The music video is based mostly on paintings! Mainly ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ which is where you can find that weird birdhouse at the end. I’ve watched a couple of your videos now and I love how much time you put into what you think of it all! I have a feeling you might prefer Red Velvet’s songs Pysho or Bad Boy more than this one. Mayyybe Seulgi and Irene’s 2 sub-unit songs
Psycho and Bad Boy are definitely must watch. A very different side of Red Velvet. They tend to be fairly experimental, and this is one of their “happier” themes - building on the sample of Bach’s “Air on the G string”. It’s a celebration of spring, and an homage to classic depictions of spring. They usually play to their darker side much more, even in their more pop songs. Their music videos often have horror or thriller sub plots. Peekaboo and Russian Roulette are upbeat songs with darker videos.
Red Velvet is known as the group with the members that have the best vocals and so good in harmonizing. They have one of the best vocal lines in Kpop! Wendy is the BEST female vocalist of this generation. The fact is that internationally Red Velvet not as popular as 2 other girl groups from TOP3 (Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet) because their music is sometimes hard to catch up and SM tends to change concepts every comeback. They do a lot of concept like I can't even explain how versatile they are. You might find some of it weird, creepy, aesthetic, girlcrush, cute or whatever it is, they're not afraid of trying something new which sets them apart from other groups. They have their “Red” side which is more “quirky”, fun, cute and pop & their “Velvet” side which is more mature, sexy, R&B. I really like RED VELVET because their concept always changes. There's no time to get bored.
This does have recreations of famous artworks. The main one being "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. I do think you'd enjoy their song "Peek-a-boo". It's experimental and a darker concept.
Glad to have you experience Red Velvet🤗. They are a very versatile, experimental, veteran girls group that are extremely talented and tops in vocals, visuals, concepts, choreo, stage presence, weaponry… Idols of idols, respected by their peers, young and old. If there is any story that they might follow… well, you can see them as intergalactic super witches with vocals that will put you in a spell. Their even newer Japanese release “Wildside” will show you how diverse they are. We have no clue what they will come up with next. They will have the darker more mature side (Velvet side) that I’m sure you’d like … Psycho, Bad Boy, Monster, Naughty….within their 100+ discography. They have plenty of bright and poppy songs too (Red side) and their high notes are not the typical young teens pitch sounding. Even if you are not into ballads, their ballads hit different. Good music is good music and that’s what they deliver. They are known as the Queen of B Sides and all the songs even in this album are non skip. Enjoy your journey🤗
"intergalactic super witches with vocals that will put you in a spell". Now that's a concept. Looks like they have an extensive discography. I didn't have a couple of those songs on my list, but they are there now. I can definitely get into ballads, but I do have a more picky taste when it comes to slower-paced songs. They may just tickle that fancy.
@@kpopauntie Here’s a sample of their slower paced song from this album. “In My Dreams” shows their individual and group harmony that they do best. th-cam.com/video/aJ2h7lJIvjI/w-d-xo.html Please ignore the filler music at the end of their song. There’s a high note by Wendy at the end but Wendy’s adlibs are a given in their songs. (Wendy’s solo album is a gem also)
so baiscally they are in reveland there universe and they are the dolls of "reve" it is a small kid that imagins the world for them and every comeback they are in the new world and the reve festival has 3 previous installments day 1,2,finale they really have a crazy plot line to be honest and there are so many theories if you are into aespa seulgi from redvelvet is rumor to be black mamba, to explain it simply the mv is normally reve's imaginations of the dolls that is redvelvet, and the other theory is that they are witches. bot of them are crazy and fans go crazy debunking theories every comback and till the mv drops we don't know if it is gona be red or velvet concepts so it is always fun, they had a press conference for this comeback where they said the mv is homage to all the famous paintings and based on edith of the earth painting or something like that if you are interested go the the comment section and you will find all the reference to the paintings
red velvet is a group with unique concept they debuted on 2014 and the red in redvelvet represent there pop upbeat and brigh side and the velvet represent mature and r&b focused music they do new concepts every comeback and all there albums are different from one another in 2019 billboard named them the best idol group alive in korea they are know as the summer queens and b side queens as they have a critically aclamed discography of bops and the album reve festivel 2022 feel my rythm is the highest rated girlgroup album and 2nd highest kpop album in pitchfork history i recommend you to check them out in my opinion they have the best vocals from 3rd gen groups and wendy the main vocalist is the best 3rd gen singer.
@@kpopauntie Here are a few suggestions... For their Velvet side, try... Bad Boy Automatic One of These Nights Be Natural (actually a cover, but it's still very good) For more fun bops from their Red side, try... Dumb Dumb Ice Cream Cake Umpah Umpah Russian Roulette Peek A Boo, which was mentioned in another comment, kind of falls in between the 2 sides. Red Velvet doesn't have running stories or themes in their MV's, but if you choose to dive deeper into their discography you'll notice that a lot of their MV's have a dark undertone to them which ranges from "That was mildly unsettling" to downright creepy. Then there's Really Bad Boy which is just campy werewolf stuff. Oh, and for a real acid trip of an MV, try Happiness, their debut MV.
This song sample Aria on G string from Bach..Red Velvet Is on of the most vocally orientes gg on Kpop.. they're known by their dark eerie concepts, Red as the fun side Velvet a More mature one...Is the most experimental group together with Exo..
Uhmmm I will try to explain it for you. Discovering Red Velvet's discography is like embarking in a roller coaster ride, not because they have ups and downs, it's bc for me some of their songs puts you high in a state of euphoria, hyper, exhilaration, happiness and sometimes even confused hahaha 🤣. And the other side of them takes you on a soft cloudy bliss sometimes fluffy, sometimes dreamy romantic or sensual and a few times a bit sad and deep; at least this is how I feel their 2 sides. Red side is cheerful, bright quirky colorful usually fast tempo pop; Velvet side more soft tempo, mature and sometimes heavy R&B inspired. I think Feel My Rhythm is a mix red and velvet side. Red Velvet is a vocal group so they emphasize the harmonies. As an introductory list I recommend Red: Red Flavor, Power Up, Ice Cream Cake, and if you want to be edgy you can try: Dumb Dumb, Zimzalabim. Velvet: Bad Boy, Automatic, Psycho, One of These Nights. I'm gonna stop now but there is much more and the B sides are some of the best of kpop.
Thank you! I didn't have a couple of those songs on the list yet. Tallying up the votes. I'll certainly be revisiting Red Velvet, so we'll have plenty of time for more recommendations. I like how they incorporated their musical concept directly into their name.
hope you do more red velvet their discography is incredible!! a few of my favs are peek-a-boo, bad boy, dumb dumb, & ice cream cake they have a bunch of different sides to them! i think you would also like the girl group ITZY they are in the same company as stray kids! some of their stuff i rec is loco, wannabe, not shy & icy and obviously blackpink! idk if anyone has recommended them yet or not but they are badass! i suggest DDU-DU DDU-DU, Whistle,Boombayah,Kill this Love, & playing with fire
Thank you! I didn't have a couple of those Red Velvet songs on my list. I didn't have any of the ITZY songs. And I can't believe you're the first person to recommend Blackpink. I've heard of them by now, and I've heard a couple of their songs being covered because I watched Kingdom: Legendary War. They're definitely going on the list.
If you're not a fan of high register song, maybe you could try to react to Red Velvet's songs 'Bad boy, Automatic' and their b-side track songs which have variety of RnB genres.
I would recommend that you check out Bad Boy, Psycho, Russian Roulette and Wildside if you want to delve into more Red Velvet. I would also recommend Twice as a girl group to possibly check out at some point in the future. With Twice, I feel like you are better off starting with their earlier songs like Cheer Up and TT.
Thank you! I'm surprised no one has recommended Twice before this. I've heard of them, and there aren't a ton of girl groups I've heard of yet. They are now on the list, as is Cheer Up and TT.
Oh boy. You don't like high register voices and "Feel the Rhythm" is actually known for very difficult high register singing. Not a song I would recommend for you as an introduction to Red Velvet. From what I've seen of your reactions, you will probably like "Really Bad Boy" and "Peekaboo" more.

Good! I like groups that don't sound the same with every album. Sounds like Red Velvet will keep my interest, even if I'm not 100% into every song.
