    Are these Chinese lights reliable or should you pay more for something non Chinese?

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      China makes billions of flashlights each year. America has little to no experience with making flashlights. If you wanna play politics buy American. If you want a good flashlight buy Chinese. I've had 300 Chinese flashlights and 3 of them have failed out of the 300 over the last 6 years or so. I own 12 American made flashlights and 5 of them failed so far. Never assume because it's made in China that it's junk. At least not on this channel. There are definitely a ton of junk flashlights made in China for sure. You just won't see them here. 😎👍 That's my oath to my viewers.

    Is it weird I carry this in my edc sling along with a i5r eos ti as edc light but also have a wuben c3 as a cheap tactical torch in iffy situations(still looking for a new tactical torch) but cheap where i dont mind losing but powerful c3 is hard to argue. Another olight pen2 in my shirt pocket as a quickie little light and another tiny olight Imorse on the keychain just because its freaking adorbs..my wife says I'm weird for carrying 5 different lights everyday.

    just a heads up the charging port is water proof without the flap.

      Really? No... Really? 🤔 I have a feeling I'm gonna try it and ruin the light 😅.

      @@PreparedGuy yeah i was worried because the flap always pops off, but mine has been in rainstorms with out the flap and its fine. Than i read the manual and it mentions the charging port being water proof alone.
      But awesome headlamp, I love mine!

    The material is aluminium?

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay so that's a really good question. The front portion of the light where the LED his housed is actually plastic but the rear portion where the battery is housed is aluminum. It's a weird combination I know but they made it work. So far it's been pretty good. Also if the 18650 battery decides to explode at least the plastic housing will be the first part to blow out away from the body. Just some food for thought. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Can you make a comparison video of Wuben H1 and Nitecore Hc65

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, unfortunately I won't be showing nitecore products on the channel anymore due to their poor customer service and the over all way they treat their customers.

    • @thomassrensen2141

      Go with nitecore hc65. I used my 1 year , the wuben is just a plastic toy

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've owned both and I kept the wuben h1 and returned the HC65. I've had too many nitecore products fail.

    • @thomassrensen2141
      @thomassrensen2141 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The difference is I don't get payed to promote stuff.😂
      Wuben says the light has a high CRI . That wrong. It's just piss yellow.
      The osram led have a poor performance and the front cover is plastic.
      And they claim it's ip68 with a exposed micro usb port with a plastic cover? Hmmm

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't get paid to promote anything on my Channel. Otherwise it would say paid promo on the video and I'd be making bank. I know a lot of reviewers are bought by companies but I will call out a light if it sucks and I can't be bought. The HC65 isn't a bad light but nitecore isn't trustworthy. The CRI is what it is. Unless you're doing surgery CRI does little to help anyone.

    I'm looking at this light, the sofirn d25s or sp40 for hunting. The main reason I like this is because it has a moonlight mode where the others don't. I walk a long ways in and out in the dark and sometimes have to clean and drag deer out which can take a few hours. Would h1 be the best choice or do you have any other recommendations for a solid hunting headlamp?

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In all honesty, the white auxiliary mode runs at 10 lumens for 25 hours. I think once your eye adjusting to the dark that 10 lumens will go a long way. So YES I would recommend this light for hunting. The red auxiliary light is excellent as well. To be on the safe side I would recommend always having a back up battery. You can pick up a generic 18650 for cheap on amazon. Also carry a back up light just in case because remember it is a $30 headlamp. It could last years or it could last a week. We always roll the dice with any gear we buy. Sometimes we just get lucky and other times we find a reasonable priced product that stands up to the test of time. Personally I carry the H1 in my get home bag with a back up battery and a back up flashlight and I haven't had any major issues so far. Of course I've only had this light a month or so and use it sparingly. So yes definitely give it a shot. I doubt it will let you down.

      @@PreparedGuy Cool, I've been using a cheap AAA walmart special for a few years. It works fine but eats batteries. I really only like to carry one light but maybe should consider bringing an extra. Do you have any recommendations on a good, inexpensive and compact backup light? I have been looking at the sofirn sc31 pro or the sofirn if25a but am open to other options. I've been reading forums and watching tons of videos trying to learn this stuff but sometimes it's better to ask someone with a lot of experience. I appreciate the quick response.

      @@ZombieOnaStick21 , look up wurrkos' headlamp. It has both, flood and spot, i.e. two different hqleds. And very long run time. Heavier because of the battery.
      And you have to train with the switch because it has many a modes. Nothing for bloody hands.

    Good presentation, I read somewhere that it is necessary to use only protected batteries, because charging via a lamp is not the most reliable and sometimes does not stop charging. Is this true?
