Top speed is dependent upon 2 things; drag coefficient, & power available at the back wheel. With a CoD of 0.8, & 11.3 bhp at the back wheel, on a dead flat road & warm still air, the bike should reach a genuine 62 mph (regardless of what the speedo claims, & they are always optimistic to comply with the law) Raising the sprocket size makes the bike slower, not faster, as it prevents the engine from climbing to full power revs against resistance. If an engine develops 11.5 bhp at 9000, then with one extra tooth on the gearbox sprocket, it may only develop 11 bhp at 8700 at the same road speed. Good for economy, but self defeating for maximum speed & hill climbing ability. As hp is a product of torque & revs, it stands to reason with a 125, that it NEEDS all the revs it can muster. The engine power & sprocket size have already been optimised by the manufacturer. If you think they wouldn't give their own machine every chance to out perform the opposition in performance & economy, you are crazy! If they test an engine's output at 11.5 bhp, they will give it gearing which allows the full exploitation of 11.5 bhp. Depending upon where the rev limit is set above peak power revs, you may be able to squeeze out another 5 mph with a strong tail wind or heading downhill. So far as covering distances are concerned, the ONLY important factor is what overall average speed the engine can attain & sustain, uphill & against head winds. On a 125 of 11 bhp, you probably won't exceed an overall average speed of much over 50 - 55 mph even when thrashed unless you are on a motorway for an hour. P.s The reason people get pissed at loud bikes, is because it is an invasion of their privacy for no other reason than the bike owners narcissism & immaturity.

My lexmoto venom behind a van on a hill hit rev limiter at 80-82 mph but with normal wind drag ( still air ) it would hit 75

There is nothing wrong with your bike. The first time you hit 60, you were heading downhill. On the dead level, in still air, sitting upright, you won't exceed an indicated 65 without a tail wind. Your bike is achieving exactly what physics dictates that 11.5 bhp (11 at the back wheel should achieve. Congratulations! You have a good un!

picked up a 2016 model last night, only 1030 miles on the clock ,im 6 feet tall and 17 stone and mine was hitting max revs in 5th at about 72mph on the flat, went down a long hill and it wold have gone faster but was being held back by ignition limiter.
i was only expecting around 55 at best but was following the wifes abarth 500 and she confirmed the same speeds

thank god its not just my rubber mirror seals that drop down more on the left than the right for some bizarre reason ?

    I'm 9st or 125lbs, and I've had 65 out of mine

I have one of these 16 tooth sprocket on the front hits 72mph flat out with the original 15 tooth front sprocket it barely hit 65 these bike don’t have enough guts in them. Anyone saying there standard venom does 70 you chatting absolute poo! With a 16 tooth front hills can be a bit slow but when you pick the speed up it won’t go any quicker than 70-75 mph depending on wind

People get "pissed off" with loud bike exhausts because they are unnecessary and egotistical. Also, I don't know if you've worked this out but exhaust pipes point backwards, which means the people you are intensely annoying have already been passed, so that blows away the claim that loud exhausts are so people "know I'm approaching". So there you have it. That's why people get pissed off with loud bikes. They are an intrusion and a conceit to no purpose and certainly present no safety advantage - if anything the opposite because they just irritate pedestrians and other road users. As for your bike, it goes just fine.
