      @Don-C.L. 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@walletphonekeys if the map isn't automatically shown on the bottom left corner of your screen, then you'll never to enable it. Upon enabling it, you tap the map and it will show you the distance flown and location. Use that line to figure out how to return to the point of origin. You can do this with the proprietary remote or your phone or tablet. Best with a phone (over tablet) as you can mount it onto your DJI controller. A tablet has a bigger screen for viewing but recommended only if you have someone with you. The more premium version of the DJI controller (with a built-in screen) eliminates the need for your phone or 2nd device; however, it is great when filming and you need it to show it externally where you don't have multiple people literally looking over the operator's shoulder.

      You are correct, however there is no way we can determine how much distance between the drones and the clouds from the view provided. I can speculate that the drone wasn’t flying within the clouds, as the video image was still clear on the remote as the drone passed over into view. There is probably a violation on LOS, but I am unaware of the pilots certifications, which I could assume he has a Part 107 certificate if he’s making money off his content, or if he possess a waiver for LOS.

      The VLOS requirement needs to be updated ASAP. It is more in line with old dummy drones. Newest drones with GPS, remote ID, anti collision, know and report better where they are than any visual estimation of their position. In addition the Mini 3 is practically the weight of a bird, doesn't pose any threat and because of its size it is basically invisible a few feet away. So it is penalized for its harmless size? So the VLOS law would rather have you fly a huge drone so you can see it from a longer distance? I think it should be the opposite. If the drone is smaller and harmless and has all the GPS tech onboard then remove superfluous fly restrictions.

    Tried that with my 3pro as it was flying through a cloud and I could not see the starting point/myself via camera. Due to the cloud being recognized as object (like really thick smoke as well I believe), RTH failed. Thought I’d lose it. Fortunately there was a very small hole in the cloud so I could see some structure and navigated there. Took a pic of the controller with my smartphone to show locals where that hut might be. 5min later I had the drone back, just a pair of props damaged.
    And yes the map is a great feature, but not with the DJI RC where you have to download each region you want to fly in beforehand (now I know). This works way better with a regular controller / smartphone attached.

      not all drones have an aux light on the bottom of the drone

    • @udornyc
      @udornyc ปีที่แล้ว

      @nolan Correct! Before I used the aux light, I had a set of Firehouse positioning lights velcroed to the bottom and top.
      This just flashes continuously, and you can identify your drone constantly. Those are bright during the day, too!

      He is in Canada. Transport Canada makes the rules here, and they are far less restrictive than the FAA when it comes to drones under 250g. LOS is only a recommendation for drones under 250g. He is not breaking any laws.

    Here’s a tip. Don’t use one touch landing if ur very high above the ground. 1 being cause u don’t know if it’s gonna land on something and 2 because I’ve noticed with many drones it can go crazy and think it’s already landed and it’ll shut its blades off. So if I were like 10,15,20 meters above the ground it would be fine but more than that I wouldn’t use 1 touch landing till I’m that close to the ground
