to them every day I get off work!
Finally, someone in the UK knows good power tools. I usually see Ryobi cordless tools in the UK TH-cam Channels never Milwaukee tools. I love my Milwaukee tools! Plus the red looks bad arse. That brushless motor for the truck can probably power my Nissan Leaf, lol.
Well, Ryobi and Milwaukee are produced by the same chinese company (techtronic), probably even in the same plant. Those Milwaukees are really powerful but I don't really like them. They feel cheap somehow but maybe it's only my impression. How do they last if you use them regularly or commercially?
Makita are better than Milwaukee. I have some Milwaukee and have considered selling it to get Makita variants of the Milwaukee tools i have now they make them.
That is awesome Kev. Suggestion; Add a colouring to the cooling water - maybe a bit of coolant against corrosion. Use chain wax for the transfer box gears.
YES YES YES! The day has finally came! I love the raminator and now I get to see it electric, and not just that, you are doing it! Love the videos! Subscribe Subscribe SUBSCRIBE!!!! YES!
Primal really needs to sell these as fully electric out the door. Saves buying a gas engine that you will scrap and saves people from having to got through all this work.
I would love to see this as twin motor, and 16s this beast with mgm esc. Then send it to the moon and back. Imagine this monster going 50+mph. Thats quite scary but woud be absolutley epic 😂😂😂😂😂👍🏽
Truly truly awesome. But I can see why you like the nitro as well. It's nuts how torquey that motor is. I guess the other ting about it is you can still get your Raminator fix if you are in a place where noise is an issue.
That is too cool! Kevin you are an incredible addition to the RC industry! Between you and Rav I've learned so much and seen some INCREDIBLE content. Keep it up brother.
I have to say I really really like the Brushless version over the gas version. But the hopped up motor you have a long with that tuned pipe sounds soo good. I can't believe the torque the electric version has on that scale of a truck it has no problem at all pulling the front end up whenever you want to. Love your channel love your builds the videos are awesome I'm 38 years old I've been in and out of the hobby since I was 11 and your channel has sparked my interest in it again. So me and my youngest daughter are gonna go to the local hobby store tomorrow and have a look around to see what kind of TRUCK OR CAR I may want to get into thanks again for all the great content.....
That was like having a kids power wheel at the skatepark 😂😂😂 Edit: Kev, maybe add a small silver coil or a anti microbial agent to the water reservoir to keep things from growing in the rad and res and keep that little pump going longer. Will also make it so you wont have to change the water as often. I use distilled water and a silver coil with a little blue food coloring in my gigantic water cooled media server, I only have to change the water every 6 months.
0:30 Tekno did a clutch for the Losi eight brushless conversion. Brushless still newish at the time, and they did a clutch just like nitro or the one you showed (shoe type) Idea is the motor torque is so far beyond the drivetrain capability. of course the Tekno one was before esc's were so programable by end users. which makes the one you have a bit curious...perhaps just extra protection.
Wow, Definitely wakes it up being electric. Absolutely hammers now. Awesome!! At least now it won't annoy with the noise of a two stroke. Sensational conversion Kevin, cheers for doing the conversion. Just made the Raminator that much more desirable.
Kev, living the dream! Bolts, parts, manuals, you have everything for everything. I always remember the video you told you story, happy you are where you are, and i'm sure you are going to find a GREAT location for everything, with private tracks and everything.
Two points I'd like to make. 1. They've used clutches on BL conversions since before lipos. Most folks say you "shouldnt" need them. 2. You mention water cooling with some folks and you get laughed out. And here we are.
If it get too cold, the coolant will freeze. This might be an issue if you want to use it when its snowing. There should be antifreeze out there for these system.
If it was being stored in the cold I could see the need for it, but as long as it’s running, the motor that it’s cooling will keep the water from freezing.
Looks like you need a motor cycle lift for these giant RC trucks Kev. Also you could tack a spare allen key to the bolt next time you round one off if the extractor fails.
Ever fancy making a robot for battlebots kev? You've got the skills and it'd make for awesome content.
Good idea
Batalbot see, he owns it
Or make a full size real rc car like they did on topgear years ago
Ba Talbot = Battle Bot
Idk if I’d say he’s got the skills for it. I’m not saying he’s stupid but there’s a lot into those compared to a regular rc car
y o u h a v e t h r e e r a m i n a t o r s
NOOOOOO
w h y
May as well say 4 after all the upgrades 🤦🏻♂️
I'm going to feel sorry for the guy who made that jet engine when you destroy it :P
Noiice.
69 likes nice
not anymore its 112

Can't sell upgrade kits for a product that's already good enough
Very cool in electric....can't wait to see it with a gear swap....it's a beast!!!!
⁷l
good to know and in my opion i like the idea and video alot its really cool my opion its really cool
😲😳🥺😭😔

Great video!!
Always gave this man props for battery storage in a decent container. Can’t risk it with LiPos guys
i still dont want it in here but have no choice!
I had to read this about 20 times before I realised what you were saying
Do you have any suggestions on what I should be storing my lipos in? I have 4 S3's
@@KevinTalbotTV that would be a cool project video. "outside ducted battery storage".
Just keep your lipos at storage voltage, then they aren't dangerous to store.

The torque and instant acceleration with electric is impressive. I must admit though, something is missing without the sound of a big gas engine.
I can't believe how far electric motors and batteries have evolved, 10 years ago i would never have recommend this swap but now its AWESOME. Love your video edits! 😁👀🎉

I love your bike
Why is it still clutched?
Oh Kevin You're so genius with RC ...I want to be You're student....
Kev...that looked like ALOT of work!! But BRAVO for filming and showing how it was dun in a very timely manor! Absolutely loved this vid man!
And he drove it too! He didn’t pull a “stay tuned for the results” like many would.
"Manor" 🤣
Dun? Seriously? Inept.
Plug and play.
He never gets good weather :P

I think deep down we all enjoy a good old kev rage 😂 .
Bloody hell Kev that’s Motor is the size of a starter motor 😂😂😂looks hella fun awesome content as usual keep killing it Kev
When the it starts towing the cart with all the other RC's in it,
"Work smart, not hard"
"Look at the size of that "
"And look how small is it"
😂😂
That is what she said
Man’s has to put it onto the rock bouncer
I think electric is the way to go after having two petrol raminators
i still prefer the noise!
1/5 Raminator: $3,399.99
Brushless upgrade: $1,399.99
Total cost: $4,799.98
Kevin: "Let's beat it to death at my local skate park!"
That is awesome Kev. Suggestion; Add a colouring to the cooling water - maybe a bit of coolant against corrosion.
Use chain wax for the transfer box gears.
Like a custom PC
Should have weighed it before and after, would be interesting to know the difference if any!!
This is ABSOLOUTLEY EPIC!
You just have too much fun kevin.
It is kind of weird not hearing the raminator.
YES YES YES! The day has finally came! I love the raminator and now I get to see it electric, and not just that, you are doing it! Love the videos! Subscribe Subscribe SUBSCRIBE!!!! YES!
No video would be complete without someone riding the Raminator!
Electric is so much more agile 💪 Insane how technology changed. 🤷
Only thing that change is the rpm
Primal really needs to sell these as fully electric out the door. Saves buying a gas engine that you will scrap and saves people from having to got through all this work.
Absolutely
Hi Kevin been watching ur vids for 3 years now keep up the good work and just wondering can u do more vids with the crawlers thanks have a great day
Rookie numbers
Maybe 🤔 put a 1000kg ATV winch on there!! It would be very original..!!!
I would love to see this as twin motor, and 16s this beast with mgm esc. Then send it to the moon and back. Imagine this monster going 50+mph. Thats quite scary but woud be absolutley epic 😂😂😂😂😂👍🏽
I don't wanna be anywhere close to him. A flying 80lb object at 50mph is going to hurt or worse.
YEEEEEEEES WE NEED THAT PLEASE!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm sure other skatepark users will appreciate you filling the park with mud lol
Would a direct drive installation be possible on this? seems the clutch/ transmission delays the reverse.
Im most interested in Trailing/crawling
Finally the brushless conversion! That gas version makes it so chunky and the sound reminds me of my first moped lol.
Very good decision!
You are my favorite channel for all RC! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you Kevin!
Truly truly awesome. But I can see why you like the nitro as well. It's nuts how torquey that motor is. I guess the other ting about it is you can still get your Raminator fix if you are in a place where noise is an issue.
yes!!
Why not V8 swap it?
so cool!!!
I definitely want to see this thing geared up for some speed runs!! Imagine a 60mph raminator!
Don't get in it's way! Lol
I actually really love this brushless conversion considering how quiet it is. If I ever save enough to buy a Raminator I am definitely doing this.
That is too cool! Kevin you are an incredible addition to the RC industry! Between you and Rav I've learned so much and seen some INCREDIBLE content. Keep it up brother.
The coolest electric motor I've ever seen!
hi
I am from sri lanka

This power wheel is alot more expensive though. I bet some senior citizens would get a thrill out of riding the raminator though.
What is the blue food coloring for? Looks? So it's easier to spot leaks? To see if flowing through the tubes more easily?
Kev give the engine to Claire for Her 1/5th scale king motor desert truck then battle 🙏🙏🙏🙏 who agrees??
I've learned everything I know about fixing and building rc cars from you. Thanks kev
Watch 4:34 with your eyes closed, kev gets a little too excited 😐
All I can say is it’s awesome you do all the tedious work for our entertainment. We appreciate you Kev!
For his entertainment as well…

“Look at the size of that” that’s what she said 😏
I love to think that every time Kevin yells “yes “right afterward he stops the video and yells “SH9T Fudge” 😂😂 1:36
Wow, I've never seen a water cooled motor and esc before
They are pretty common in RC boats, as there is no airflow.
@@Charlie6969 that makes sense
I keep coming back to watch this video, absolutely love the upgrade. Definitely necessary for those of us who still have all of our hearing, lol
Wow, Definitely wakes it up being electric. Absolutely hammers now. Awesome!! At least now it won't annoy with the noise of a two stroke.
Sensational conversion Kevin, cheers for doing the conversion. Just made the Raminator that much more desirable.

Where do you buy the stuff to build something like that?
It says in the video
Links are always in the description
Fantastic. Wish i could!
Same

Put some on road tires on it
A beast! Those high jumps being a big heavy rig and survive everything, is a statement. And when it’s time to go can be RIDDEN back to the car?!!? 🤣🤣🤣
I like how he has a whole line of dewalt tools and uses a Milwaukee screw gun.
This! This is what puts the biggest smile on my face. Love that electric torque. It's so big!
Those kids look impressed Kev!
You should put 12s in one of those
Kev you should of put the brushless on the mud truck a put the mud truck motor in the red raminator.
I love it how Kevvie has this nice big bench to work on yet ends up on the floor on the carpet like a 10 yr old lol......
Two points I'd like to make.
1. They've used clutches on BL conversions since before lipos. Most folks say you "shouldnt" need them.
2. You mention water cooling with some folks and you get laughed out.

this kid gets to play with toys every day in his tree house im jelly as hell.
Hi Kev! Your vids have changed my life. One thing I wanted to ask, why don't you drive your losi sbr 2.0? Is there something wrong with it?
Watching Kevins videos is like going on an adventure!!
13:50 FOOTAGE
Ive lost count at $27,000.00 in RC for Kevin.
Famous words from Kev. "It's coming it's coming!" 😂
When you can't get "footage" because the r/c will break your foot. Awesome!
me trying to focus on science homework
sees new kevin talbot video
Bout time the raminator gets a proper bashing
It’s Christmas every day
Never seen someone use a screw extractor wrong and still manage to get it to work.
Wouldn't the Mythbusters remote controlled passenger cars be the world's largest rc cars?
I can’t be the only one that wanted him to ride it
We need more of the electric raminator!
It's ALIVE!! That thing needs a 2-speed transmission with an overdrive for the speed runs.
KEV!!!!!! PUT A MUCH BIGGER AND FASTER MOTOR IN IT!!!! I WANNA SEE IT GO TO THE MOOOOONNNN
More speed more torque then more riding on it lmao that was hilarious kevin
It's a beast offroad especially now with its high tourqe electric motor. Awesome! I would buy one if was already eletric assembled, lol
YEEESSSSSSS FINALY
The one vid that doesn’t end in a disaster crash
man you know it’s serious when you have to watercool your esc
I love watching Kev get excited absolutely priceless 😂
That torque is insane!
Video does no justice on how big it actually is
What a beast!
This guy's contagious personality can make mopping the floor exciting!
I would really like to see some nice soft crawler tires on this and some low gears and do some crawling.
with locked diffs!
Seems like TH-cams have been going down hill lately except for Kevin! Keep it up man!
