Idk exactly if he should be the face but his idea of promoting our narrative in Africa to maintain strong partnerships to counter Russian and Chinese influence and interference with the region is what should be paramount for the US military. Sadly the comments responding to this statement kind of show why there is disenchantment with democratic values overall. The political landscape in America has gotten so toxic and from what I believed, the USA was the “face” of democracy yet when other nations observe our way of government today, I would imagine there is skepticism because of the partisan politics and how it’s used to interfere with things such as this aid bill. We need to really understand that in war, an enemy isn’t going to care whether you’re left, right, black, white, straight, non-binary, or whatever… they will only see you as an American and thus eliminate you based on that assumption. There cannot be this much of a divide concerning our foreign policy because our security is at stake. And yes it’s probably gonna require sacrifice when it comes to tax dollars, but it’s better to sacrifice this in advance than our lives in the future. We need faith in our system again. And the radical elements on both sides of the spectrum need to compromise on social issues because Russian and Chinese “bots” exploit this and infect public opinion of the common citizens who would be otherwise indifferent but instead recognize a false narrative or half truths which is detrimental to overall patriotism. Otherwise, yes, similarly to I guess R. Lee Ermey, General Langley projects a good image as far as demeanor and in respect to how he “looks” could be portrayed as a positive influence or someone especially youths in some communities to look up to as an example perhaps however there are so many fine examples already that it needs not really saying. As far as face for Africom, well, assuming he is black which I maybe completely wrong and will retract my following statement if so, but I think especially because he’s working with African partners, he might be best suited as a face of America as millions of us here have African hereditary and its best to show that aspect to Africans to try to gain a deeper bond. Now I seriously doubt that is why he was chosen and rather his experience and ability is what brought him to command but hey, it’s kind of a bonus. But again, I’m dancing around saying it with the confidence I believe it matters in light of possible public scrutiny which sadly, says it all right there.

The whole purpose of the federal government is to deal with foreign policy and the best interests of the American people. This is what our federal government should be mainly involved in. Not all this tyrannical government intervention they’re doing domestically. the state legislature is to deal with domestic issues and it’s clearly stated into our constitution but here we are with an overwhelming majority of public servants over reaching their powers at the state level. Our founding fathers wanted us to be different but I guess history repeats itself, “so help us god”!!

Why dont we prioritize the needs of all american citizens specially the wages. If you visits israel now they have nice roads and hiways and buildings. But here most of states have no street lights, bumpy roads and freeways old buildings and bridges and low minimum wages..

Government sets a standard or tax and regulations and people try to trick or cheat the system. An underground or black market exist and thrives off the things deemed taboo and illegal. Sometimes people are trying to sell potatoes or corn, and someone else is going to make counterfeits, just like everything else. Cheap knockoffs or copies, generic brands. Sometimes with the same chemicals and materials or less or replaced with a cheaper alternative. I once saw a video of people cutting bags of rice with plastic. And some people are even considering eating bugs, instead of just feeding the animals and fish, bugs.

First, If I have to choose between the US and Russia, or the PCR? My answer is clear and unmistakable: the US is my choice, no doubt because they are reliable to many extents. Against Russia and PCR propaganda, the US can still gain ground in Africa and expand its influence through meaningful investment, especially in central Africa, where critical minerals are located. Second, I believe in strong ties and strategic partnerships between Africa and America, especially between DR Congo and the US, for the prosperity of both countries.

Pre WW2 even non-white westerners were subhumans and treated as such; Post WW2, even then the imperialists hadn't recognize that every reign which entrenched racial and cultural divisions would eventually decline. Particularly, America's fear and inferiority that makes them entrench forms of systemic discrimination, authoritarianism, and extremist ideologies in "the colored populations/regions" is the philosophical visions that's getting disrupted worldwide especially now in Africa. It's a great shame despite the global resistance against oppressive states, like the US - all you hear in this council is basically; "How do we keep eroding other people's democratic principles and social justice despite their resistance to our engagements? How do we also justify that any opposition to anglo-american neocolonialism is communism?"

He’s justifying going to war with Iran, but Africa just wants to be its own entity. why is the US/Europeans there in the first place? And But for those entities Africa wouldnt be suffering. That’s just a fact. europeans/Americans are the one who colonized Africa in the first place, so why would Africans want anything to do with these entities?

How about you just leave us Africa alone and worry about your own internal affairs or the countries that you share borders with?
Africa doesn't share any borders with the US nor are we part of the same military alliance. So why don't you just leave us alone?
What business of the US is it with what countries Africa countries want to partner or do business with? Are you our parents?
Do you preach democracy to the Gulf states or Asian states, many of which are autocratic governmens?
Or do you just want to impose your dominance on us?

@@garygeorge9648 Africa has been doing just fine for thousands of years until it had the misfortune of meeting the West. Just because Western media portray Africa as the land of famine, misery, wars and diseases doesn't make it true. We don't care anymore about trying to convince the world that all that Western propaganda was a lie. Now we just wanted to focus on getting ourselves ahead.
We have everything we need to succeed: 60% of the world's arable land, the richest land in natural resources and the youngest population in the world.
We'll be fine. We just need the West to leave us alone to chart our own destiny instead of deliberately destabilizing us by funding armed conflicts and installing puppet African leaders in order to plunder our resources.
